Chapter 35 - Join Us

Shadow opened his eyes and lifted his body from the bed . He didn't see Clara in her bed so he thought she might have gone to the cafeteria.

He took a shower and left his room.

Knock !knock!

Click!

"Good morning " Shadow greeted Mia who looked half-asleep

"Good morning " said Mia while yawning.

"Hey , classes are about to start . You should get ready quickly " said Shadow.

"Who cares anyway " she responded while still yawning.

After a little while, both of them left the room and went to the cafeteria.

The moment the entered the cafeteria, the entire hall went silent. Then everyone started whispering while pointing at Shadow.

After yesterday's event , a lot of students came to the cafeteria to see the so called "Dark Summoner " .

"You became popular quite fast " Mia spoke.

"Yeah, i guess the trouble will follow soon " he replied.

Shadow tried to look for Maya among the seated students , but he couldn't spot her .

'The family must have called for her already' he thought to himself .

Both Mia and Shadow headed to the service counters and filled their trays with different dishes . They seated on a table alone and stuffed their stomachs while everyone gazing at them .

A group of four students approached them. The group consisted of two girls and two boys . Shadow recognized one of the girls , she was Clara .

"Hello Shadow , this is my team the wolfs i told you about ." Clara came to introduce the students next to her.

She then continued " Can we join you?"

"Hm" Shadow nodded in acceptance.

"Hello my name is Henry, the leader of the team and these two are Philip and Julia " The bulky guy Henry said with a smile on his face .

"I'm Shadow"

"Mia"

The group frowned a little after seeing the uninterested look on both Shadow's and Mia's faces .

"Ahem " Clara cleared her throat when she saw the awkward silence.

" You're the famous S- rank student huh , it's interesting yet strange to see you both talented individuals join our academy at once , but no one knows a thing about you too" Clara spoke.

" We don't like to attract attention " Mia said .

Almost everyone on the table spat their drinks and foods the moment they heard her reply .

'Yeah clearly ' said Julia the girl with short light blonde hair girl with a bittersweet smile. She was in the cafeteria yesterday when she witnessed the show of Shadow smashing and killing everyone of Nancy's group.

Henry looked at both Shadow and Mia before saying

"I won't beat around the bush , we want you two to join our team " he said.

Shadow wasn't surprised to hear his offer as it was only normal for him-the dark summoner- to get invited to other teams .

"Sorry but I'll pass however you can still ask Mia if she wants to join you" Shadow said .

"I'll pass too " Mia responded almost immediately.

Even though the wolfs team's members were surprised a little to how fast they were rejected, they still tried to recruit them .

"If you join our team , you can have many privileges in the academy " the short black haired guy Philip said .

"Not just that , but also more authority among the students of the academy and a monthly payment of 20 gold coins for each of you " Henry said .

" It's indeed an enticing offer , but we are not planning of joining any team at the moment " Shadow replied.

" Is it because of your sister? Are you going to join the Ravens team?" Henry asked with an expression of disturbance showing on his face.

"Believe me , the last thing i would do is to join the ravens" Shadow chuckled before he replied.

Sigh~

Even though Henry didn't like Shadow's respond to his invitation, he still felt relieved after knowing that he wasn't thinking of joining the Ravens team.

" You two are new here so you don't know how fierce and difficult the matches here . To face another team in the arena .,you'll have to rely on strategies and the strength of your teammates. I know for sure that you will regret your decision in the future ,but remember when that happens our invitation will still be the same" Henry said.

" You see darling? I told you he's not interested in joining any team " said Clara while circling her arm around Henry's .

" Yeah yeah you were right happy now?" Said Henry to Clara while rolling his eyes .

Clara noticed her weird behavior in front of Mia and Shadow before she cleared things up.

" Ah sorry i forgot to tell you, Henry is my fiancé . We plan on getting married once we graduate " said Clara with a happy expression, but suddenly her smile turned awkward after she remembered her incident with Shadow that night.

'Why the fuck am I thinking about that ? Just think of something else Clara , you're being suspicious " Clara said inwardly.

Shadow noticed the awkward smile of Clara so he smiled back at her .

" Congratulations, you two seem like a good couple , hope nothing comes between you two" he said with a sinister grin.

Mia noticed his sinister smile but didn't know what it was about.

"Congratulations" Mia said.

"Thank you " Henry responded with a happy smile .
