Chapter 685 - Hut

Name:The Genius' First Love Author:Zijay
Darryl was made aware of the chaos that took place in the east mountain and the fact that his wife went to see Illa Durray. Worried about their wives, he and Baruk Tam rushed to the seer's hut in Pan Village. Upon arrival, they had seen the pack of royals and leaders that also rushed in there wanting to witness themselves what was going to happen there as they heard the healer seek the interpretation of the prophecy.

Enoch, the Chieftain was also there as his attention was called and when his brothers arrived, the servants informed him. Thus he was able to welcome the two at the entrance.

"Where's my wife?" Darryl asked immediately. He knew of the story of how Princess Lana appeared and convinced Xhemin that the prophecy was real. Although she knew Xhemin would not be swayed easily, knowing that she had come all the way from the east mountain to trouble Illa Durray worried him. Was she lured by Princess Lana to believe that he really needed a concubine?

"Inside," Enoch announced. "We are all waiting for Illa Durray. Her children said the seer was still meditating,"

"Enoch, how did Princess Lana get in contact with the healer?" BaruK Tam asked. The last time he heard about the princess, she was brought to Buntu Hills to become the Highest Gunta's wife.

"She escaped," Enoch revealed. " She must have heard the healer was home and so she planned all this,"

"So where's the highest Gunta?" Baruk Tam inquired again.

"On his way here. He and Princess Lana were supposed to be wed two weeks from now as that was the date the seers in the Buntu Hills considered good and auspicious," Chieftain Enoch narrated more. "He left Buntu Hills to for some tasks in the par line camp never expecting his soon to be wife would ran away,"

"How's Xhemin?" Darryl couldn't help but asked. He dared not enter the hut yet without any idea how his wife was feeling. He needed to know first how she took the prophecy so he would know the right words to tell her.

"If you are asking about her mood, she seemed calm," Enoch told him unsure and decided to tease him " I don't think she's mad but I saw her gazing through Illa Durray's kitchen knives, probably choosing which ones to use to cut your balls,"

"Beware Hero," Baruk Tam joined, teasing that Darrul could only shake his head at the two. Not wanting to entertain their fooly, he went inside the room to look for his wife. As he entered the door, she saw Princess Lana sitting on the right side of the big room, while Xhemin and her handmaidens stood at the other side. Aside from the girls, the room then was flooded with guests—leaders and royals who wanted to witness what was about to transpire.

Xhemin's handmaid's saw Darryl and they called for Xhemin's attention and she immediately turned head to look at her husband with complexity. However, she knew right from staring through Darryl's eyes that he wanted to talk so she went out of the hut to accommodate her husband. They went to a part of Illa Durray's background where there are less people so they can talk without anyone's interference.

"Milady, I never thought you are the kind of person who would believe in prophecies," Darryl started. His face was so serious that Xhemin understood he was a bit mad for her giving Princess Lana some opportunity to ruin their peaceful household.

"My love I don't believe Princess Lana if that is what you are mad about," Xhemin explained and reached out to held Darryl's hand. "I know since I'm a botanist, I should dwell on things that science could not explain. However, I have read too many books and knew of our world's history. We can never deny that in the past, people used to look up to seers and many religions in the world left us some proof that some of these prophecies can be true,"

"But Milady, you can't base and rely on prophecies to run our lives," Darryl added, hoping Xhemin could just ignore this and go home with him. "We had gone through a lot already and I don't want anything to ruin us, not anymore,"

Hearing her words, Xhemin realized immediately why Darryl was mad. He was afraid that what was going to happen here will cause them trouble and that their happy home will be at risk. Carefully, Xhemin cupped Darryl's hand to give him an ȧssurance. "Tatta, this is not something that can ruin us. I won't let anything ruin us anymore,"

"I'm just here because prophecies mean a lot to the Manggan Tribe and I wanted to respect it by giving it some attention. See if we can help them solve it or clarify it," Xhemin made herself clear. "I am a princess here and I know the history of Manggan Island. Prophecies do help them sometimes so I want to know if there's anything good with it. Besides, we should put an end to Princess Lana's dilemna or she'll keep pestering us. I wanted to hear the prophecy myself and see where her Princess Lana's interpretation went wrong,"

"She's just under too much pressure. The servants told me she was past the marrying age, that predicament might have shaken her sanity," Darryl too pitied the princess but seeing her now trying to ruin his household wanted him to rethink what he felt toward her. Perhaps he had been too soft and complacent to all the royals in Manggan island these days.

"Princess Lana felt like you guys didn't give her much of a chance that's why she felt betrayed," Xhemin explained. "I'm trying to make her see that I was willing to listen and accommodate her concern as to what leaders should do. She's not okay, you are right, pushing her without listening to her would only make her worse. This is why I brought her here and called for Illa Durray's attention. We needed to at least give princess Lana the chance to prove herself and her point,"

"Fine milady," Darryl doesn't want to bother himself too much with it. It was enough that Xhemin ȧssured him this would not ruin them so he'll just do whatever she pleases. If this makes her feel good then he'll go on with it. Besides , she was indeed a princess of the Manggan Island and she was only doing what her status required her to do. "However, whatever is Illa Durray's position in her own vision, know that I will never ever accept a concubine in my house. Tell them I had enough with you and Willow already. My hands are full. I can't take another woman inside my house anymore,"
