65 Oh Shi

The Commander of the Vanguard fleet, Commander Omar Najjar is a fifty year veteran of the Empire's Grand Imperial Navy.

He is one of the Commanders who are responsible for one of the Empires Fast response fleets. The Empire does possess more than a few hundred thousand of such fleet, always on the ready to be called upon for a myriad of reasons.

In all of his years of duty, he saw hundreds of worlds collapse after the Empire took notice of them and intervenes due to their emergent status.

Through the thousands of years of the Empires history, they have conquered a vast amount of worlds both within their own dimension's galactic universe and through the other dimensions that they have decided to invade.

On the Earth's that they have invaded in other dimensions, the remaining human population is turned into the Empires manual labour. The people or sometimes other sentient beings are tasked to mine their own world's materials until there is nothing left.

A small part of Commander Omar's brain feels sorry for the people of this planet.

In the next few hours from now, all of them will either be dead or be part of the Empires new set of slaves.

Commander Omar is looking at the status report of his fleet. His XO just reported that all their ships have successfully made through the dimensional jump.

He immediately checked his console and verified all the ship's status.

Aside from Flagship the Osiris, he is in command of a hundred other capital ships.

His Flagship is a Dragonov Class Imperial Battleship. It is a thousand meters long and is equipped with the Empires latest weaponry. It is also protected by one of the most powerful defensive shields that the Empire has ever produced.

It was his family's proudest moment when he was awarded the command of such a magnificent vessel.

Unfortunately, his Flagship is the only Battleship class in his fleet. He has five battle cruiser and fifteen Heavy cruisers both ships are well beyond Eight hundred meters each. He also has thirty Heavy Destroyers and the rest are a mix of Light Destroyers and Fast Frigates.

Compared to the vast Armada of the Empires main fleets who have a few thousand Battleships in their roster, fast response fleets like the one he command can only bring this much mostly smaller vessels due to their need to travel faster through the Dimensional wormhole.

Traversing dimensions are not something that can be taken lightly. One must be very careful and knowledgeable to safely get through safely.

The larger the fleet is the slower their travel time will be if they wish to get every ship to the other side intact.

In the early ages of the Empires expansion, it is not uncommon for a whole fleet of a thousand ships to be destroyed or be lost forever in the dimensional wormholes.

That is the reason why the Empire uses Vanguard fleets, its main purpose is allow the Empire to establish a beach head on the enemy dimension, but is also used to map out the safest route for the main invasion force to take.

Commander Omar is lazily checking the last report that the scout ship sent out before it was destroyed.

It was in the process of reporting the destruction of the Emigrants' capital City when its communication with the Home world's Fleet command was cut off.

Suddenly, loud alarms started ringing off throughout the ship.

Their main scanner just detected around one thousand five hundred enemy capital ships entering their Fleet's detection range.

Aside from the staggering number of capital ships, the enemy is surrounded by almost a hundred thousand small attack ships.

Commander Oman suddenly has a very bad premonition.

"How the hell did they amass such a large number of ships in such a very short time?"
