Chapter 248: Morpheus' Evolution

Name:The Gamer's System Author:Campoccino
"So I just have to eat this and I'll become super-duper powerful?!?" Morpheus said all excited as he held on to [Aeros' Horn].

"Yup. You'll be as strong as Sylph or better yet, even as strong as me."

As soon as breakfast was done with, Zeke proceeded to one of the training rooms. He then crafted two things which were essential for the first agenda connected to the rewards. He also called Morpheus, Heron and Allesiah. Telling them all to come after an hour and they did.

Upon arriving at the scene, Zeke immediately gave them the instructions. Heron was to stay outside the training room and maintain the [Cloud of Dreams] while Allesiah, Zeke, and Morpheus were to enter it as they were essential for what the gamer had in mind.

"Zeke are you sure about this? He couldn't even control that new form yet right? I mean look what happened to that poor boy's body." Allesiah said, sounding like a caring mother while Zeke was the strict father.

"Relax. I've got everything sorted out. Plus, this much is essential to increase our chances of winning. It's not like I'll be torturing him to death nor would this be anything new to him."

If Quinn was with them Zeke would have given the human the horn since, he had a much more mature mind. Plus there was more talent in Quinn. Adding to the fact that he knew how to use his resources well. These things would inevitably affect the transformation and allow him to have higher chances of controlling whatever adverse effects might come along.

Unfortunately, the human was not there anymore. He was taken by Vask and so, Zeke had no other choice but to put it on Morpheus. Although, before doing so he made sure that the [Chimera Morpher's] status points were all fine and that his body was all healed.

"Okay lets get started!" Morpheus excitedly said, without a shred of fear from the thought of transforming into something which he wasn't even sure he could control.

"Woah there. First things first buddy. You need to wear these." Zeke threw items which the boy caught with both hands.

"What are these?"

"That's an anklet and a circlet." Zeke said in reply, with Allesiah coming close in order to help the boy wear them.

"You really look like his mother doing that."

"Shut up idiot." Allesiah said in reply as she blushed with Zeke's comment.

The items were things which Zek made before his three allies came. These were items that would help Morpheus speed up the process of controlling his new form because, Zeke knew that after absorbing [Aeros' Horn], fighting for control would only be harder for the boy.

[Item Name: Owl's Circlet]

[Grade: S+]

[Item Type: Headgear]

[Information: The wearer of the item has their intelligence stat boosted by 100 and gains resistance to mind eroding and degrading effects. The resistance grows proportionate to the number of times one gets exposed to the same effects.]

[Item Name: Anklet of Dominance]

[Grade: S+]

[Item Type: Armor]

[Information: The item enables the wielder to have better control of their body. The amount of control depends on the situation.]

"We need you to control that new form of yours first. After that, we'll proceed to your consumption of the horn." Zeke said, snapping his finger and returning the said item to his inventory.

"Okay I'm ready anytime." The eager Morpheus said.

The room which contained spell amplifying gems began getting immersed in the cloud of dreams. Heron stayed outside the room as she was ordered, requiring less effort in maintaining the skill due to the gems.

As soon as the skill finished casting, the three the three got transferred inside a large plains. There was nothing in sight but the grassy fields and the open sky. A field which raised the concern of Allesiah.

"Zeke."

"Hmm?"

"I know you're smart but, didn't you say that his skill goes along the lines of petrifying anything his roar reaches?"

"Yup. That's the overpowered skill."

"Yeah and we need some solid object to block that right?"

"Yup." Zeke said as if the area was not a cause for concern at all.

"Then why are we in the middle of an open field?!?"

"Anytime you're ready Mory." Zeke said, with the boy giving a thumbs up as he began his transformation.

"Zeke are you sure those items are going to do the trick?" Allesiah said, standing next to Zeke as she watched in amazement at the amount of [Chaos Energy] being generated by Morpheus.

