Chapter 237 - Planning

"I think it would be wise to leave that last option as a last ditch plan." nick said seriously. millea nodded "that is a good idea because the last person who used this method died in an ambush by the others in his generation." she said calmly. "that sounds about right for this world." nick shrugged. "out of curiosity when are you going to ascend because from what i can see your mortal body is at its limits?" millea asked changing the subject. nick noticed the shift in topic but didn't mind. "i need to find a place far from others because i have a sneaking suspicion that my tribulation will be very flashy." nick said not directly answering her question because not even he knew when the right time would come exactly. millea nodded since from what she understood about nick was that he was truly exceptional so it wouldn't be odd for his ascension to be rather flashy. "there is an uninhabited small island west of the port city of lumis that would be perfect to ascend on." she said after some thinking. "really? how big is the island?" nick asked curiously.

"Not big only a hundred miles wide but its completely barren with out any plants or animals of any kind making it perfect for what you need." millea said honestly. nick thought about it for a moment and indeed this seemed like a perfect place to ascend safely but the fact that nothing lived of the island made him suspicious. "alright we can head over to the island to check it out and if there is nothing odd about the island I'll ascend there." nick said calmly. after the conversation ended nick made sure he had recovery items for after he ascended but millea told him it was pointless because anything besides tier seven items are useless after ascending would be rejected because of their mortal nature. the only exception to this is spirit stones merely because those are pure energy to begin with. this irritated nick but there was nothing he could do so he left the lower tier items behind bringing only a few tier seven ingredients and high grade spirit stones before he and millea left to travel roughly northwest towards lumis port. the trip was rather uneventful as besides the occasional bandit nick killed for fun nothing happened.

Arriving at lumis nick noticed that the architecture was rather odd as rather than the usual square shape most buildings he had seen in this world these buildings looked like domes with windows on the sides and a circular door. nick marveled at the interesting buildings until millea explained when she saw his interest. "this city is in an area where tsunamis are common and as a result the buildings are designed so that any time a tsunami hits it will only wash over and around the buildings harmlessly.." she said calmly.
