The mention of children brought pain to Maisy’s heart. It reminded her of being abandoned by her mother and being sold for a mere $100,000 to a hellish place by her father. The thing that she was about to agree to do was no different than what her parents had done to her.

However, she comforted herself with a single difference that she had found. The man she was about to enter a contract with was extremely rich. Even if her children were to leave her in the end, they would still be able to live a good life. There was even a good chance that Jay would marry a lady with a good attitude and education. Children who grew up in such a good environment would become like their father, well-educated and successful, unlike her who had to struggle in the poorest part of the society.

Yet, no matter how much Maisy tried to comfort herself, there was still something she couldn’t let go of. “Can I visit my children?” After asking the question, she suddenly found it funny. It was as if they already had children and were discussing their divorce.

“Depends on the situation,” Jay replied in an uncertain manner. “If the situation allows it, I’ll let you meet them. But if it doesn’t, then you might not be able to see them.”

“That won’t do! I have to see them! Even once a year is enough!” Maisy sternly requested.

A hint of surprise could be seen in Jay’s eyes as he quietly studied the lady in front of her. He wasn’t expecting that she would argue with him about her visitation. Instead of asking for more than $5 million after the termination of the contract, she requested the right to meet with her children instead. It made the man look at her in a new way and confirmed his guess that her grandfather was an important figure in her life for her to risk everything without giving any second thoughts.

“Why don’t we put a hold on this matter for now?” Jay suggested as he looked at the excited lady. “We can rediscuss that once we have our child.”

That managed to calm Maisy down instantly. She agreed with the man’s suggestion as it was weird to argue over the children’s visitation right when she wasn’t even sure she could get pregnant yet.

“So, is there anything else you would like to discuss regarding the contract?” Jay gently asked.

“Not at the moment.” Maisy shook her head. She wasn’t sure if there really wasn’t anything else for them to discuss. Perhaps they would encounter other problems in the future, but all she could focus on was saving her grandfather first.

This was the first time in Maisy’s life that she finally understood the meaning of the phrase, “Money makes the mare go.”

After coming up with a draft for the Maternity Agreement, Jay had someone buy a wardrobe full of clothes for Maisy. She finally did not have to walk around the house in the same white shirt. She even discussed sex with Jay in a serious manner. After getting the man’s approval to leave, she immediately headed to the hospital to visit her grandfather.

“I-isn’t it expensive to stay here?” Maisy exclaimed when she got there.

The ward her grandfather lived in had two separate rooms, the actual ward and a living room filled with a set of couches, a large 4K TV, a series of famous artworks, and a huge fridge. The room even had its own bathroom. No matter how Maisy looked at it, the place looked more like a five-star hotel than a hospital ward.

Maisy’s grandfather had fallen asleep after taking his medication. That was when Maisy finally learned that money could get her anything she wanted. As soon as Jay promised to take care of her grandfather, not only did the hospital perform the surgery on the old man right away, but they also arranged for him to stay at the VIP ward. Additionally, Jay had her grandfather’s attending doctor switched to the vice-director of the hospital.

Maisy learned from the doctor that after the incident, her grandfather’s body had become weaker than before. After hearing that, she convinced herself that she had made the right choice by signing the contract with Jay. At least, her grandfather could get the best treatment from the hospital.

Because of that, her mental state changed again. She was determined to strictly follow the contract terms so that she could be free as fast as possible. The only problem was that she had to visit the hospital daily and Jay was busy with his work. The result was that even though she was staying in his room, they rarely ran into each other.

A week had passed since Maisy had agreed to Jay’s request, but nothing had happened between them yet. She was worried that if things went on like this, it would take a long time for her to finish her task. She started to wrack her brain to think of a method to speed up the process..
