“I-I wasn’t trying to seduce you…” Maisy explained. “I was looking for the bathroom because the sweat is making me sticky…”

It was as if Jay had finally felt how sweaty Maisy was. His expression froze. In the next second, he pushed her away in disgust. then headed into the bathroom and washed his hands. Maisy found his reaction interesting and couldn’t stop herself from studying him for a while.

“Um… So, where is the bathroom?” Maisy asked a few seconds later. “And do you have any clothes that I can wear?”

Jay glanced at the lady as if he was trying to warn her to shut up with his stare. However, in the next second, her innocent and confused expression seemed to have calmed him down. He walked back into the room and threw an oversized white shirt to her. “I don’t have clothes that fit you. Wear this.” He then pointed to where the bathroom was.

“Thank you.” Maisy genuinely smiled at the man. “You sure are a good person.”

Jay smiled, but unlike Maisy’s smile, he was laughing at how innocent she was for thinking a man who frequented a place like the Aphrodite Club and even bought her would be a good person. Yet, he didn’t say anything to her and returned back to his bedroom.

After taking a shower, Maisy fell into a deep sleep again. It wasn’t until the next morning that she was finally completely awake. She roamed around the house and could not find the man from the night before. It wasn’t until the evening that Jay got back. The atmosphere quickly turned awkward for Maisy as she had no idea how to interact with the man. She was still wearing the white shirt he had given her the night before. She wanted to ask for her phone so that she could contact her family, but she was wary that the man might not give it back to her.

Jay’s attitude toward Maisy was visibly more natural than before. He undid his necktie the moment he got home and even unbuttoned a few of the top buttons on his shirt. He walked to the minibar and poured himself a glass of alcohol. “I remember that you are already 20 this year, right? Do you want some?” he asked Maisy.

“Is that alcohol?” Maisy widened her eyes and subconsciously licked her lips.

She had never tasted alcohol in her life as she didn’t want to burden her grandfather, who had to work hard to pay for her tuition fees. Other than that, she would usually head to her part-time job right after school and never had the chance to party with her friends. Maisy was someone who could not afford the luxury to experience the normal life of a university student.

“Yes.” Jay smirked at how attracted Maisy was to the alcohol and poured half a glass of red wine for her.

If Maisy even had a little understanding of wine, she would’ve known that the red wine that Jay had poured for her was a well-aged one. It was more of a collector’s item than something people would drink.

‘I’ll drink just a little then,’ Maisy told herself. As she took the glass, their fingers touched. It made her heart race uncontrollably. She quickly took a sip. Her pretty face twisted into a frown. “Bleh! This is disgusting. I don’t like it.”

“You sure are an honest lady.” Jay laughed and took the glass of wine away from Maisy. He picked a piece of candy up from a crystal bowl on the bar, unwrapped it, and shoved it into her mouth.

Before Jay moved his hand away, he gently brushed his finger on Maisy’s soft lips.

The lady licked the candy and beamed. “This tastes better!”

Jay could not hide his interest in the lady in front of him. His eyes never left her, not even when she drank the wine. “My name’s Jay Hamilton. What’s yours?”

“Maisy Owen,” Maisy introduced herself, but her voice was slightly garbled by the candy in her mouth.

The man smiled at how natural Maisy’s reply was. “That’s a beautiful name.” He paused and then asked, “You still remember what happened before you got here, right?”

Maisy paused and stared at Jay quietly. She did remember that he was the one who bought her, but she had no idea why he did that or what he wanted to do with her. She also didn’t have the guts to ask..
