Chapter 218 - HIM BESIDE HER...

Name:The Ceo And Me! Author:chayasreedeka
"We are done for today. I will be back in the morning to check up on Lana."

The doctor informed and left after that. Madi and John nodded. The nurse gave Lana sedatives for her to sleep peacefully.

They were the only two people left after that in the room, breathing and with sense.

Madi walked towards the bed where Lana was laying. She took her spot in the same place as last night. John watched her sitting on the stool.

And here he had been thinking to wait for the night, this time instead of her but it looked like she was going to stay tonight too.

"I thought I would have stayed tonight..."

"I do not mind!"

Madison interrupted him right away and John nodded, rubbing his nose. He saw no point in arguing here to ask her to go home and rest because he knew, she was not going to get any just like him either.

"So I...I guess I will just leave..."

John went on and Madi gave him a positive sigh. He bid her night and then left the next instant for not knowing how to be in the same room as hers and not know what to say and what not to say.

Madi eyed the closing door and took a deep breath. Things had gone back to being awkward once again.

Every time, she would look into his eyes, she felt the strange connection yet she could not help it in her mind when the thought of utter betrayal crossed her mind she caused her...to her beloved.

She turned back to look at Lana, who was sleeping so peacefully. She patted her head, running fingers through her blonde golden locks.

"I did what you would have done, baby!"

Madison mumbled. She leaned down to peck her lips, softly. A lone tear slipped out from her eyes and fell upon Lana's cheeks. She squirmed and turned to the other side.

"What else does matter??"

She questioned him, rubbing her tears away with the back of her hand. She continued...continued to do what Lana would have done if she was still here, standing beside her as always.

"If or not she is carrying your child or someone else's...either way her heart has always belonged to you and if you step out only because of that...I have nothing to say more..."

Madison went on. She could not even think before the words kept slipping out of her mouth as if she herself did not know what she was speaking out in the air.

"If she still could love you as you are...why can't you accept a part that would be hers too even if it's not yours...it would be hers!"

Madison concluded and Kian did not speak out one word at that moment. Their eyes bored into each other. There was nothing much left for Madi to talk about either.

"I m sorry!"

It was the first thing that came out of Kian's mouth, breaking the waves of the silence in a strike.

"I m sorry for Lana...I did not mean to..."

Kian had no intention of turning things the way they did. He only threatened John to get to Tinsley after months of waiting. He had gone restless to see his wife by then...

And he was never intending to spill the truth to Lana, he only used it for getting to find his wife's whereabouts. Yet how things had ended up...he could not help but blame himself.

"Don't..."

Madi shook her head, stopping him from completing his sentence. She knew what he was going to say and it was not all true...for the truth was going to come out anytime...that way or this way, it was going to come out sooner or later.

"It was all on me...It still is all on me...nobody had no doing in it."

Kian could see how much in pain and guilt she was in. Perhaps he could link it to a little bit...the guilt of abandoning his wife and their unborn child for saving someone else's.

"It is all my doing!"

She said, and a raw fresh tear spurted out of her eyes. And Kian strode forward, pulling her into his arms.

Despite the straining, they had been having for a few months by then...they had a great history of understanding each other's feelings...what they were going through. They were kind of similar in that way.

"Everything will get better!"

Kian consoled her, pulling away, holding onto her both shoulders, peeking into her tearful red eyes, giving the boost in her soul to carry on and not lose hope.

Madison closed her eyes, rubbing her nose. It felt so stuffed. Kian gave her a moment to get herself back together.

He had come here to confront her and to see how it had turned out. His head assistant had informed him about Lana's health condition and his attitude changed altogether.

He knew that his much Madi loved that woman and that she had cheated on her with Lana's own brother...why?? He did not know himself...and felt like she did not either.

"Funny, how we do not know how much someone means to us until they leave us and we are only left with the memories..."

Madi spilt and it got Kian's attention. She gave him a sad, apologetic smile...sorry for everything she had done to him and everyone else.

Giving one last pat on his bicep, she left him all alone to be swimming in his trains of thoughts.

Driving back home...a home that had not felt like one for months now, he got out of his coat and strode towards the bar in the big living room, pouring himself a whiskey.

Sipping a little of it from the glass, he took a sit on the big sofa, made of bear's fine fur. Leaning back on the sofa, trying to soak his tiredness off.

He glanced around the big empty house...it looked scarier and void than a haunted one.

But the void in his inside was too big and large...black and white at the same time.

There was no light...only faint partial lighting, seeping in through the blinder of the window.

She tossed and turned, trying to forget him...forget what had occurred in the morning.

His hurtful face...so sad and broken to find her pregnant with not his...but someone else's child...

She plopped her face on the soft pillow, trying to stop from thinking about it again and again.

She checked her phone to see if Madison had texted her back or not and saw it all empty, her inbox had no calls, no texts...she sighed, putting it down back on the nightstand.

She did not get why Madi would ignore all her texts and calls like that. It made her worried if something had happened to Anna Maria.

For Madi would never rest without calling her once a day, every day. She had a bad feeling in her heart...yet she could not do anything about it...did not even know how to reach out.

Reaching out...how should he ever reach out to her after this...after everything that had happened so far.

It apparently seemed like she had moved on and there was no returning back to what things used to be like.

"Funny, how we do not know how much someone means to us until they leave us and we are only left with the memories..."

The words rang like a siren in his mind and it irritated him so much to the point of throwing his glass out at the front wall, breaking it into pieces.

He needed her...he did....did so bad. Now that he had seen her, felt her again in his arms after such a long time, tasted her for a brief moment, he needed her...he would go crazy without her if not...

He got up and stepped inside the bar to pour himself another drink to drown in his own sorrows.

"I have never been this happier...getting to know that there are real people who care about me...you, Madison and Anna Maria."

Her words broke his heart. She was so vulnerable that she never had someone to care about her.

He cupped her face in between his hands, pulling her more close to him than ever.

"I care about you...deeply, madly and crazily. "

She grinned, listening to him. He caressed her hair with one hand and rubbed her cheeks smoothly with the other one.

"I will always be there for you, Tinsley."

"I know. "

She mumbled as if she knew it in her heart...more than him that he would always be there for her.

It was the scene of him and her, forehead resting against each other, eyes interlocked...

Kian dropped the glass and ran upstairs to get his wife...to relive that moment once again in peace.

And when Tinsley, turned around to sleep in peace, her eyes saw him...looking at her, sleeping just beside her.
