Chapter 111: Remedial Test

Name:The Gamer's System Author:Campoccino
Unlike in the previous run, Zeke doesn't have any named [Conjures] yet. In fact, most of his previous [Conjures] got wiped out except for Samael. However, the restriction still remains on this creature as, he can only summon it once he reaches [Level 100].

Hence, all that Zeke has are the [Conjured] version of all the opponents he defeated thus far. Mostly being Glade's soldiers within the demon continent. But, Zeke knew that these would be enough for the test he has in mind for the Elites.

They went back to the same area but this time, Heron is there to provide more protection. Zeke believes that the test may go out of control because of the slight training received by the humans from his two subordinates. This theory is further strengthened by the fact that Quinn and Kaguya are now with them – the humans who caused the most trouble for the demon general they faced.

"Okay here's the deal, I'll listen to some of your requests if you can beat all my summoned creatures." Zeke said, stretching his body. He still fears that something may go wrong if he unleashes his power soon after recovering and so, he decided to use his [Conjures] instead.

"You mean the same guys that mopped the floor with us? Wait that's wrong, I mean the guys who mopped the floor using us." Lizzie replied.

"Yes, but I don't' think the results would be that similar this time around. Although that all depends on how you fight." Zeke continued and with this, a hand was raised from the crowd.

"What is this a school class?" Zeke said to himself before he replied: "Go on."

Quinn came forward, wearing his normal armor. He already activated the new job class and, Zeke is excited to see how it'll turn out with the upcoming fight.

"Can you give us at least five minutes to get a strategy going?" Quinn said in a manerful yet authoritative tone.

"Listen kid, in a real battle, you don't ask an ambushing group of enemies to wait. You strike with what you have and hope that you and your teammates are working on the same page." Zeke replied. This much made sense but, Quinn still insisted.

"Yes, but usually, those who perform sneak attacks are weak. That's why they need to sneak in order to gain an advantage." Quinn replied and, Zeke smiled at this.

"So are you saying that you are weaker than my [Conjures]?" Zeke asked.

"That depends on the results. But with what Lizzie said, it's obvious that those things won last time correct? So yes. I guess we are weaker." Quinn answered, getting annoyed about the fact that he needs to admit losing a battle he didn't fight.

"Okay kid, then how do you explain the movements of creatures like lions who wait for an opportunity to pounce at their prey? You're not telling me that lions are inferior to gazelles, right?" Zeke's mind is actually made up on giving them time to prepare. But he wants to see how the leader of the elites would answer his question.

"That's because lions are inferior." Quinn replied.

"Ohh?"

"A gazelle may outrun it. A group of bulls may stampede. A rabbit may hide in a hole. A lion is inferior to it because if it isn't then there's no need to sneak upon its prey. If it is as fast, as crafty, or as many, then it'll strike without hiding anything." Quinn continued and at this, Zeke smiled, agreeing with all that Quinn said.

"Five minutes. After that, we'll be resuming training." With this Zeke turned around and the group smiled at Quinn who masterfully delivered the message.

"Who knew you could make him change his minds." Jake began.

"I didn't. From the beginning he wanted to give us time to prepare." Quinn said, looking at Zeke's elven form – talking to both Heron and Morpheus.

"He just wanted to test me out." Quinn continued, laying out the plan for the whole group to execute.

Exactly five minutes passed after this and, Zeke is already standing in the middle of the battleground to be used. He already explained all the rules to the group and he didn't bother repeating them again.

Meanwhile, Heron began creating another thick mist which hindered any skill from coming out of the field. Zeke amplified this, making the skill also block all noise and vibration.

"Shall we get started?" Zeke said, with all members of the elites getting into place. Again, he grinned in excitement as he said…

"Conjure."

A thick blue mist covered the whole area where they stood. Flames of blue light covered the ground and, out of it came all the creatures possessed by Zeke Elwood. Right now, each of his soldier is as powerful as a Vice-General because of all the aura buffs that Zeke has. Aside from this, through Zeke's conjure merge, he was able to create 10 creatures on the same level as base formed generals.

"Seriously, everything all at once?" Jake replied, viewing the whole army coated in blue – their eyes glowing a yellow color while Zeke's eyes burned crimson.

"I'll give you thirty minutes. If you can survive within that time then I'll continue taking you under my wing. But if you die, then there's no point in making you my allies." Zeke said as he finally instructed his conjures:

"Devour."

Flames soon shot up from the sky as the [Chaos Wyverns] circled around the elites. Riding on them are soldiers using bows and arrows, with each strike releasing an explosion of blue flames.

The five defenders immediately performed the same formation, making sure that the healers are well defended while the larger portion of them focused on covering for the whole group. This time however, they didn't need one defender per healer. In fact, Vorst is the only defender guarding the two as he acquired the new skill [Absolute Defense] which linked all defensive abilities he uses to the two healers.

