Chapter 6:Dormitory and Elemental Pond

A small red medicine bottle filled with some sort of red liquid was in Lin Ke's grasp.

This was the Level 1 Strength Potion that he bought from the Silver Market for 1000 Silver. It would increase a player's Strength by 20 points.

The reason Lin Ke bought it was to do a little experiment.

Although he knew that both his and the Hero Dra's Attributes were all in Mojibake right now, he was wondering if bonus Attribute points would have any effect on it. He needed to take a closer look at it.

1000 Silver was not much anyway, if converted to Diamonds, it would only be worth around 1 Diamond. Lin Ke thought that it was a fair price in exchange for knowledge.

Even though he had already bought the Strength Potion, Lin Ke did not use it.

There was no point in simply wasting a potion since all of this was for the sake of an experiment. It would be best if he could pop this potion when he actually needed it, like during an actual battle, to make the most out of it.

Furthermore, Lin Ke also wanted to see if Dra, as a Hero, would be able to use this potion.

In general, potions and other buff-related items could only be used by the player themselves in most online games. They would either buff the player themself or buff the player's entire team. There were barely a handful of games that allowed Heroes to use potions and the like on their own as players would.

Lin Ke passed the Strength Potion to Dra, asking her to keep it. He also ordered her to note down her experiences with the potion if and when she used it. After that, he finally went back to analyzing the appearance of the newly-built Elemental Tower.

A Level 1 Elemental Tower already looked quite decent, though it was not much of a tower, standing at one-story tall, it took up a wide area of space. Based on Lin Ke's estimations, it had an area of three to four hundred square units. Funnily enough, for the amount of Wood and Stone he used, no matter how Lin Ke looked at it, it should have barely been able to build a small wooden hut.

The main entrance stood at a shocking height of 4 meters tall and was wide enough for three people to comfortably enter at the same time. As soon as he entered, all the lights turned on as a luxurious interior presented itself to Lin Ke. The brightly lit tower gave off a comfortable feeling.

The silver lights mounted neatly on the tower walls were not too far apart, so the amount of light in the area was not blinding, but rather soothing. Furthermore, the tower itself seemed to be emitting a light glow. Enhanced with the lighting, there was not a single corner in this Tower that was not lit up.

As he progressed further into the inner parts of the tower, the area was filled with ten empty rooms. All the room doors were locked shut but Lin Ke could view the rooms from the Control Panel. This type of Control Panel felt like some sort of special surveillance system, giving the player a full view of everything within the vicinity of this area, including every area within the Elemental Tower itself or even the situation around the perimeter within dozens of meters of the tower.

At first, Lin Ke was still not sure what he could do with all of this, but as soon as he focused his attention on the rooms, a one-line notification appeared in front of him.

[Do you wish to build a new facility?]

After Lin Ke chose the option to start building, a huge list of icons appeared in front of him, allowing him to pick the facility he wanted.

[Dormitory: A living area for Heroes and players to rest. It also produces a certain number of Silver every single day.]

[Elemental Pond: Collects Elementals from the world and condenses them into Elemental Cores.]

[Refinery Hall: The facility used for Upgrading, Medicine Production, and Enchantment.]

[Smithing Hall: An area for smithing equipment.]

[Summoning Hall: Using Elemental Cores as a sacrifice, players can summon Elemental Guards from the Elemental World.]

[Altar: A place to summon new Heroes or revive fallen Heroes.]

After taking a closer look at the list of buildings, he realized that there was nothing to deliberate over. All of these buildings had to be constructed.

This was especially true for the Dormitory and the Elemental Pond. The former produced Silver, whereas the latter produced a Special Resource, both of which are extremely important.

Looking around, he found that all ten spots were open for construction, hence, Lin Ke decided to build two Dormitories and two Elemental Ponds, followed by one of each of the other facilities. Then, he decided to leave the remaining rooms empty and build whichever facility he felt lacking in.

