Who would have known that his newly found attentiveness would drive his disciple to act suggestively towards him?

-----------------

Lan Quan looked at the cat spirit disciple of his, whom he had rescued during one of his hunts for medicinal plants, bruised with fur so dirty. He took it upon himself to bring the feline back with him to Suming hall.

"Master!"

"Huh?"

"Can I go down the mountain?"

The white ball of fur stretched its body lazily as he spoke to his master, its paws tapping on the floorboard to get the attention of Lan Quan.

"Kai Zhen, I've said it before! You can't leave Suming hall!"

"But, why?! It's too boring in here!"

To anyone else that couldn't decipher what the cat said, to them it sounded more like, "MEOW!!!!"

The cat brought his body closer to where his master stood, as he concocted the medicinal pills from a gold cauldron which filled the whole place with different aromas.

"Run along! Kai Zhen! I need to have this done before nightfall!"

His heart sank when he heard the dismissive tone of his master, who didn't spare a glance to look at the cat that was at his feet.

"Master!"

Thinking that Lan Quan would look down this time, Kai Zhen prepared the ultimate weapon that would make his master give in to him, which was a practiced widening of his dark pupils.

"MEOW!"

Rather than talk, Kai Zhen regressed to his base instinct to call his master's attention to the need at hand. Waited he did, but Lan Quan refused to look at his disciple, who then began pulling on his robes with his teeth.

"I said! Get out!"

In a gust of wind infused spirit energy, the cat was transported out and the doors firmly shut.

"Master, is this really how you feel about me?"

The cat slowly transformed into a male faerie in white robes, without a backward glance at the place that he called home. Kai Zhen strode out of Suming hall, against his master's wishes unleashing terror to the heavens and causing the downfall of his master.

-------------------

Kai Zhen knew that the level at which his spiritual energy was at, he would end of taking great damage from climbing down the mountain. How was a low ranked faerie supposed to make it through the enchantment and spells made by a high immortal?

"You think you can hold me back? I haven't spent the last 100 years with you for nothing!"

Despite his big words, Kai Zhen trembled inside. The aura coming from the enchantment set by his master raised his furs with their sheer power. He knew that his spiritual energy was incomparable with those of Lan Quan but being ignored for long was something he could no longer stand.

--------

"Hey! Rain faerie! Over here! It's me, Kai Zhen!"

It was during the time he was struggling to break through the oppressive influence of his master's enchantment. Kai Zhen saw a faerie of higher power than him floating through the sky.

"What are you doing over there, Faerie Kai Zhen?!"

Looking down from the cloud where she was standing on, the rain faerie in green robes had a puzzled look in her sharp eyes. Never had she seen the disciple of an high immortal act as recklessly as the one that she was talking to.

"Are you trying to get yourself killed?! Why would you be playing with the spells that was set up by High immortal Lan Quan?!!!"

-------------------

Away at Qilin hall, the palace of the heavenly emperor there was an inner court session that was going on as to whom was going to go through the wheels of fate and face their heavenly trial. Guangzi Jiu sat high up in his throne as he spoke to two well respected high immortals in his palace. The heavenly emperor wore regal robes of white and gold, a crown made from pure gold sat gallantly on his head. His royal adviser, Hou Yao was in a robe of plain white with his hair knotted back, while the God of Fate, Chang Chen was in pink robes.

"Your majesty! Please do not concern yourself about what will befall high immortal Lan Quan! It shares the same fate as every immortal as should not be given any special treatment!"

"Hou Yao, do you think that the God of Fate is right by telling me not to give the medicine king a lead way?! What if he faces an obstacle that he cannot overcome and is stuck in the mortal realm?! Have you considered who would be taking care of my well-being and those of the royal family?!"

The mature jade like feature of the heavenly emperor took on a more dashing look, despite how angry he was that the rest of the court did not see things his way.

"Your highness! Faerie Kai Zhen is high immortal Lan's protege. I'm sure he would be of great service and see that the needs of the royal court are met. I heard he has been training him for over 50 years, his level of cultivation may not be as high, but he would do pending the time, high immortal Lan gets back from his heavenly trial. Please your highness you must agree to this, to prevent calamity from befalling the nine heavens!"

The royal advisor took to his knees and bowed before the greatest ruler of the heavens, whose features and those of the heavenly emperor resembled that of a male human in their fifties. When the God of Fate saw that the royal adviser was prostrating, he too did the same.

"Your majesty! Please reconsider! The fate of the nine heavens is at stake!"

"Enough! Chang Chen if anything happens to the Medicine King be prepared to face the repercussion! For now, I will agree to this!"

The God of Fate trembled with his head still meeting the floor, he wanted to cry but there was not enough water in his eyes to squeeze out the misery at which the heavenly emperor had put him into.

"Your highness, high immortal Chang Chen can only read the fate of immortals and mortals alike, to meddle into could destroy the fabrics of the heavens and lower the dignity of the royal family! Your highness, please withdraw what you said. It would only put high immortal Chang Chen in a difficult position!"

Hou Yao, the adviser to the heavenly emperor and longtime friend asked for Guangzi Jiu not to pressure the God of Fate.

"You too think that I'm being unreasonable in wanting the Medicine King from harm's way?!"
