Chapter 141: The Answer

Name:The Gamer's System Author:Campoccino
Both Heron and Morpheus were hand trained by Zeke from day one. Although Heron herself was already a warrior, all her memories were wiped clean. But her body still remembered being such, making her have an advantage during the earlier parts of their training. But Morpheus was able to catch up soon because of his nature of having the [Chimera] blood running through his veins.

With both of them getting training day in and day out, they naturally developed skills and abilities that made them well rounded fighters but, if there was one thing that Zeke was not able to fully prepare them for, it was a warrior who was not only gifted in the art of combat but, also has a mountain's worth of battling experience compared to them.

That is the exact description of Sylph Windsprite. An elf who came from the royal bloodline. An archer prodigy. The youngest leader of the disbanded Wood Scouts. And now, for some reason, the Count of the Demon Continent.

Naturally, the fight began with both parties measuring each other up. Through her [Infinity Bow], Sylph was able to continue firing shots that prevented her enemies from coming closer. These weren't simply normal arrows of course but, ones infused with spells, making them even deadlier. On her hand was also a bow which wasn't the [Heirloom Bow] she inherited but instead, a weapon created by Glade for the elf. And, Heron could see a condensed amount of dark energy formed within it.

Of course, she didn't report it yet to Zeke. She thought that the gamer probably knew of this already and, what she needed to search for was a way to revert Sylph back to normal. Because, if they couldn't do this, and the fight reaches a dangerous turn for both her and Morpheus, then they'd have no other choice but to dispose of Sylph. Not that it would be an easy feat to accomplish even if they actually tried.

The soldiers around term couldn't help but be amazed at the fight that was unfolding before them. Even though they knew that the two were their enemies, some of the soldiers fell head over heels for Heron. This much was understandable because, if one didn't see her at death's door, then she would be nothing less than a natural beauty.

But their admiration soon wet back to fear as the [Dragon Morpher] unsheathed her long katana. She sliced every arrow that came in rapid succession, not missing a single one. Sylph increased her speed further, taking Morpheus into consideration as she fired at this enemy through her handheld bow.

The two companions of Zeke found themselves pushed to a corner instantly. They haven't released their full power of course but, they also knew that the enemy was in the same boat. Heron couldn't afford this and, used [Dragon Eyes]; allowing her to find an opening which she immediately took advantage of. Heron dashed immediately – aiming for the shoulder of the elf. But, Sylph was able to catch through. She used her handheld bow to parry the katana, swirling around Heron before kicking her in the gut - resulting in the [Dragon Morpher] spitting out blood.

Sylph would've followed through with another volley of arrows but, Morpheus entered the scene, swinging his weapon at Sylph who was forced to dodge this time around. At the same time, she was able to fire an arrow which exploded as soon as it got close to Morpheus.

"That was dangerous ma'am." He said, virtually undamaged as dragon-like scales showed on his skin, hiding them soon after.

"That doesn't seem to be the case at all." Sylph answered, smiling at the opponent lightly.

The air was still hostile and thick; making breathing difficult. But, the words they exchanged by the two were so casual that one would think they were simply friends who were sparing.

But at the next moment, Morpheus vanished from sight, only to reappear next to Sylph with his fist turned onto a wolves'. Sylph dodged this again but realized that, on the back of Morpheus, there was a tail sticking to the ground.

"Got you." He said, creating spikes that suddenly appeared below Sylph.

She was able to dodge this by using a wind spell that made her bounce upward. This wasn't the best course of action to take however as, Heron was already charging up an attack with her katana.

In the next second, it was Heron who now caught up; creating a slash. With the moves displayed by Sylph, there was no way for her to dodge this time. Herron would inevitably hit one of her shoulders; disabling the enemy entirely. But this didn't happen because Sylph also began to get serious.

"Agility"

"Focus"

"Precision"

"Air Walk"

All these skills were activated by Sylph at the same time. Her feet landed on an invisible flooring on the air and immediately pirouetted her body sidewards. She then used her bow to hit Heron's stomach once again, Sending her flying towards Morpheus who broke her fall.

The combination didn't end there however as, Sylph proceeded to creating a magic circle in the sky. While doing so, she fired fifteen explosive arrows that came in quick succession, preventing her enemies from moving away from their current location.

She then followed up with ice arrows, creating walls of thick ice that gave her a double assurance and, with all of these being set, her magic circle was also completed. Sylph proceeded immediately activated [Rain of Arrows] right then and there.