However, when he wanted to build all the facilities at the same time, he realized that he got the short end of the stick by being a VIP0 player. He could only build 2 buildings at the same time.

With that restriction in mind, Lin Ke chose to build the Dormitory and the Elemental Pond.

That was a straightforward decision. Most of the other facilities, like the Refinery Hall or the Smithing Hall, required a huge amount of resources to be able to be of any use. Furthermore, he barely had any equipment at that point and had a pitiful amount of Silver. There was no need to think about Upgrading at this point.

The resources needed for building a Dormitory was simple. It needed 200 Wood, 200 Stone, 2,000 Silver, and a build time of 1 hour.

The Elemental Pond's resource cost slightly higher, requiring 300 Wood and 500 Stone. However, the Silver needed was raised to a whopping 5,000 Silver. The price was a bit shocking, to be honest.

Yet, the build time for it was still 1 hour, which made Lin Ke suspect that all the facilities had the same exact build time of an hour.

Lin Ke constantly paid attention to the Dormitory's entire building process. Although 1 hour might seem long, it actually passed by quite quickly in retrospect. After he talked to Dra to get to know more about her, the Dormitory and Elemental Pond had finished their construction.

He had imagined the Dormitory to be a bedroom, a room that was just over ten square units wide. However, when he decided to personally walk in to have a look at the Dormitory, he was utterly surprised. His expectations were completely blown out of the water.

Looking into the room from the Elemental Tower, Lin Ke was sure that he only saw a room that was a little over ten square units wide. However, when he opened the room door, he was greeted with a wide suite with 1 room and 1 living area.

Based on Lin Ke's judgment, this room was more than eighty square units wide, it was almost as large as his old house back on Earth.

"This must be some sort of dimensional space…" Lin Ke said as he took a deep breath. This was no doubt a dormitory, not a simple bedroom.

The Dormitory looked plain and simple. It did not have a kitchen or toilet. It only had the one bedroom and one living area for accommodating guests. The living area had a table, some chairs, and some tableware, all made of Stone and Wood, whereas the bedroom's wooden bed had nothing except for a single blanket.

It was so plain that Lin Ke could not bear looking at it anymore.

He opened up the Attributes for the Dormitory to take a look.

[Level 1 Dormitory: Produces 1000 Silver per day, and awards the player with 20 EXP points. (If there is a player or Hero staying in the Dorm, Silver production doubles.)]

Lin Ke was stunned, he had just seen something outrageous.

"It gives money and EXP? If someone stays here the Silver production doubles?" Looking back at this plain and simple environment, he suddenly started to feel like this place was heaven all along.

Then, he started to wonder if increasing the level of the Dormitory would provide a better quality of living in the Dormitory.

As Lin Ke attempted to level the Dormitory up, he was met with a system notification rejecting him.

[You require a Level 2 Elemental Tower!]

He had not met the building requirements yet. Lin Ke nodded slightly at the notification before bringing Dra over to the Dormitory. "Dra, this room belongs to you now."

"Yes!" Dra acknowledged the order. To her, every word Lin Ke uttered was absolute.

The room with the Elemental Pond was much more straightforward. There was no dimensional space at work like in the Dormitory. It was just a pond in the middle of the original room. On regular intervals, a fountain would be formed in the center of the pond, spitting out some shiny gem-like items.

As Lin Ke picked it up, the item's Attributes were immediately displayed in front of him.

[Elemental Cores: A more basic Elemental Condensation Product. It has extraordinary uses.]

This was the Special Resource that Elemental Towers produce. However, Lin Ke understood that Level 1 would only give him 50 of those. He needed to level these facilities up.

The Elemental Pond also gave players an additional 20 EXP Points per day.

Then, Lin Ke set his eyes on the other facilities.

The one thing that caught his eye the most at this point was the Altar. Lin Ke felt that he still might have a chance to once again summon a new Hero.
