Rufus clamped his teeth down and slowly settled to a rhythmic grind. It was his only way of staying calm. He kept telling himself not to let Chester get to him. Chester didn't come all this way just to tell him about the past. He definitely had a hidden agenda—to draw Rufus to his side.

"I'm not the kind of person who dwells on the past, but you kept reminding me. I really think that I should hate you now, and proceed to crush you since you've been harassing my member companies. They've been telling me how hard it is to work now. So tell me, should I hate you? Or is it just me?" Rufus replied.

He clenched his hands tight, his nails biting on the soft skin of his palms, but he smiled at the man as if he was talking with an old friend.

"I know you lost money since the harassment started, but Clark wanted to kill us! It's way worse!"

This just confirmed Chester's intentions. He wanted so badly to provoke Rufus. He knew Rufus and Clark didn't get along, so he thought he could turn them against each other if he pushed the right buttons.

"It's all said and done, Chester. You're done here. Now you can show yourself to the door!"

Rufus had no intention of prolonging this interaction any more than necessary, so he asked him to leave.

"Alright! But Rufus, I feel like it's my obligation to warn you about Clark. He'll come for you one day, and you can be sure of that. You really think he'll just leave you alone?" Chester barked.

He refused to believe that Rufus had disregarded Clark. The scar on his face moved as he spat his words, and it vaguely resembled a large centipede crawling on his face. It would certainly frighten any kid if they witnessed it.

"Now, that is none of your goddamn business, Mr.

"Do you know what you did wrong? It's alright if you just wanted to own me. But you should not have helped Molly leave me!"

When Brian learns the truth, there is no chance for Hannah to win his heart.

Molly, who wants to run away from Brian, seems to be the only one to blame for Hannah's misfortune...

e kitchen with you pulling me from behind?"

Cassandra complained every small step of the way towards the kitchen.

"Oh, really? If that's the case, how about I carry you on my back?"

He let out a light chuckle by her ear and still leaned against her.

"Just leave me alone! Do you even want to have dinner?"

With severely limited movement, Cassandra could do nothing but just stand there defeated, wondering why Rufus would cling to her like plastic wrap.

"Oh, I'm fine! A light dinner would do!" Rufus said.

On the other hand, Rufus felt it impossible for him to let her go. He felt so content and fulfilled the moment he took Cassandra into his arms whenever he came home from a hard day at work. They had already spent too much time apart, and now he swore he would make every moment count.

"Oh, then why did you bring home tons of food? I thought we'd be having a huge party!"

Cassandra frowned as she didn't know whether to laugh or cry. She couldn't support the weight of this well-built man, but she also didn't want to see him disappointed.

"A party? Full of food? Are you serious?"

Rufus raised his eyebrows quizzically.
