Chapter 86: The bun selling Uncle is SUS!

No sooner had they entered inside the boundary of the vineyard city, a middle aged man dressed in normal clothing approached them out of nowhere.

Since the man approached out of nowhere, Le fang ling immediately became cautious. The man smiled showing all of his teeth and held out the thing he was holding in his hands.

"Welcome young miss, will you be willing to try this?"

A steaming bun appeared in front of them and the rich aroma from the bun permeated the air. Even the brownish and golden color of the bun was attractive enough for them to drool just  by looking at it.

"A bite is  all it gonna take, heh." The shopkeeper saw the look in their face and knew that a little push was all it gonna take for him to make them try his buns.

As for Le fang Ling and Nagina, they would have loved to try this bun which looked nothing like what they ate in the sect canteen but!

They were short on money as of now. After finding the places they needed to stay and of course after buying what they came for, she would love to splurge money to her fullest but that had to wait.

"Thank you dear sir, but I would have to say no." She smiled politely as she rejected the offer from him.

"Hmm?" he curled up his lips in a worried look which immediately changed to look of disappointment when he saw the color of her robes.

"Oh, so you are only an outer court disciple." He shook his head with a bitter expression. Le fang ling did not say anything as she simply bowed down to him in courtesy and was about to walk away when he suddenly cried out to them.

"Stop young misses."

Just as he was about to walk away as well, he saw the look of wanting in Nagina's face which she had thought she had hidden well but, her childish and innocent face gave her away.

"Today, we have  a special festival here since we are harvesting our grapes." He proceeded to continue.

"Since you two are new here, and I see that you two are pretty young misses I will make  special exception for both of you."

His smile remained intact as he hands them the bun in his hand.

Le Fang Ling was a little cautious of the man suddenly showing interest in them. Although she had made sure to cover Nagina with a cloak to attract less attention, she was still not sure if it was doing them any favor.

'Are, are we gonna take it?' Nagina's voice echoed inside her head as the little snake girl asked for  her opinion.

'Hmm,' Le Fang Ling was a little against taking something that was given to them freely. Although he appeared as good as an angle there was no saying if he was as poisonous as  a snake.

"….."

'Oh, I mean you know, he is so smooth and slippery with his words that I might think he was trying to make us slip in to one of his scheme.'

"Mr. uncle, I thank you for your kindness but," she  was trying ti decline when he pushed the bun forward right into their face.

"I insist," he smiled.

"Just consider it as your festival gift from a small uncle from this city." The man became serious about what he was saying and the smile on his face appeared more sincere than before.

'Well then, time to use the skill on him.'

After taking a closer look at the screen in front of her, Le Fang Ling took out her purse and brought out two bronze coins.

"Sir, here is the payment for the bun," she handed him the coin with one hand while the others took the bun he was holding.

"I really appreciate your kindness uncle, but I will pay for it."

Before he even had a chance to refuse, she had shoved the coins in his hand and was walking away with the small girl.

"They were a weird pair." He thought to himself while looking at the coins in his hand.

...

"Host, why did you pay for it when he was giving it for free?" Nagina could not understand why she did something that did not benefit her.

From any angle she looked, it seemed a little too foolish to her to pay for something that was coming free of cost.

"It just didn't feel right to not pay for something he worked hard for."

Le fang ling patted her head as they made way to one of the cheapest looking inn in the area.

..

"That will cost you 10 bronze coins." A woman dressed in a revealing clothes that showed most of her bosom and shoulder along with her deep cleavage said as she chewed a herb in her mouth.

She had worn a thick black eye liner which outlined her eyes making them look bigger and more intimidating.

Her dark red lips which opened once in a while to speak emitted bitter and pungent smell of the herb she was chewing.

Le Fang Ling scrunched her nose in disgust at the smell. It even made her want to throw up a little.

"Host, I don't feel so well." Nagina whose sense of smell was almost on par with a real snake was feeling dizzy just with the smell.

"Are you taking the room or not?" She inquired them when they started to talk among themselves.

"If you aren't taking then I suggest you leave. We have many people looking for place to stay." She showed sign of disdain at them.

"Almost all the other inns are filled as we have many guests coming from all over the places for the harvest festival." She leaned on the counter while continuing to chew on the herb.

.

"We will take it." Le Fang Ling placed the coins on the counter and took the key to their room.

The owner lady narrowed her eyes at Nagina who was covered from head to toe with a black cloak but soon her interest died when she waved off it as her weird sense of fashion.

'Not everyone can be fashionable as me now, can they?' she licked her lips and winked at one of the male customer who was drinking wine in the canteen lounge.

As for Le Fang Ling, she was more than happy with this place which was 10X time better than her rented place back home.

Also, she had no plans to go and search for new place to stay since it was almost night while dragging Nagina with her.
