6 Slavers

A system notification suddenly showed up.

"Player level up!"

"Congratulations 3 skill points awarded."

He opened his player status window.

Name: Adam Black

"Hmm, so killing a zombie gives me experience."

He switched to the skills window.

Having experienced the capabilities of the drone, he decided that having an army of it can create a safe area for Adam.

Just thinking of having 100 of these little fellows surrounding him makes him excited.

He opened his Skill page then checked his current skills.

Skill: "Observe"

Level: 1

Passive: Allows the user to view the HP bar above the target's head.

Active: Shows the basic information of the target. Current level only allows user to use the skill on a single target.

Cool down: 5 mins.

Next level: User can have more target information. Skill can be used on objects or items.

Skill: "Dash"

Level: 2

This skill allows the user to dash in one direction. Gains additional movement speed while skill is active.

Range: 10 meters

Cooldown: 55 seconds.

Next level: Range 15 meters. User can change direction 1 time while skill is active.

Skill: "Drone"

Level: 3

Summon and command a permanent autonomous drone. Can set unit to self desdruct.

Max unit: 3

Cooldown: 5 min.

Next level: Max unit +1

He thought about it for a bit then added 3 points to "Drone".

He noticed that its already getting dark. The sun is almost set.

Satisfied with his progress and with the lack of other plans, Adam decided to move back to the house for the night.

The sound of gunfire woke Adam the next day.

The quiet neighborhood that he was in for the last week transformed into a scene from a old western movie.

Adam took a peek through the window and saw a 3 vehicle convoy barrelling through the streets. Leading it is a black SUV and there's a guy standing through the sunroof and he's firing a roof mounted machine gun towards the zombies in front.

There are two trucks that are trailing the SUV. At the back of the first trucks is a cage. He saw five people in chains in it. He noted the almost all of them are females. They are clearly slaves.

The last truck is full of armed soldiers. From Adams estimate around 20 people armed with different kinds of guns. Different kinds of shotguns and rifles.

"So these guys are slavers."

Adam subconciously checked his drones. There are 2 drones inside the house and 4 rotating outside.

Last night, after playing around with the drones other functions, he set the drones to patrol inside the property.

The "Drone" skill is now level 6. Aside from the max number now being 6. The other notable change is the distance it can now be from Adam.

It can stay 300 meters out, however the height it can reach is still maxed at 100 meters.

The convoy stopped at the intersection. Roughly around 5 to 6 houses away from Adam.

He observed as the people from the last truck disembarked and spread out. They seems to be really used to this maneuver since it didn't take them long to secure the perimiter.

The lead car set a sentry point in the corner of the street and firing at the few zombies that stumbles towards the group.

Adam noticed a man who looks to be in command, he's giving orders to a small group of people and pointing towards the houses along Adam's street.

He saw the five armed men moved to the nearest house in a quick pace. Weapons drawn and alert.

Around 20 minutes later. The group came out with a few boxes of what look like a bunch of canned food.

"So aside from being slavers, these guys are looting the houses as well."

He observed them again as they repeated the process and moved on to the next house.

The sounds of sporadic machinegun fire from the SUV is still loudly heard.

The force surrounding the 3 vehicles have now established a secure perimeter.

Deep down he knows that its not safe to keep on waiting here. He needs to do something about this.

Thinking about his situation he boils it down to 2 options.

1. Escape! He can flee the house and move away from the slavers. If he wants too, he can always go back to the house later once they moved on.

2. He can kill them all before they reach the house.

Normally, Adam would go for the 1st option. Its non-confrontational.

However, he can still feel the power of killing his targets yesterday. And having a better anderstanding of his weapons capabilities, he decided to take option two.

Besides! If he cant take them all before they get to his house, he can still use his drones to scout the area and find a safe way to flee.
