Chapter 215 - Long Distance Lovers

Kane was tired from his job as the Duchess and Marchioness's guard. Now, he couldn't explain why his lover was acting indifferent for two nights now.

"Baby, nothing happened," Kane explained.

"Then, there were girls that asked you to dance?" Harriet pouted at him. He badly wanted to pinch those cute cheeks.

"Well, most of them did and your father pushed me to ask for them."

"He did what?!" She exclaimed. "I can't even go there even though I pleaded to him." She grimaced and even though she grimaced, she still looked completely adorable.

"I missed you." He said to divert the topic.

"I miss you too. But seriously! Did you dance to one of them?"

He thought that he could divert the topic but it seemed like she won't let it slide.

"Luckily, something happened that I didn't get a chance to dance with anyone."

"I'm so going there." She said.

"Hey, you can't come in here. It's dangerous." He put down his phone and removed his shirt ready to sleep. She grinned and admired him.

"Can you also remove the lower part?" She giggled at him.

"No." He lay down sideways and focused the phone on his face.

"I can also undress." She told him and bent down as her cleavage showed.

"No!" He exclaimed at her. "For god's sake, Harriet. Don't do that."

She rolled her eyes and lay down and focused the camera on her face.

"I miss you, Kane." She whispered. "Can we make love when you arrive?"

"No. That's a big no."

She rolled her eyes and snorted.

"But you can do that to your ex-girlfriend who was noble."

"That's because you aren't like her. You are pure and she wasn't."

"That doesn't flatter me at all." She shook her head.

"I never loved her," Kane said. "Please don't be jealous."

She sat up and ran her fingers through her hair.

"Are you sure that you will never love her?" She exhaled softly. "Or you are just saying that to make me feel better."

"I never did. I promise." He lay flat down and stared at the ceiling. "I was trying to forget my feelings for you." He mumbled. "But no one ever makes me forget about you. It's weird."

She smiled and then bit her lips to avoid it. Then, she pouted at him as she lay down again.

"Kane, will you marry me?"

Kane froze and turned his head back to his phone.

"Hey, I told you not to propose!"

"It wasn't a proposal. It's a question." She rolled her eyes.

"We have to date first. Then, let's see if we will still be happy."

Harriet nodded her head.

"So, baby. Don't ask about marriage, ever again."

"Will we still date even when we were in our eighties?"

"Why not?" He smiled at her charmingly. "I want to kiss you right now."

She pouted her lips to kiss him.

"Muach! I will kiss you more when you get here."

"I will wait for that." He looked at the calendar. They still have to wait for two weeks and four days. He couldn't wait to come home and hugged her.

Harriet turned her head quickly.

"What the hell?" She exclaimed to someone at the door.

"I thought that you were having a sex call with Kane!" Hardin exclaimed. Harriet rolled her eyes.

"So what if we are having that thing? You should knock first!"

Kane laughed and covered his mouth. Hardin was always jealous. But then, he hasn't reconciled with him yet but they seemed to act casual and haven't talked about his relationship with Harriet.

"Hardin, please leave!" Harriet scolded. Hardin then left. Harriet exhaled and faced Kane again. "Sorry, he's just jealous that you chose me over him."

"I feel like a playboy now." Kane laughed.

Royal Castle, Four Days Later

Kaisley was sipping on her wine while Prince Philip and Prince Caleb were using wooden swords and playing them.

"This hurts like bitch." Caleb exclaimed and showed his swollen hands.

"You need to know how to swing a double-edged sword, you little pussy." Prince Philip scolded him. Caleb pouted at the Prince like a little boy. Kaisley has it recorded.

"Yes, sir."

He continued playing with wooden swords with Prince Philip. He seemed to get the tactic and he wrapped his hand with a cloth so the sword won't slip and his hand won't get hurt.

"Good, again!" Prince Caleb said.

"Uncle, aren't you tired?" Kaisley asked.

