yle had no recollection of how he got home.Richard said someone driving a car with dark tinted windows had buzzed the intercom and left Kyle lying on the ground just outside the gate. He was unconscious.

The **** allegations were quickly withdrawn and there was a lengthy retraction in almost very major newspaper. Kyle decided to sue the model for everything she was worth-not that he needed the money but he wanted to teach her a valuable lesson. It turns put JP had paid her a million dollars to lie but the lawsuit was going to cost her a whole lot more.

I hadn't told him about the deal I had made with JP but I had to do it sooner than later. He had questioned me about Madeline and I told him the full story and my reasons for doing it. . I was going to return her to the dad. I was just waiting for the call and two weeks late-it hadn't come. Instead I received a call from Jean-Pierre's lawyer requesting an urgent meeting.

I was sitting in my office, contemplating whether I should accept or not when Kyle walked in, locking the door behind him.

"Hie babe" He swooped me off the chair and kissed me tenderly, then placed me down on the corner couch.

"Hie husband," I smiled up at him.

"We need to talk wife." He looked down at me, his dark eyes serious.

"Okay..let me up then." I pushed myself into a sitting position but he continued to cage me in.

"What's the deal with Maddie? " He cut straight to the chase.

"I've been waiting for JP to call but he hasn't.. "I trailed off.

"So..what do we do now?" He frowned.

"Wait I guess-there's no other way to contact him or find him, so we just have to be sitting ducks. Is she bothering you?" I tried to read his thoughts but couldn't.

"No babe-I was just wondering that's all. Doesn't she have any other family, a next of kin?"

"Not that I know of-well there's an uncle but from what he told me they're at loggerheads and they haven't spoken for more than ten years. So I guess his out of the runnings." I mused.

"Oh," he scratched his head.

"I got a call from JP's lawyer and he wants us to meet..?"

"I want to be there." He stated.

"Sure, no problem-can we have sex now?"

The day was almost over and Kyle spent the day with me, while I tried to work.Rita had joined us and we all had lunch together. We talked about going to see our parents over thanksgiving and Kyle was a bunch of nerves.

"I've never had to do this so I don't even know how to behave. Do we have to stay there? I don't think we can because that would mean I can't have sex with my wife and I don't think I can handle that." He pulled his hair and slouched onto the couch.

"Kyle! You're so dramatic!" Rita clutched her stomach as she laughed.

"We can book into a hotel husband don't stress okay?" I walked over and sat on his lap.

"Hey, you cant do that!" Rita protested as she sat next to us.

"Have you told them?" I asked.

"Yeah..They were screaming down the phone," she laughed.

"That's great. at least there will be no awkwardness." I stood up to answer my ringing phone.

"Yes Andrew. Send him in."

"The attorney is here?" Kyle stood.

"Rita, please excuse us-I'll fill you in later. Promise." I squeezed her hands gently.

"Okay, I'll be in my office. Call me if you need me."

Andrew ushered in the lawyer and closed the door behind him.

"Good afternoon Mr Kinley, Mrs Kinley. My name is Victor Leonard."He was a tall, middle-aged and arrogant man. He had sharp black eyes and thin lips that were always compressed together. He walked like he owned the world and everyone else was inferior.

"Please sit down. " I gestured to the chair that was opposite ours.

"Will your husband be present? This is a rather delicate and confidential matter that I need to discuss with you." He pressed his lips together.

"I'm staying." Kyle flatly stated.

"Very well. Let us begin." Victor snapped open his brief case and produced some documents.

Kyle laced our hands together and we waited for Victor to start.

"I just dropped Mr Durand at the Police Station. He has turned himself in." He didn't flinch.

"Good for him." Kyle said, his voice dripping with contempt.

I nodded slowly, still in disbelief.

"Mr Durand has instructed me to deliver these document s over to you immediately after he-well you know." He placed the documents in front of me and he stared explaining each and every page.

I buzzed Andrew and asked him to bring refreshments. This was all too much to take in.

"So in a nutshell: Mr Durand has signed everything he owns to you and has given you full custody of his only child, Madeline Camila Durand. I'm going to take my leave now so if you have any further questions you can call me anytime. Noon or night." He placed his business card on the table.

"What? Why would he do that?" Kyle asked.

"Only Mr Durand can answer that I'm afraid." He smirked.

"What if I don't agree to all of this? What if I don't accept it?" I asked.

"Then you have to put it in writing and I will have to run it by Mr Durand first." He stared blankly.

"Give me time to think about this and to discuss it with my husband. Then I will contact you and let you know what we've decided." I walked him to the door.

"Don't take to long though. Time is of essence. Good night then."

"Can you believe that guy?" Kyle paced up and down the room.

I sat at my desk deep in thought, as Kyle ranted.

"I think I'm going to accept." I said firmly as I looked at Kyle.

The look on his face told me everything I needed to know.
