Chapter 23 - Twenty - One - Diary Entry #4

September 5, 1822

We arrived at the estate late last night. Cecile got motion sickness, and hasn't been able to come out much. Luckily, everyone else arrived unscathed; this almost wasn't the case.

On our way a man had fallen out in front of the carriage, scaring the horses. I strangely can't remember much about his appearance now that I think about it. He was dressed up proper, he seemed to be a nobleman, yet he was out alone in the pouring rain.

Mom went out to talk to him, she didn't tell me what about; I'd ȧssume to see if he was robbed, or lost.

During their conversation, he looked at the carriage. Something about his gaze told everything to me, to run. It felt as if he was looking through me.. Not only was his gaze chilling, he had the strangest eye color.
