Chapter 114 - I Will Behave

"Alright fine I'm moving away from him, see now there is a distance between us," I whispered moving an inch away from Baby who angrily pulls me back into his arms with his hands firmly around my waist. I try to move but he held on to me firmly.

"Come on Baby please don't make it worse," I whispered as Baby finally let go of me angrily.

"Relax now Zenab, we're standing apart," I mumbled as Zenab and Baby angrily exchange glares, for as long as I could remember those two don't really get along and they try to avoid each other as much as possible. In fact, Baby can't stand any guy close to me.

"Nancy!" I heard grandma's fierce voice from behind, oh no another trouble, this I can't avoid.

She walks to us faking a smile but you could see how angry she was, I didn't want to cause a scene but I think we already have.

"People are watching you behave yourself," grandma hissed as she stove a glare at Prince Assin and Prince Asher tilting her head. The two of them understood her, they bow their heads slightly seeking permission to excuse themselves.

Grandma smiles as they turn their backs and disappear into the crowd.

"Zenab you should leave to your chambers, your maidens are waiting for you," grandma purred staring at Zenab while faking a smile. Oh, how I wish grandma will also tell me to go to my chambers so I can get to be alone with Baby and quench my taste of seduction that has already overwhelmed me. I was burning with desire, yearning for my lover's touches.

"But grandma..."

"Zenab what now are you running away from your responsibilities?" grandma hissed.

"No grandma," Zenab replied turning his back to leave. he didn't look like the happy guy earlier.

"and Nancy you follow me we need to talk," grandma mumbled now fixing her sharp gaze on me, I could only lower my head.

"Um.."

"and I mean right now," she said with a smile, of course, people were watching but behind the smile was angry, the smile faded as quickly as it formed.

"Yes grandma," I said quietly staring at Baby who was standing an inch away. I followed grandma as he tags behind us.

Grandma greeted everyone that had eye contact with. "My queen congratulations," a sneaky voice said with a smile, it was a man, an older man probably in his fifties, and looking at how he was dressed he might be one of the tribe leaders.

"I hope you are having fun?" grandma asked with a smile.

"Yes, your highness,"

"Great, please have some more drinks before you leave," grandma said as she calls a maid over to serve the man.

"Thank you, your highness," the man grins in pleasure.

"Excuse me, I will be right back," grandma mumbled as she walks away from the man and greets another lady who also look like a royal with her youth or fair light skin she might be a princess but she looks a little different,

how different you might ask? another man just wrap his hands around her neck claiming ownership of her while she was talking to grandma so I was right she is not a princess but a concubine.

I stood at a stay distance while grandma greets the people she met on the way, we finally made it out of the ball and walk straight to the private hall.

Grandma patiently waits for me and Baby to enter, the guard gently locks the door behind him.

"Can you explain this Nancy? what the hell were you thinking romancing a guy publicly in the mix of all the leaders of the Zamuniland?' oh yes I knew this was going to happen the very moment she ordered me to follow her.

"Um.." what do I tell her, he is my husband looking at how angry grandma is right now I dare not say that out loud.

"...you are going to have them talking and questioning your morality and your reputation as the princess of this land," grandma angrily said fidgeting with her hands as if she was nervous about something, is she concerned about my reputation as the princess of Zamuniland or she just hates the fact that Baby is here with me right now?

"I'm sorry Grandma," I whisper, lowering my gaze to the ground I can't afford to look into her eyes right now. I don't know why I should be shame, he's my husband and soon or later they're going to find out.

I'm not really a princess, I'm just a normal girl in love with a normal guy, well not a normal guy but a normal girl in love. I said to myself trying to justify my actions, which I know I have no right to.

"What are you mumbling about? have you lost your tongue now? speak up," grandma asked with keen interest, I need to find a way to soothe her anger else she won't let this slide.

"I was trying to say I have put you and my dear brother in a serious situation for that I'm truly sorry, I mean it granda," I mumble lowering my gaze when grandma's eyes met with mine.

Even though I didn't grow up in Zamuniland there are still some traditions that need to be followed and that includes the untainted reputation and purity of a princess but unfortunately, I'm not really a princess and that's not any fault of mine, is it? I thought.

"Nancy this is serious, you need to learn how to behave in front of people and behind closed doors, those two are two different things," grandma mumbled staring at me, Baby was quiet the whole thing he sure knows when not to butt in although he was fuming in anger.

"also realize your relationship with him is not made public, you only made people raise an eyebrow about your character," grandma rumbles.

"I'm sorry," I said in a soft voice like the good girl that I am.

"If you keep this up, I'm going to have to find you a husband that the public will accept," grandma threaten and there was no smile on her face she is just messing with me even though she look damn serious about it.

"What!" I mumble as my face drops and my eyes wide open, she can't be serious. I'm already married and have kids in case she has forgotten. I said to myself.

"Oh grandma I'll keep your threat in mind, I will learn how to behave properly from now on, as a real good-mannered princess that befits the caliber of a Zamuniland princess," I whispered trying not to smile or laugh.

"are you making jokes right now?" grandma purred.

"Alright fine grandma I get it, I will behave myself and I'm sorry about early," I grumble, all my effort to blackmail grandma emotionally is yielded to nothing. How do I have her drop all this? the fountain of anger in her eyes still hasn't melted away.

"and that husband of yours can't stay here in the palace for long so he better hurry up and go back to where he came from," Grandma said unfazed.

"Come on Grandma you can't just ask him to leave, he's the father of your great-grandchildren," I sniffed staring at grandma.

"How about that I make him disappear instead," grandma rumbles with a slight smile on her face, I think the anger ice is melting. I think my emotional blackmail is working now her eyes were filled with affection.

"Awww, that will break my heart," I said holding my chest, faking a pain.

"I see, you are impossible to deal with, just make sure he stays out of public eyes," she said.

"That does mean he can stay?" I grin blinking my eyes like a pitiful puppy. She ignores my question as she walks closer to me, she taps my hair and smiles lightly at me, just when I thought everything was calm now she drops this.

"Please behave yourself from now on, stop giving your brother problems and reason for people to stand against him," grandma whimpers as I nod my head.

"...When it's time for him to ascend the throne, he has just chosen a bride and once any of them conceive, he's going to ascend the throne as the king of Zamuniland, making you the sister of the king," she whispers holding my hands, I already know that but why is grandma saying that and more so her tone.

"being the sister of a king and being the sister of a prince is two different things," she paused holding my both hand now burning them in hers.

"How so grandma?"

"You will have roles and responsibility to do to assist your brother rule and that includes marrying anyone he wishes for you to marry for peace," grandma whispers letting go of my hands, she cups my face in her hands then walk away from me leaving me no chance or time to process everything.