The barrage came as a vicious torrent, descending like god's judgments from the skies. Sylph followed this up by making two more magical circles on top of each other which, brought down more and more arrows towards the location of the two.

There was no other word to described what was happening than savage. It couldn't even be called a proper fight anymore because, Sylph ruthlessly killed her opponents in a series of perfectly executed attacks.

But it would take more than this to actually take down the two. In fact, with all the equipment provided by Zeke, the two could survive the attack. Somehow Sylph also felt this and so, she held the [Infinity Bow] on her hands, retracting the other one for the moment.

She then took mana from the surroundings, creating gales stronger than anything which Gawain was able to muster. There was a building up force that could take a whole mountain down and, her soldiers could feel it. Hence, they all retreated to Sylph's back as the female elf continued charging the attack.

"You don't have to play dead." Sylph said, knowing that if the two were really alive then, they'd do something in their power to dodge it.

"I'll kill you myself." She continued, releasing the attack while the triple casted [Rain of Arrows] still went on.

But, instead of the arrows piercing through, they were sent upwards, breaking the magic circles altogether. This was followed through by the shattered pieces of the ice wall being thrown to Sylph who took them down one by one using her arrows.

A mist slowly formed and, for a moment the soldiers felt a presence similar to the [Chaos Dragon]. No. that wasn't quite right. They felt something stronger than a [Chaos Dragon].

[Chaos Black Flames] was then shot at Sylph, emerging from the steam. But because her loyal soldiers were behind her, she didn't move an inch and instead, released a mass of wind so strong that it was able to hold off the flames. But this couldn't last for long.

"GET OUT OF HERE!" She shouted to her soldiers who immediately got the hint.

The attack went on for a while longer but as it did, Sylph also successfully defended her troops. She didn't let even a flicker of the flames hit her subordinates and, as soon as they cleared the area, she turned the wind into a razor sharp blade; cutting the flames in half and dispersing it altogether.

"Heron aren't you done analyzing her yet?" Morpheus asked, emerging out of the steam created by the flames melting the ice.

"I am, so we move to phase two now." Heron said in reply, making the smoke around the stronghold swirl where the duel was taking place. This came so abruptly and so violently that, there was no way for Sylph to get out.

"Shit they got me." Sylph said, feeling something familiar come her way as Heron finally activated:

"Cloud of Dreams."

The wind was so strong that one could hear it whisper. There was a gust but not as sharp as the soldiers thought it would be, nor was there any typhoon forming. Instead, they saw the clouds in the sky slowly get sucked up with the amount of clouds formed down below.

The soldiers wanted to assist their leader but, every time they tried charging in, they would only find themselves running outside the same direction from whence they entered. Without Heron's approval, they cannot enter her [Pocket Dimension] and so, they could do nothing but wait for the outcome.

Meanwhile, Sylph stayed alert even though there was nothing around her but white thick mist. She looked around but could sense no enemy and even if she could, she doubted if her senses would prove to be loyal to her at this point.

"Master said that something was up with you so I used my eyes to make a full analysis." Sylph tried to shoot at where the voice came from but, her arrows caught nothing but the wind.

"But the strange thing is that, there wasn't anything wrong with you at all. Aside from the fact that you have a corrupting weapon, you're still in your proper elements." Sylph tried shooting again, multiple directions this time, trying to feel the faintest amount of disruption in mana but again, her arrows found nothing but wind.

"So it begs the question… what turned Sylph Windsprite into a traitor's ally?"

"SHUT UP! YOU KNOW NOTHING" Sylvia said in rage, firring another set of arrows.

"Zeke… that bloody human plotted all of this! He fooled us all! Made us enter that weird dimension; only foreverything to be potted against us once we returned!" Sylph finished using her bow and decided to finally go into her ultimate form.

"But you won't understand. None of you would!" She said, releasing a wave of dark mana around Heron's domain.

None of what Sylph said made sense because, Heron was always by Zeke's side. There was no chance for the human to ever plot something against Sylph nor any other person. What made things even weirder was how Sylph believed all this like it was reality.

"Morpheus, we have a chance to get her back." Heron said to her companion who was already prepared to make a move.

"Yeah. So what do we do now?" Her companion answered, seeing Sylph transform into what seemed to be a black knight.

"That's simple. We beat her until she can't fight anymore."
