Chapter 54 - Training

Chapter 54: Training

"Hey, system, show me Lily's training," Aakesh asked the system to show him Lily's training since he had nothing to do currently except waiting for her.

The next moment, a black screen appeared in front of him and started showing the training from the start.

After selecting her training area, Lily appeared in the familiar jungle. "I am here," She yelled in her childlike voice, unlike the previous times where she waited for the other cats to come.

"Look, who's here," The next moment, a laughing female voice echoed as a cat appeared.

"You look happy today, tiny creature," The cat said after seeing a wide grin on Lily's face. Other cats also started appearing in the area.

"Oh, is that so," Lily casually responded as her grin only got wider.

"You!" The cat said as she saw the casual response of Lily.

"You look happy today, my child," A familiar voice echoed in the area as the leader of the Epochal Felines appeared in the center of the jungle.

"Yes, leader, I learned a new skill," Lily respectfully responded. She couldn't act casual around the leader due to the respect embedded in her bloodline.

"Oh, is that so. Tell me, what does your new skill do?" The leader asked as getting a new skill wasn't anything special. Lily still had to learn a lot of skills belonging to their race.

"My new skill name is 'Time Displacement'..." She then started explaining the skill to the leader and other cats. Other cats had a casual look on their faces at the start, but as they listened to the details about the skill, their faces turned solemn. They looked at Lily with their mouth wide open.

Lily enjoyed the look of shock on other cats, so her grin got even wider, resulting in her face looking weird.

"Are you serious about the skill?" The leader had no mood to joke around after listening to the details of the skill, so she asked Lily for confirmation with a solemn face.

Lily nodded and activated the skill. Nothing changed in the area, but every cat present in the jungle had its jaw dropped. They could clearly see the change.

"You did it, child. You didn't disappoint me," The leader started laughing while a single drop of tear streamed down her cheeks. Lily finally learned a skill that no Epochal Feline had learned, and that too was not an ordinary skill. Time Displacement would be one of the top three skills that Epochal Felines had.

One of the cats stepped forward and picked up Lily. "Forgive me, Lily," The cat then apologized to her for bullying. It was only the start. Other cats also started apologizing for their mistakes.

Aakesh turned off the screen at that moment with a proud look on his face. There was no point in continuing to watch Lily's training. He then sat down in a meditative pose and started visualizing the details of today's battle.

Whenever he remembered the skill, he shuddered. He tried to think of many ways to counter the attack, but no plan came to his mind. In every situation with him facing that attack, the end result was always death.

After thinking for some time, he could only think of a single way to counter the attack. For that, he needed to increase his shooting speed. The next moment, he stood up and selected another area where he could improve his shooting speed.

The next moment, he appeared in a jungle surrounded by beasts numbering in hundreds. In this training, the beast would rush at him, and if he wanted to survive, he needed to kill every beast using his arrows. With every passing round, the number of beasts would increase, making his survival difficult.

He had challenged this training arena several times, so passing the first few rounds was easy for him. He could shoot hundreds of arrows in a second, precisely, 568 arrows per second.

Time passed, the number of beasts surrounding Aakesh increased to 400 thousand. He was sweating hard as his hooting speed couldn't cope up with the numbers of the beasts. The only way to kill them was using his arrow, so if some of them reached closer to him, they would bite him down to death unless he changed his direction.

As expected, the beast overwhelmed him. He gave up as he didn't want to see him getting eaten. The next moment, the challenge restarted. Time passed, he failed this challenge tens of times. His shooting speed was also increasing with every round. His current speed was 634 arrows per second if he gave his everything.

Time flew by. He was currently fighting a horde of 500 thousand beasts. He had been trying to pass this round for the last hour, but he failed every time. Since he had unlimited endurance, he still fought as if Aakesh had just started, but he still stopped. He couldn't see him improving anymore for the last few rounds, so he stopped and decided to train tomorrow.

After deciding, he gave up the round and reappeared in the selection ground. Lily was already waiting for him. Seeing Aakesh returning, she jumped on his head.

"You look happy," He smilingly said, seeing the smile on Lily's face.

"Yes, my training went great," She responded and then started telling him about her training. As usual, she removed the parts about other cats in her story.

"Did you win?" She asked after finishing her story.

"No, but I challenged him today, unlike before," He answered the truth. There was no point in hiding anything about training from Lily. The next moment, they both disappeared from the selection ground and appeared in their room.

"Damn it! Where could the store owner be?" Twinkle cursed as she had been waiting for hours now, and there was no information about the store owner.

"What did the king say?" She asked Johnny as he had just returned after informing the king about the missing store owner.

"The store owner is nowhere to be found, so we will have to wait here until they find him," He responded while shaking his head in disappointment.. He was the army chief, and here he was acting as a lookout for a criminal.