Lizzie amplified this and, unlike before, she can multiply the attributes of 5 teammates instead of just two. Hence, she immediately used one on Vorst – making his skill extend to Quinn, Jake, Mirio, and Kaguya who stormed through the ranks of monsters.

Meanwhile, their archers focused on taking down the [Chaos Wyvern Riders] which was a bit tricky. Arrows have a difficulty finding their target because of the wind produced by the [Wyverns] but, that lack has been overcome. Both archers have acquired a [Wind Immunity] skill and, not only this, they can even infuse wind on the arrows shot, creating a kind of vacuum that increased the amount of strength each arrow has depending on the time before impact.

Two [Chaos Wyvern Riders] soon fell to the ground with their mounts. The wings of the beasts have been destroyed and, soon enough, they vanished.

"So they do use their brains." Zeke said to himself, witnessing the growth of the elites in such a short amount of time; one day to be exact.

Meanwhile, Kaguya has used the same ability she used during the previous fight. [Darkness Veil] allowed her to be infused with Dark Mana. Zeke would've worried but, he saw how the output is decreased, making the skill both stable and have a longer time of staying active.

She perfectly handled 10 soldiers coming her way and, together with Mordred to back her up, there was no [Conjured] creature that could sneak up on them.

"You guys did a good job of training them. I'm actually surprised." Zeke said to Heron and Morpheus.

"That's rude dad! We learned how to train effectively from you so of course it'd work!" Zeke brushed Morpheus' hair who sat on his lap. The child pouted at him, making Zeke want to tease him more.

"They could only grow if we pushed them to their limits. Unfortunately for your conjures, they have been outgrown by these humans." Heron continued, proud of the results of their training; although short lived.

"Yeah well, their new skills still need to be sharpened. They're too excessive with the usage and their movements, it's such an eyesore." Zeke said, still feeling that a lot of improvements could still be made by Zeke.

The fight continued and, this time, it is Mirio who showcased his new skill, proving Zeke wrong. He thought of how he could enhance himself even without using [Ring] because, the skill is too limited to be useful. And, his character type gave this answer by providing him a new skill called, [Internal Ring].

This ability allowed Mirio to sustain the triple status buff effect for a longer period of time. And this time, he is not limited to a single enemy The only setback is that, it cannot contain an enemy nor could it be used to chain the buff to other allies.

This didn't matter though because, with the short training Heron has given them, there is no need to do anything of the sort. Adding to this skill is [Gauntlet], a buff which allowed Mirio's whole fist and brass knuckles to be as hard as the shield of the defenders, giving him a way to defend himself from attacks.

Then, Zeke's eyes shifted to Jake. There wasn't that big of a gap between Jake and Mirio. In fact, with Jake's experience, he knew that what he needed the most was to act even quicker and a way to always have his javelin with him. Hence, he developed two skills including, [Javelin Blink], and [Overdrive].

He threw his weapon at one soldier, completely destroying its head. The javelin, got buried to the ground and, Jake used [Javelin Blink], sending him to the location of his weapon right away. He followed this up with [Overdrive]. This skill allowed his mind to work [10x] faster than normal, making his body move based on his brain's commands. Hence, Jake executed his next movements seamlessly, making him able to destroy all the enemies nearby before resuming normal control over both mind and body.

"Not bad." Zeke said as he again shifted his attention and, this time toward the leader of the Elites. He had a particular interest on the human because of his job class [Avarice].

Quinn moved through every enemy without missing a beat, swapping from one skill to the next while also combining some skills based on the number of opponents and the situation. He continued going on the offense without ever being forced to defend himself.

"Internal Ring." Quinn said, boosting all his attributes as he rushed toward the general leveled [Conjures].

"Darkness Veil." He added, making all his enemies fall to the pit of darkness he quickly created. Unlike Kaguya however, he cannot use it to its full potential as he is not blessed by the goddess Nisha.

Then, his weapon turned into a lance with shadow like mana oozing out of it. His whole armor is clad in darkness and, he did not even have any hesitation as he dashed toward the general ranked conjure.

His opponent noticed his presence immediately and, with its gigantic sword, tried to hack Quinn down. The human used [Overdrive] making his movements transcend human limitations. He jumped up the sword as he let go of his lance and then, summoned dual blades which he used to slash through the neck of his enemy.

Quinn followed through with [Detonates] on all the wounds. Then, used [Weapon Blink] to come back to his lance while activating the [Detonate] – making his enemy explode. Quinn added the finishing touches to the combination by pouring all of [Darkness Veil] unto the lance. He followed by using [Strength Enhance] before finally throwing his lance to the enemy.

Immediately, the conjure got destroyed and so did two other general leveled [Conjures] nearby. After this, Quinn stepped on top of his weapon and glanced at Zeke before continuing the one-sided destruction he brought.

"Cheeky bastard." Zeke said as he smiled in excitement.
