Chapter 139 - THE WEAPONS

Name:The Blue Eyes Author:26stars
Kris and Blue glanced at each other confusedly after Kevin finished answering the question. It seemed like they were confused as to how they were going to explain the matter to the young scientist.

But, Jack looked even more confused than the two people when he asked, "Who is Fredy Lowell?"

Kris and Blue turned their heads to the tattoed man. They just realized that Jack was clueless about the matter. He was away when they were investigating the abandoned mine using the search engine, and now he looked like a kid who didn't know anything.

Jack specifically looked at Blue, waiting for the girl to answer his question, and his gaze made the girl feel cornered. She silently glanced at her uncle again as if she was seeking help.

Kris noticed the gaze and decided to take over the girl's responsibility to explain. "Fredy Lowell is the director of Blacoal Company. That's the company that abandoned the mine in Chilad District," he revealed the fact carefully.

Kevin's almond eyes widened in surprise. "What?" He then asked in disbelief. "The mine was under Blacoal Company?"

"You know about the company?" Kris asked.

"Yes, my adoptive father told me once or twice about the company," the scientist answered. "But, I don't know much about the company. That's why I didn't expect that they had a mining project in Chilad before."

"How come you don't know that your uncle is a bastard who doesn't care about the environment?" Jack suddenly butted in.

The reckless question was rewarded with death glares by Kris and Blue.

"Stop talking nonsense, Jack!" Kris scolded the other man and turned to his lover again. "Just ignore what Jack just said, Kev. I'm sure that you are innocent and not related to the abandoned mine."

Kevin knew that his lover was trying to comfort him, but he didn't feel better even after hearing the comforting words. He was very shocked to hear that his uncle had something to do with the abandoned mine.

"What if your foster parents also have something to do with the mine, Kevin?" Jack attacked the young scientist again.

Kris once again glared at the tattooed man, but the latter just rolled his eyes and leaned his back against the back of the sofa again.

"Let me ask my foster parents about it first," Kevin finally responded. "It's my family matter, so I hope you guys understand that I can't explain it to you now. Please give me some time to deal with this matter."

Kris and Blue nodded in understanding, while Jack just rotated his eyes again.

"So, what's your next plan, Kev? I mean, your plan related to the Rodein findings," Kris decided to change the subject.

Kevin seemed to be thinking hard, making some plan in his head related to the case. "The weapons," he suddenly spoke again. "Let's investigate the weapons used by the werewolves in the last war."

Jack suddenly straightened his body and looked at Kevin with wide eyes. "The weapons!" He suddenly exclaimed. "I just remembered that Professor Joseph ordered weapons from someone in the city before the war. At first, he asked me to help him organized the weapons, but suddenly he changed his mind and asked Mario Doxon instead. Professor Joseph didn't store the weapons on the island, but he stored the weapons somewhere in the city. Perhaps the place is Rodein!"

"You just remembered about such an important matter now?" Kris asked the man in skepticism. His tone was cold and full of anger.

"There are tangled strings inside my mind," Jack replied casually. He then turned to Kevin again and asked, "Do you think Professor Beischel was the one who ordered the weapons from Primea? Did you find a suspicious warehouse or something when you were investigating Rodein?"

"There are many suspicious warehouses in Rodein that they didn't look suspicious anymore," Kevin answered. "And about your first question, I'm not sure if my father was the one who ordered the weapons. It could be his accomplice who did that."

Jack sighed as he bit his nail randomly. "Or perhaps, the person he called was Primea's president? The president was his accomplice? It's possible that he joined forces with the enemy leader to defeat Calenta. They both hate this country, after all."

The three people facepalmed upon hearing Jack's ridiculous hypothesis.

"Do you think we're in a movie?" Blue asked the man lazily. It seemed that the young girl was annoyed by the man for talking nonsense from the beginning of their discussion.

The man just shrugged and replied, "That's possible, though."

"I think we should investigate the weapons first to make sure," Kevin spoke again after a few minutes he fell silent.

"But, how can we investigate the weapons, Kev?" Kris asked in confusion.

Kris was right. They couldn't investigate the weapons without the weapons.

"The werewolves' weapons were confiscated by the government. We have to find a way to get our hands on the weapons," Kevin replied.

They all knew about that fact, but they didn't know how to get their hands on the weapons.

"We can't just ask the government to let us investigate the weapons," Blue chimed in helplessly.

Kevin nodded in confirmation. The girl was not wrong. They were investigating in secret, so it was not a good alternative to do the investigation openly in front of the government. They couldn't trust anyone, for now, so they had to be cautious.

"You're right, Blue," Kevin finally replied after a few minutes he was in deep thought. "For now, we need to find the information about which bureau has the right to confiscate the weapons. After that, we can make a new plan regarding how we should investigate the weapons."

"What? Are we going to rob the bureau after we get the information? That will be so cool!" Jack suddenly chimed in excitedly.

The three people could only roll their eyes. This serious case was like a game in Jack's eyes.

"I agree with Kevin," Kris stated. "We have to be careful with our investigation. We still have no clue about Professor Beischel's accomplice. The accomplice can be anyone, so we shouldn't trust anyone."

Kevin and Blue nodded in unison. They scowled at Jack, and the latter also nodded his head in the end.

The atmosphere was a bit calmer after they made a decision. They finally could breathe normally again after a quite long time. Unfortunately, Kevin didn't let them breathe freely for too long because he once again broke the silence.

"Anyway, I want to investigate a person," he declared, making the three people frown at him. "Lucy Irvine. I want to investigate her."

The unfamiliar name confused the three people in the living room.

"Who's Lucy Irvine?" Kris was the first one who voiced his confusion.

"She was my mother's best friend," Kevin answered. "She had passed away a long time ago even before I was born, and the cause of the death was unknown. She's my mother's best friend, so I really want to know about her. Perhaps she knew my mother's other secrets that haven't been revealed until now."

"The person had died, so how can we investigate a dead person?" Jack asked lazily. He once again leaned his back on the sofa and started playing with his phone.

Kevin fell silent. Even though Jack was careless, but he was right. His mother's best friend had died a long time ago, so it wouldn't be easy to look for any pieces of information about her.

The scientist then flinched a bit when he felt a light tap on his shoulder. He turned to his side and found Kris smiling sweetly at him.

"Don't worry, Kev. I will help you to find out about Lucy Irvine. No matter how hard it will be, I will always be by your side."

His lover's smile was like an eraser to eradicate all his worries inside his heart. The hard feeling was gone as he returned the smile.

"Get a room, you two!" Jack exclaimed angrily as he got up from his seat. "I'm really tired to see your endless PDA!" He then walked away to leave the living room. It seemed that he was going to his room.

The three people were taken aback by Jack's sudden reaction, but it looked like Kris was the one with the greatest shock in his heart. He just stared in Jack's direction blankly even after the latter had disappeared from his sight.

"You okay, Kris?" Kevin's voice broke his lover's reverie.

Kris blinked his eyes and turned to Kevin. "I'm okay," he answered as he showered his lover with a loving smile. "Today must be so hard for you, Kev. Let's go home so you can have some rest."

Kris was about to get up from his seat, but Kevin quickly held his arm, stopping his movement instantly.

"Wait, Kris," the black-haired man spoke. "I still have one thing to announce today," he continued as he looked at Kris and Blue earnestly.

Kris frowned as he stared at his lover. "What is it, Kev?" He asked curiously.

Kevin looked a bit hesitant, and he took a deep breath before answering, "I'm going to do the extraction procedure this week."

And that answered shocked both Kris and Blue.
