Chapter 125 - We go together like biscuit and gravy

With haggard breathing, Leena got up and looked at her surroundings when she was suddenly pulled out from her chasm.

"Where did he go?" Her body was too tired to even get up and she slumped on the bed thinking of the words he confessed in her dream.

"Finally he has turned up. I can't believe the man from the shadows was him all along." Leena was certain that none could capture her heart other than him. Even though they have spent very little time, her heart raced like crazy just in his mere presence which has never transpired with Ethan.

But in just a little time, Devin broke down her walls without her notice and rebuilt them adding the windows to let the sun rays in. He walked into her heart like he always belonged there and lit her soul on fire.

"I can't wait anymore. I have to confess my feelings tomorrow." Leena confided. She swore to never let him slip from her clutches. She didn't mind even if she was the first one to confess as long as he doesn't reject her, her heart couldn't take his denial not after her feelings started blossoming. She has seen women ogling at him at the wedding like he was their possession. How she wanted to rip their skin alive even if they are just starting at him, only she knows.

The pain Leena felt when she saw Ethan again was gradually replaced by the sweet memories she shared with Devin and slowly she entered into a deep slumber.

..

After he got the assurance from the doctor that Leena is doing fine, Devin walked out of the house and hastily called a number and within a single ring, it was lifted.

"I must say, I double checked if it was your number." A voice spoke up from the other end. "How long was it?"

"I don't put a tab on them." Devin specified shifting to the business. "Did you host any private events in your hotel today?"

"We hold many in a day."

"Then I need the list of people names in an hour including the staff, organizers, or whoever concerned parties attended the events. I am keeping a track of the time. I will be waiting for your mail."

"It's personal data which I can't_"

"Thirty minutes, all you have." Devin cut off the call before he could hear the nonsense again.

Within thirty minutes, his mobile beeped with a mail notification. Devin instantly opened the report and scanned the list of people who have attended the events and he found Leena's name in a special guest list event organized by Lucy Arnett.

"Lucy Arnett! Isn't she that vile woman's sister? How does Leena know her?" Devin patiently examined the people who attended the ballroom and found a familiar name on the list.

"Ethan Davies!!" It was no surprise that he attended the event since Lucy is his aunt. But his heart was not coming to terms when he is involved. Even though Devin was a little away from Leena when she was speaking with Flynn, he still heard a mention of Ethan's name. But he ignored the fact that there would be many people with the same name but right now, he felt it's not a coincidence.

"Is he the one Leena is scared of?" Devin already had a hunch but he wanted to confirm before concluding.

Without wasting a second, he called Jasper since he has a connection with Leena from their university days.

"Are you missing me already, Vincy?" He spoke with a mischievous tone when he lifted the call.

"I don't have space and time for you, Mr. Allen. I need some information." Devin inquired. Speaking with Wilbur would be best but he doesn't have a clue about the relationship he has with Leena now.

"What is it?" Jasper asked curiously.

"How is Ethan connected to Leena?" Devin asked, his voice had an urgency to know the response.

"Why did you ask suddenly?"

"It's time I should know about her past."

"They you must ask her instead," Jasper added, he knew, Leena wouldn't share her secret with anyone.

"She would confess even if I ask now. But I don't want to bring the topic and you know the reason." Devin meant. Her past seems to be very traumatic and hurrying her would make it worse for her.

"Ethan is her Ex." With a heavy tone, Jasper spoke up. He wanted to talk about Ethan and Leena's history when he got to know that Devin carried feelings for her but the mere name of Ethan would push the barriers. There is a chance that Devin would go and drag Ethan into the dungeon to torture him if he knows the truth.

Devin didn't want to admit, the truth was like a scalpel twisting his heart knowing that she has already loved someone else in the past. But the pain, he felt that he has encountered the familiar feeling before but he couldn't pinpoint where it was.

"Did she suffer any trauma before?" He asked with a heavy heart.

"She has but I don't know the exact truth. Reese would deviate the course of the topic if I ask. Those three girls are maintaining a secret. But Leena suffered a lot during her final university and it has something to do with Ethan and before she could recover from it, she met with an accident which broke her completely." Jasper explained.

"Wilbur knows it, but I would suggest you, wait for her to open up," Jasper added.

Devin ended the call nodding his head.

"What have you done to her, bastard?" Devin had an urge to kill him with his own hands even before he knew the entire truth. He got back to his room and watched her sleeping peacefully on her bed.

"How much you have suffered in the past, I still don't know. But forget it. From now on your pain is my pain. I will not leave anybody who has harmed you." He whispered, kissed her tender eyes.

...

Dawn tinted the darkness like water ink. Leena got up from her bed and scurried into Devin's room to see him once but she found the bed empty as usual.

"He must have gone for a run." With a smile, Leena got fresh and wore her favorite dress. People call her funny but when even she wanted something important to happen in her life, she would wear something that could bring her luck.

"You can do it, Leena! Practice a little now."

"You are the crayons to my coloring book and we go together like biscuits and gravy. So like how a fat kid loves cakes, I like you. Do you also feel the same?"

"That's the best confession he would have ever listened in his entire life if I tell those words. He would jump and accept my confession right away."

With a smile, Leena packed everything and waited for Devin but the man in question has not appeared yet. Just when she was about to leave the room to check with Daisy, Andrew appeared.

"You got ready? Let's go home then." He said, dragging the bags. Both stepped into Seattle with a single bag and now it has exceeded four with the stuff they both purchased.

"We have booked our flight for the evening right?" Leena asked in confusion.

"We are not going by flight." He winked and dragged her out of the room.

"Wait, Andrew! Where is he?" Leena pushed him away.

"Naughty girl! You can't part with him at all right? But he left for New York in the morning."

"W_hat?" Leena asked in incredulity.

"Why did he leave without telling me?" Leena whispered with a lump on her throat. It was throbbing her with intense pain. Am I not important to him? Why is my luck not in favor? When I wanted to confess my feelings, the person has disappeared without any clue.
