When Cassandra gave him the stink eye, Rufus suddenly feared he might have gone a bit too far.

Doctor Li had made every warning to him to manage Cassandra's emotions carefully. It was imperative that Cassandra was often in a good mood. Now, why the hell was he doing the exact opposite?

"Ahem..." Rufus cleared his throat, in a futile attempt to clear the air.

"Cassandra...Cassandra, wait. Before you get angry, let me tell you a little story," Rufus said, carefully approaching the little woman.

Cassandra, in truth, wasn't really angry. Her eyes were wide open as she replied, "Fine. Tell me the story. If I get sleepy, I'll go to sleep."

'How can I tell him that I'm not the least bit sleepy! I'm wide awake! But I could tell that he badly wants me to rest. Then being the good wife, I'll satisfy his wish, ' Cassandra thought.

Rufus was scouring his mind for stories that he remembered as a kid. He had never done such a thing for someone else. No matter how hard he scanned his memories, he just couldn't find one.

"Cassandra, what kind of story do you want to hear?" Rufus asked, carefully.

Cassandra smiled knowingly. It was obvious he just improvised and it backfired on him.

"Well, how about you find one online and then read it to me," she suggested.

Rufus swiftly took out his phone and began delving into the web. Too many results popped out, and he didn't know what to choose.

"This one, 'The Little Prince.'" Cassandra then made a random choice for him.

Rufus didn't really care what story to tell. It was a good thing Cassandra went ahead and decided for him. He then clicked the link and began to read the first chapter.

Studying Rufus's almost sculpted face, Cassandra fell into a daze.

His voice was so deep, sexy and almost enchanting.

"But he would always answer, 'That's a hat.' Then I wouldn't talk about boa constrictors or jungles or stars. I would put myself on his level and talk about bridge and golf and politics and neckties. And my grown-up was glad to know such a reasonable person..." When Rufus read the line, the petite woman's eyes lit up.

'She might be amused by the little prince's imagination, ' Rufus thought.

While reading, Rufus studied Cassandra expressions from time to time, secretly hoping to see signs of her about to doze off. However the little woman seemed to have no intention of sleeping at all.

Instead, the more he read to her, the more energized she seemed to be.

Lips twitching, Rufus had no choice but to continue on.

"If someone loves a flower of which just one example exists among all the millions and millions of stars, that's enough to make him happy...But if the sheep eats the flower, then for him it's as if, suddenly, all the stars went out..."

To Rufus, Cassandra was the flower that was eternally more important than the millions of stars. She was fragile, but she was his entire world.

Rufus thought that this could go on forever, so he abruptly stopped and asked her, "Darling, aren't you sleepy yet?"

Cassandra blink innocently and playfully answered, "I'm not sleepy at all, dear."

Rufus asked helplessly, "So, do you want me to keep on reading?"

Cassandra nodded enthusiastically. "Yes, yes! Quickly!"

Rufus then tapped the link for the next chapter and kept on reading.

After reading a few more c

Jean Wen sacrificed herself for family interests. Before her husband divorced her, she made every effort to please him.

"You are inexperienced in bed," he said coldly.

"You! Give that land to my family, or I won't agree to divorce," Jean replied furiously.

"Fine. It is exactly what I am thinking about," he sneered.

me."

Clearly embarrassed, Cassandra tried to defend Rufus, "It's not at all Rufus's fault. My body's just like this. I just can't gain any more weight."

Michelle smirked. "Come on now. I was just joking! Don't be so serious." She peered at the all the ingredients on the table and proclaimed, "I'll cook dinner. You sit there, please. Just rest."

She then started to take the bags towards the kitchen. "Let me assist you," Rufus said hurriedly, following her into the kitchen.

Michelle rejected the help, "There's really no need. Your job right now is to be with Cassandra."

She then glared at the person who was innocently watching TV while devouring fruits, and yelled, "Jasper! Come and help! Right now!"

The moment Michelle finished yelling, it was like he materialized in the kitchen in his hurry.

Smiling at the couple, Rufus sat down beside Cassandra and helped her peel some fruits.

"I think...Uncle Jasper is scared of his wife," Cassandra mumbled with her mouth full of fruit.

Passing Cassandra the fruit he had just peeled, Rufus answered casually, "He's not the only one. I know someone who feels the same way."

"Really? You know someone?" Cassandra wondered and asked. "Who is it? Oh, oh! Is it Victor? Hmmm, I don't think so. He fights with Stella every day. He's not afraid..."

Cassandra made a few guesses, but she then quickly proved herself wrong. In the end, she was out of ideas. "You're silly, sweetheart! The person is right in front of you!" Rufus teased.

The petite woman was surprised and asked in wide eyes, "Wait, you're scared of me?"

Rufus nodded with a serious expression. "Yes. Yes and yes. I absolutely fear my wife."

Cassandra rolled her eyes at Rufus. "Humph! You don't fear your wife!"

Rufus furrowed his eyebrows and asked, "Why'd you say that? Come on, tell me. Did I ever force you to do anything you didn't want to?"

When he said that, he immediately thought of something. "Okay, fine. There's that one thing. When you said you didn't want to do it at night, I didn't listen and forced you to have sex with me. But in the end, it only proved that you... also wanted it."

Cassandra's face turned scarlet as a tomato. "Stop that, will you!"
