Chapter 57: There is Something I want to ask

"These birds are humungous." Le Fang Ling exclaimed looking at the statues of the two big birds that seemed to be hovering over them. It could have been her illusion but she thought the eyes on the statue were following their steps.

"They are engraved after the Vermillion birds that inhabited this mountain when this continent was formed." An Cheng explained about the statues.

"Aren't they here anymore?" le Fang Ling wondered what would happen if these birds still inhabited the cold mountains here.

"No one knows for sure. It's more like hmm.." An Cheng was thoughtful for a while as she thought about what could be the best way to describe what she wanted to say.

"The four great beasts, after which the provincial capitals are named, are just myth now. No one knows for sure if they exist anymore or not." An Cheng thought about the dragon valley in the east which was also devoid of the azure dragon's existence and blessings.

"Either they have completely disappeared from the whole world or they could be hiding in their dimensions, secluding themselves." An Cheng kicked a pebble that was right at her feet and kicked it away.

"So, basically, there is a chance for these great beasts to return  someday huh?" Nagina asked as if trying to confirm something.

"There is always a chance for anything to happen." Le Fang Ling answered her as she thought about how unreal her reincarnation was but that did not mean, it never happened.

"I will have to see about this." Nagina nodded her small round head and simply rested on her shoulder again.

"You are one inquisitive little snake." An Cheng chuckled in low voice but even with her lowering her volume to the minimum, it still echoed throughout the empty and dark cave and it sounded creepy.

An Cheng: "....", Why do I sound like a braying donkey that is on verge of death?

"I guess we should stop talking for a while." She let out an exhausted sigh and started walking, with her back slouched down a little.

'Heh..' Le Fang Ling saw all of her actions and felt amused at how strict and mature she was at times but she still had this precious childish side to her.

"Your laughter is cute, Senior sister." She decided to tease her a bit as she spoke in a lower whisper. Since her voice was an octave lower as compared to An Cheng's, it sounded a little deep and sexy.

"Sh-hut up." She threw dragger eyes at Le Fangling when she heard the playfulness in it. She knew she was being teased by her junior sister, and it was making her feel embarrassed.

"Okay~~~" Le Fang Ling winked at her playfully but she did what she was told to do. After that, they continued to walk in silence for quite a while.

The tunnel they were walking through soon started to get narrower as they reached the exit. Even the amount of stones that were lying around grew in number.

Nagina who had been lazing around on her shoulder and simply swaying her tail as she enjoyed the free ride suddenly raised her head and looked right in front of her.

The light from the glowing pebbles and stones that were stuck on the roof and the wall of the cave reflected on her smooth white scale, making her look like a divine being that descended on the earth.

"This is.." Nagina looked at the bright light at the end of the tunnel and her voice trailed off.

Her sudden alertness also alarmed Le Fang Ling. She heard her speak something but since she ended it midway, Le fang ling could not hear her.

"What is it?" She asked her but she could guess what could have been the matter. Even though her internal vessels and channels seemed to have been sealed off by the sealing for action on her stomach, she could still feel the tremendous aura that had heavily surrounded the region beyond the exit of the tunnel.

"Are you afraid? Or rather, hmm, excited?" Le Fang Ling turned sideways to look at Nagina who was concentrating on the place before them.

"Neither, honestly. I am only curious because this feels different from Pond of Sasha but also feels the same for some reason." Nagina gave a vague answer. She did not even filch her eyes as she continued to look forward.

An Cheng had already walked to the exit point of the tunnel and was waiting for them to arrive.

"You ready?" She giggled in excitement as she blocked the way out with her body.

"Yes." Both Nagina and Le Fang Ling answered in unison. An Cheng smirked at their response and stepped away from the place she was standing at.

"It's all yours for to see now. Go on." She leaned back on the wall of the cave and motioned to both of them to go forward.

Le Fang Ling did not know what to expect but she could not wait to see it.

Taking a deep breath, she stepped inside the boundary of the place that held the most precious treasure of the Eternal Blossom Sect.

"What are you thinking about?" Elder Lin placed down the talisman she was catching and asked the girl who was laying on the bed.

"Elder Lin.." Le Fang Ling was staring at the ceiling in front of her listlessly but her mind was continuously working and thinking about what she saw at the bottom of the cave.

"Yes, You can ask me anything if you have a question." Elder Lin nodded her head.

She looked out of the window and saw that it was still full moon today and heaved a sigh of relief. What she was going to do was going to have her use a lot of her spiritual energy and yin essence.

She also had studied the talisman given to her by the suspicious guy that she met in the western province.

"You don't think it's strange that my elixir field is different?" Le Fang Ling wanted to know what Elder Lin thought about it.

"What are you trying to imply?" Elder Lin asked as she crossed her arms right in front of her chest.

"There is something I want to check." Le Fangling replied as she thought about her failed assessment test from the morning while she stared at Elder Lin.
