Chapter 15:Worry

A thought crossed Lin Ke's mind all of a sudden.

He faced Dra who was behind him and asked, "Have you guys handled the Werewolves' corpses?"

"Not yet," Avina replied. "I told Dra to not burn the Werewolves' corpses and leave them outside as a warning to those Werewolves lurking around."

Werewolves seemed to exist in Avina's original world as well. Although they were slightly different than the Werewolves here, she believed that the two would be similar in nature.

Since they were a race of low intelligence, the Werewolves would not dare to get close to a place, assuming that it was dangerous if they found a huge number of their kind lying dead on the ground.

That was unless their tribe was huge in numbers. Not only would it not scare them away, but it would also increase their hatred and attract more Werewolves to attack them.

Lin Ke shook his head as he heard Avina's words. "These Werewolves are probably different than the ones you know. Not only are they not scared, but they took their brethren's corpses away as well. Furthermore, there are now new men peeking outside."

"Huh?" Avina was startled as she stopped walking. "My Lord, I'm going to head out and kill those scouts right this instant. I'll turn their corpses into tools to scare off those Werewolves again!"

Avina's plan seemed to have backfired and everyone understood that she felt humiliated.

Lin Ke nodded softly as he looked at Avina walking toward the main entrance with a cold smirk on her face.

"Dra, please follow Avina and don't let her murder all of the Werewolves later," Lin Ke told Dra who was standing beside him. "Please tail those Werewolves that have retreated and find out where their hideout is. I've got a bad feeling that leaving them unchecked will bring us a lot of trouble."

"I understand." Dra glanced at Lin Ke, nodded her head slightly, and followed Avina.

Compassionate Priest Lucy looked to the right and left as she realized that she was not doing anything. Lucy shrugged as she followed Lin Ke from behind and asked him when they arrived at the Dormitory, "My Lord, do you need me to do anything?"

"Not for now." Lin Ke patted on the stone stool as he said, "Just staying here and protecting me will do."

Although it was rather embarrassing to order a girl to protect him, Lin Ke was absolutely fine with it.

He had no choice. Summoning girls was the main selling point of this game. All the summons were beautiful Heroes. It would be wrong to not let them protect him instead.

His class was the Fortress' Lord, not some combat specialist. He would have dragged his teammates down if he were to join in the fight.

"If that's the case, I'll sing a song to my Lord," Lucy said and smiled as she seemed to be bored doing nothing there.

Lin Ke looked at her suspiciously and nodded frustratingly. "If that's what you want, please go ahead."

Lucy smiled and opened her mouth after getting Lin Ke's approval. A soft and beautiful tone fluttered across the Dormitory and Lin Ke was instantly hooked by her voice.

The song continued on for a long time. As Lucy stopped, Lin Ke opened his eyes as he had no idea when he started squinting. He looked at Lucy and smiled. "You're amazing."

"Thank you for your praise." Lucy bowed slightly. "I guess I should leave now."

Lin Ke sighed deeply as she left.

"Did she see right through me?" Lin Ke smiled wryly. He had been in danger ever since he transmigrated here. Although he now had the Elemental Tower, he was not sure of his future yet and this made him feel restless.

While he could sleep to relax his body, the tiredness in his soul had bothered Lin Ke all this while.

He did not expect that a mere Blue Grade Hero, Compassionate Priest Lucy would be the first one to notice his condition and sooth his tired soul with a song, causing him to reveal a gentle smile.

A smile that truly came from the inside.

Lin Ke really did not expect Lucy to pull such a move at all. Her song was able to wash away his stress and based on what Lucy was capable of, her skills were not as sad and compassionate as it was claimed to be.

It made sense after putting more thought into it. As a human being, it was simply impossible that she knew nothing else but those two skills that would accompany her for the rest of her life.

The same could be said for Dra. She would definitely not have only two Skills with her for the rest of her life. There might be Skills that were sealed for now, but she would probably have a few non-offensive Skills in the future.

Take Dra for example. She probably possessed cooking skills as she cooked a fish soup earlier. After all, she had been living on her own for a long time.

Furthermore, it was certain that they did not go all out with their combat skills as well. It was not as simple as their Skills being sealed at the moment.

Enemies of the same Attributes might not be a match against them at all.

To summarize, Lin Ke had understood this much from that encounter.

However, when it came to the big picture, he could not exactly describe the situation.

Lin Ke felt incredibly relaxed now that he was relieved from his stress. After pondering for a moment, he walked out of the Dormitory and headed to the Summoning Hall. He summoned another 10 Elemental Guards and rushed them out to guard the main entrance.

If Werewolves were to raid them right now, the guards could still somewhat defend and delay them for some time.

However, he still had no idea just how strong these Elemental Guards were.

After using the Elemental Tower's Unique Sight, Lin Ke could not see Avina and Dra within the vicinity at all.

Dra must have gone out to tail the Werewolves. Since Avina did not return, she probably followed along as well. This was nothing alarming but Lin Ke was worried about them and hoped that they did not get themselves into trouble.

He waited in the Dormitory for a long time and did not see any sign of Dra and Avina returning from the peak of the tower. Lin Ke was so worried that he decided to lay on the wooden bed. However, he fell asleep within a matter of seconds.

Lin Ke was confident in Dra and Avina's combat abilities. Even if they encountered a huge number of them and could not defeat them, they could still escape without any difficulty.

He did not have to worry about them.

Lin Ke felt incredibly refreshed when he woke up. It was as if he was floating together with the clouds.

The Game's System would strengthen his body whenever he leveled up. It would cleanse his sub-healthy body and give him a near-perfect healthy body. Furthermore, since Lucy's song had cleansed his soul, the pressure in his heart was no longer there.

In addition to the many hours of sleep, Lin Ke felt as if he had reincarnated into a new body and was incredibly refreshed.

However, no matter how refreshed Lin Ke was, he still did not see any signs of Dra and Avina.

He used the Fortress Sight to search for them and only found Lucy laying in the Dormitory's wooden bed as she drifted soundly into her dreams. There were some ten Elemental Guards guarding the main entrance and everything seemed to be fine.

Lin Ke opened up the Market and saw the Silver counting down. He did some basic calculations and realized that it was already 5 in the morning.

"Where have they gone to?"

Worry finally settled onto Lin Ke.

"Did something happen to them?" Lin Ke hesitated on whether he should go out to search for them.

The sky outside started becoming brighter and two figures could be seen walking towards him from a distance.
