Chapter 183 - Loneliness

Days had passed. Everyone was currently busy with the upcoming Royal Gala, which was originally called Blue Empire Happy Day. Nobles called it the Royal Gala since the most important for them is the ball. It's a celebration that is held every year that every royal can participate in specific games and at the same time, every person celebrates it in two days. They have games and other happy parties. It's also the Royal Gala for every noble in the country, where it will be held in the Castle where the King lives.

Currently, Victoria was walking in the town of Westeria called Mulberry Town. The people there are very friendly and they have hectares of Mulberry nearby. Every stall had different beautiful silks. She smiled as she kept walking in her normal casual clothing. This time, her husband came with her, wearing a cap and sunglasses to avoid being recognized.

"They sold fine silks here for the dresses for the Blue Empire Happy day." He told her. "I remember my mom and I always visit here as she asked for my opinion on what kind of silk that she should add to her dresses. It was during this day that they had fine silk fibers."

"I see." She nodded at him. "We should find one for us too."

"You can go shopping my dear. They sold it at a lower price than the original price. It is, after all, a Blue Empire Happy Day."

"Blue Empire Happy Day," She looked at the garlands around and the flags of the Empire on each post. "It was when your great, great grandfather said that he would make everyone happy and so he did."

"Yes," He looked down at her. "At that time, people were shouting 'Blue Empire Happy Day' and on and on. For a year, the King's townspeople are happy. Status and ranking aren't a big deal to everyone. The King also makes sure that every house will receive a basket of happiness, even the homeless people."

"Now, what we need to do is to lessen that crisis. I know it's hard but I can work hard to give it to them."

Kenzo always had that melt whenever Victoria said such things. She didn't just plan at all. She worked hard for it and she even had time to write while doing her duty as the Duchess and a wife.

"You are a superwoman." He said as he bent down and kissed her cheeks.

"Hey, I am doing this because I liked it."

"You simply have a good heart."

She nudged him.

"I don't want to be called that." She groaned and exhaled. "I don't feel good being called an angel and goddess by the people. Because I am not."

"I know, but for me, you are my angel."

She looked up at him lovingly.

For those days, Victoria didn't only help with the preparation in the castle on behalf of Kaisley. She also had to work hard to get the people's trust. Not just that, she also helped Stacey with the duties in the castle as they had animations for the Blue Empire Happy Day. She made a story about it through the King's story, Kenzo's story, and Prince Philip's story.

She made the script as animated it with a few professional illustrators. It's an animated movie for the upcoming Blue Empire Happy day that will be seen in theaters for free and even on the build boards and channels.

"I love that maroon one." She said. "I wanted to have a long robe-like Stacey's. I also asked Viscount Jarred about the designs so I could seduce you well."

He laughed and patted her head.

"Alright, love. Whatever. Choose whatever you want!"

They come back to the castle with lots of silk fibers and lace fibers for the Duchess's pleasure. She's happy and he was happy.

Katarina was currently following her sister's social media as she posted about Mulberry Town and about the amazing stalls that they have. She even advertised it for free by posting it to her social media. Even Duchess Stacey and Princess Kaisley shared it and commented about it with lots of hearts. She felt depressed. Why can't she have what Victoria has? Although she has countless gifts from Jason, she wasn't content, she felt lonely.

At this time, she still can't open the gift that Victoria and Kenzo sent to her during their Engagement Party that was held a week ago. Currently, her groom was busy with work and she wanted it to open together with him. A knock on the door made her turn. It opened as her mother came with two maids to present the dresses for the gala.

"Well, what do you think?" She asked. "This one will be during the game and the other one will be for the gala!" Dana winked at her.

Her response was only nodding her head without showing much excitement.

"My dear, everyone will be there!" She approached her daughter and hugged her. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing." She said and pursed her lips.

"Katarina, you have to tell me." Dana carefully caressed her hair.

"I~~I just thought about Victoria and how she became a princess overnight."

"She's not a Princess yet."

"Mom," Katarina exhaled. "They were already crowned as Grand Duke. It only means that her husband is the Crown Prince and she is the Crown Princess."

Dana waved off the maids as they put the gown inside her walk-in closet. Then, they leave and close the door carefully.

"I want her to be miserable," Katarina said softly.

At that moment, something triggered Dana. She also wanted Victoria to be miserable. She wanted Vivien to be miserable. Attacking the Marchioness won't be easy. Attacking the Duchess is harder than they thought.

"Hush," She caressed her hair. "Don't worry. She will be soon reaching her downfall. I promise you."

She looked up at her mother.

"This might be the same feeling that you felt toward her mother," Katarina said softly. "Mom, do you also feel lonely and angry at the same time?"

Dana couldn't tell her daughter that she was enraged. She wanted to kill Vivien with her bare hands but she must be composed.

"Hey," Dana smiled at her. "The Royal Gala is in three weeks. Time passes by and you might wake up to the fact that everything is perfect."

"That's why you shaped Victoria so much to be perfect… Now she has become a perfect duchess. An angel in everyone's eyes and Goddess to those beggars who worshiped her." She exhaled frustratingly. "I bet she was having a nice wine right now and enjoying it."

"Hey," Dana rubbed her arms. "You will marry one of the richest men in the world." She kissed her temple. "Didn't you steal him from her so she will be devastated?" She patted her head. "Everything will be fine, my dear. I promised it to you."

At that moment, Katarina believed her mother. But behind her mother's sweet words toward her was an evil and dark plan toward Victoria and Vivien.

Victoria was currently done with one chapter and she turned her head to Pauline.

"Viscount Jarred's assistant came, your grace."

"Let him in." She smiled as she locked her laptop and approached the female assistant of Viscount Jarred. They sat across each other as the assistant handed the designs from the folder. Victoria gasped and grinned. "I love it all." She said, "I bought silk and everything that they needed. I also set up a room here."

The assistant smiled at her.

"I am glad that you love it, your grace. Currently, our staff is busy with gowns and dresses."

"I know." Victoria smiled. "Just tell Jarred that I can take any free time. No hassle. And," She nodded at Pauline who had the maids ready every textile needed. "I'll set it up here, so I can see it."

"Yes, your grace." The Viscount's assistant never saw her ecstatic.

"As a wife, I also need to give my husband some time." Victoria giggled and admired the designers and gave it back to her. "I'll buy it all." She said without thinking about the price. Her husband didn't mind about maximizing the credit cards since they never got maximized.

"Your grace, is it alright if I checked the textiles? Viscount Jarred had specific likings on each of the textiles, and if he didn't like something, he might have changed it to something better."

"Sure, be my guest." Victoria stood and led her to the fabrics. "You can also get a sample if you want."

"Yes, please. I would need that. Your fabrics are amazing. They are much more the same to the fabrics that Sir Jared had."

Pauline came with a scissor as she started getting samples from each of the fabrics that Victoria bought.

"Tell him that these are the only fabrics that I have, he can add if he likes to make the inner negligee soft."

The door opened as Kenzo smiled.

"Hey, love."

They curtsied to him. Victoria rushed to the coffee table and closed the folder.

"You can't peek at it."

"Sure," he nodded. "Let's have lunch?" He asked.

"Alright, I'll be there in a moment." She waved at him, and Kenzo winked at her, and he left.

The maids were used to Kenzo being charming and all.. But Jarred's assistant seemed to be amazed.