"Of course those would be able to help to him. Although I'm not sure to what extent because, at the end of the day, most of this depends on Mory's willpower."

The struggle began right away. Morpheus screamed as the horns began growing on his head. He was trying his best to control it while holding back the voices in his head that came with the increasing amount of [Chaos Power].

"And how is he even able to manifest that much [Chaos]? Haven't we depleted all of that within Helios already?"

"The crystals we are using to amplify the [Cloud of Dreams] have been mixed with the [Chaos Crystals] we collected. Don't worry I thought about all of this thoroughly already. There's no way it would spread beyond this domain."

"If you say so." Was Allesiah's short response as she made a barrier for the two of them.

There was a spiraling wind filled with chaos that came from Morpheus. Normally this would be dangerous but since it was nothing more than pure chaos energy Zeke didn't need to worry as he already had the curse of the [Blood King] activated even in his base form. Preventing pure [Chaos] or [Order] energy to even come close to him.

"Hey aren't you supposed to give him some words of encouragement or something?" Heron asked through the [Voice Chat] as she watched Morpheus struggle.

"Well I could but, that might ruin his concentration. This isn't some anime cliché where he'd suddenly power up just because of some encouraging words." Zeke said in reply, with Heron wondering what the word "anime" even meant.

"Anyway, I believe he can do this. I mean, it won't happen right away of course but the more he gets the feel of the form, the easier it would be for him to tame and control it."

"If you say so master." Heron said in reply, watching as Morpheus finally finished turning into his new form. The creature glared at Zeke and Allesiah who were still within the safety of the elf's barrier.

"Did he do it?" Allesiah asked and, before she could even receive a reply, Zeke snapped his fingers.

Morpheus got electrocuted right away. There wasn't even any fight as he simply dropped to the ground – reverting back to his human form right away.

"Zeke!" Allesiah said, angry at what just happened.

"Relax it isn't as painful as it looks. That move simply distorts the flow of [Chaos Energy] around Morpheus. Preventing him from taking the form too long if he doesn't control it."

"Honestly, your methods are a lot like you."

"Brilliant?"

"No. Crazy." Allesiah said, walking towards Morpheus who was still conscious at that point.

"It told you it didn't hurt that much." Zeke whispered to Allesiah in a kind of triumphant tone. Walking past the elf and asking Morpheus right away.

"How was it? What did you feel?"

"I felt really powerful at first. The transition wasn't as bad as the first time it happened but then my mind started becoming hazy and stuff. The voices somehow took control of my body so it was a good thing that the item worked when it did." At this point Zeke looked at Allesiah again. Annoying the elf because of Zeke's smug expression.

"I told you so." Was written all over the gamer's face as he continued talking to Morpheus.

"Let's try that out a couple more times. Don't try to rush it, we've got enough time on our hands after all." Zeke said, patting the head of the boy as he waited for the child to recover.

"Allesiah do you have anything for us?" There was only silence that answered Zeke.

"Oh come on. Are you seriously getting angry over something like that?" Zeke continued, seeing the elf with her arms folded bellow her chest; her left pointing finger making a tapping motion near her elbow.

"The power is not refined. I mean it is something you should definitely watch out for but, without any proper training and mastery, he's nothing more than a wild beast."

"Hey I'm not a beast! I'm Mory!" The child said, getting another pat. This time from Allesiah who finally calmed down after rousing the boy's annoyance.

"Yes sorry about that Mory. Anyway, I don't have any data yet except for that because I wasn't there the first time he transformed."

"I figured as much. We're going to start again soon and I hope you have no problems with this."

"You have nothing to worry on my end. Just proceed with the training and I'll do the analysis of the [Chaos Energy]." Allesiah said in reply.

"Well you heard her Mory. We probably need you to transform a couple more times for the sake of the data."

"No proooobleeem! I can do this all day!" Mory said vibrantly.

With this the two backed away again and, with the signal given by Zeke, the Chimera began his transformation once again.