"Dear, I have more stamina than your husband." The old man laughed as Kaisley burst into laughter while Caleb grimaced.

The two kept on playing and after thirty minutes, the old man asked for a break and he drank water and sat down.

"Uncle, where did your stamina go?" Caleb teased him.

"You little rascal! I could swing heavy swords for straight hours when I was at your age!"

"Really?" Caleb raised his brows and looked at Kaisley who shrugged. "Is there someone who could swing a double-edged sword for like ten hours? I thought it only happens in movies."

The old man coughed to avoid the question but then, the couple found it impossible. Still, during wars, there's such a thing that happened.

"Alright, stop this exercise now. Uncle needs to change his clothes." Kaisley nodded at the Prince's personal Butler.

Kaisley approached her husband and wiped his sweats.

"Uncle, I think you should watch over your health. How about we have a little tea party instead and dress in a fancy way? Then you can tell us your stories! And swung the sword for ten hours." Kaisley smiled at him charmingly. Prince Philip cleared his throat.

"Are you teasing me, your highness?"

"No. It's true. It's the weekend. Let's take a break and film again!"

"I don't mind." The Prince somehow loves the cameras now since it's a fun thing to do with his niece. He didn't have a daughter and his son's wife was the only daughter that he had.

Kaisley helped her husband to dress up in a fancy way and set the tea party on the east garden gazebo. It looked very much fancy and even their maids and Butlers wore their costumes. The costumes were only used during gala or formal parties in the castle. And since it's an old costume, they didn't ask the tailor to have it all fixed or remake.

"This is like old times." Prince Philip said as he sat down gracefully.

Caleb bowed gracefully as Kaisley curtsied from the heavy dress. They all sat down as the maid poured the tea into their mugs. Each mug has a silver spoon to detect if there's poison.

"So, your highness, can you tell us about your young days?" Kaisley asked.

"This is a fancy interview, Princess Kaisley." He grinned at her. "Well, during my young days, I fancy lots of girls back in school. Of course, as the handsome Prince…" He moved closer to Kaisley. "Don't tell Edgar that he had an ugly break out when he was a teenager. Don't tell him that I tell you."

Kaisley covered her lips with the fan and giggled while Caleb laughed.

"Anyway," he cleared his throat. "Since there were lots of women who fancy this handsome prince charming, there is only one woman that catches my heart."

"And that's your wife?" Caleb asked as the Prince nodded.

"She's from a common family. Her father is a businessman. She's so smart that she was always on top of her course. At first, she ignored me and only bowed because of my status. But her beauty is captivating, like a blooming lily in the lake during the moonlight. I mean, my heart was reacting superbly every time I saw her."

Kaisley and Caleb never expect that he would say such flowery words. But since he lived longer than them, he of course could fancy any woman even at that age.

"What's her name again?" Caleb asked as the old man continued.

"She was called Lily Margaret. She's indeed a beautiful Lily." He continues with his poetic accent and words. "My night and day, I always thought of her. Days and weeks, and even months go by, I still pursue her. I had this thought of asking her father for her hand, probably for an arranged marriage, but then I realized that I was chasing after her because I love her and I want her. I want her to fall in love with me so I always gave her a lily a day."

"Wow," Caleb's eyes widened. "So, how long does it take?"

"Six months of pursuing her until she finally said yes." He grinned at Caleb.

"Six months! That's long." Caleb couldn't believe himself.

"That's because she only thought that she could marry a commoner like her. But I love her and status and rank don't mean anything to me."

"Your father, I mean the former King didn't force you into an arranged marriage?"

"No. Not at all." He shook his head. "My father was always a happy man. He wanted everyone to be happy and so, he gave us freedom. After I married her, I never thought that my love would always bloom for her."

"Uncle, that's so romantic," Kaisley whispered. "You are romantic. Perhaps, you could teach Caleb how to romance me that way. I mean, the poetic words."

Caleb looked at her in a boring way.

"Babe, I was always romantic."

"No. Not at all.." She denied.
