Chapter 30 - Meeting Mia

Mia was inspecting Shadow's reaction to Eric's action and whether he will be serious with him or not, but suddenly her entire face became gloomy.

She turned to the three girls beside her and said " he's going to kill him "

They didn't know what to say to Mia .

"Mia even if he's your friend , he killed one of our family, please try to understand our position " Grace said to Mia .

"What the hell are you talking about ? Your brother is the one who's going to be killed . I'm warning you to stop him before he gets himself killed" Mia said .

The three girls were dumbfounded hearing Mia's words . They didn't know how to react to this but still kept watching not taking her words seriously.

'You fools' Mia saw Shadow's big grin and knew that he was going to have fun with Eric .

After living with Shadow and fighting the gangs in the slums , she had a good understanding of what fun means to Shadow . That's why she knew he was going to kill Eric.

Eric Dashed at Shadow with full speed while his hands were emitting two orbs of fire . People barely saw his silhouette move due to the immense speed he was running at.

"I guess he's done for"

"He should've let Nancy live , after all he could always kill her when he gets stronger but i guess his arrogance got ahead of him"

"Sigh , we won't witness the dark summoner's true abilities when he gets stronger. He'll die today for sure "

Students discussed the scene with different thoughts . Some of them pitied Shadow for his luck while others blamed him for his arrogance but nevertheless, they still admired his courage which some of them found naivety .

'Should i humiliate him first?' Shadow wondered after seeing the coming Eric heading towards him.

"You can apologize to Nancy in hell " Eric said to him.

He was only one meter away from reaching Shadow , but an unexpected thing happened.

"Kneel"

That was the only word that came out of Shadow's mouth but for some reason Eric was kneeling right before him.

Eric was confused of what just happened , but then he noticed that he couldn't move an inch.

"What the fuck did you do to me you bastard?" Eric roared angrily.

Shadow was using the blood manipulation technique. It's true that Eric was many realms ahead of Shadow but in terms of strength he was still weaker than him as Shadow had multiple ways to kill him right this instance immediately.

"Is that how you should be speaking to the one who's about to kill you? I mean shouldn't you try begging me to release you or even threaten me with your so called 'great family'?" Shadow said sarcastically.

Eric's face became gloomy after hearing his words . He noticed the hate in Shadow's tone and he knew that he won't hesitate to kill him.

The girls looked at Shadow unbelievably but soon they came to realize what Mia just said

'He's going to kill him' that's the only sentence was cycling in their heads right now as they finally realized how dire the situation is .

"Maya please do something quickly " Grace exclaimed to Maya sounding panicked to see the current events .

Maya nodded and went to where Shadow and Eric were .

'I don't know what technique he used or how he managed to make Eric in that position, i still believe i can take him down, after all i never thought Eric was my opponent not even for once"Maya said inwardly.

She started walking slowly out of the crowd as she made her way towards both Shadow and Eric.

"I don't really think that you have to make an enemy out of our family. Even if Nancy was in the wrong , you still killed her as for Eric, you've already made it clear who's the winner of this fight , so why don't you just let him go and we'll forget about this matter forever but if you don't.." Maya said to Shadow trying to compromise with him.

"You..!" Shadow muttered these words the moment he saw Maya . The beautiful little girl he used to live with has now become a pretty young lady with a calm demeanor and could easily tell that she seemed strong.

'Maya she is here ..' even though Shadow's mentality stats were high he still had slightly some conflicted emotions at the moment.

'She's all grown up now , she's really become a beautiful woman' he said inwardly with a light smile . He was feeling a little proud to be this young girl's brother .

'She didn't recognize me. It's true that my facial features changed drastically, I'm still feeling disappointed for some reason' said Shadow with a bittersweet smile on his face.

'Maybe i should punish her a little for not recognizing her brother' he said with a mischievous grin .

"Seems like the Raven family's members are all arrogant and don't know their boundaries in this world. So tell me "Shadow said

"Do you think you can rescue this idiot from my hands ?" he asked with an amused expression.

"Don't you even dare lay a finger on him. Maybe we can shut an eye for what you've done to Nancy , but we'll never let you live another day if anything happens to him "Maya said threateningly.

"You mean like this?" Shadow said as he started lifting Eric by his neck .

"Sigh..You're just as stupid as I thought " Maya said before rushing at him.

"Am i?" Shadow said while dodging Maya's attack .

She started sending punches and kicks at him at an incredibly fast speed to the extent she was blurring, but to her surprise Shadow was keeping up with her and dodging all her attacks as if he's already expected their trajectory and where they will land .

'This is.. his moves remind me of him' Maya said to herself. She was bewildered seeing the patterns at which Shadow moved and dodged , he was still carrying the same smile on his face just like the one he always had whenever he practiced with Maya .

Suddenly, Maya's hand started glowing before sending a beam of light towards Shadow .

"I'm a little disappointed to be honest, after all these years of practicing, is that the best you could do ?" Shadow said after dodging her attack like it was nothing.

'What does he mean?' Maya asked after hearing him say 'after all these years' she didn't think much of it as she was focused on dealing with him at the moment.

'Light steps' suddenly Maya's feet glowed for a moment , but just when Shadow's eyes were shifted to her feet , Maya disappeared.

'That's dangerous ' he said before jumping from his spot .

Even though he expected Maya's attack he still couldn't react in time as part of her sword scratched his neck slightly .

"Woah that was scary " he said while wiping the little bit of blood that came out of his neck.

'It's fun but i shouldn't underestimate her '

Maya didn't even spare him a second of rest before conjuring dozens of light orbs that shot at Shadow with an incredible speed .

Shadow dodged them easily but once they reached near him they exploded.

He was sent flying in the air but he made a back flip and landed perfectly on the ground.

Just when he thought it was over , Three mirrors appeared around him out of no where .

'What the hell is this ' he asked himself.

'The host should be carful. The moment these mirrors are activated , they will capture the host in his place and dry him out of all his energy' the system warned him .

'Can you disable it?' Shadow asked the system.

'There is nothing the system can't do , the host just has to have the enough Dominance points needed ' the system replied.

'And in this case, how many 'enough points' are we talking about? '

'Only 8'

' Mother fuc..sigh i guess I shouldn't complain that much '

The whole conversation with the system was happening in Shadow's head while the whole world outside his head was stopped . This was one of the system's amazing features .

A smile appeared on Shadow's face before he looked directly at Maya .

"Suck him dry" said Maya who was smiling lightly after she noticed the happy expression on Shadow's face . She thought he had no idea what was going around him but the next second, her expression changed .

Shock , confusion, bewilderment and even astonishing reactions were seen on Maya's and the crowd's faces as they witnessed what Shadow did to one of the most powerful attacks of Maya .

Shadow snapped his fingers and the three mirrors shattered immediately.

" so cool" the girls in the crowd murmured in a low voice as they subconsciously were mesmerized by Shadow's power and demeanor. He was so cool the whole time . Even though he was facing the light summoner, the only element user that would be his opponent, he was still calm nevertheless even winning the fight.

Shadow blurred for a second before appearing right in front of Maya's face . He was 3 inches away from her and she had no way to dodge his attack but what Shadow did shocked Maya to the core .. Even the crowd had their jaws wide open seeing the scene in front of them.
