Chapter 20 - Escaped

Nancy glimpse at Wolfe as she smiled, he sits at her feet.

"Oh, shit" she grins as she jumped out of the chair, after looking at her wristwatch. It was past 8.

"I need to go Wolfe, behave yourself," she said as she hurry to the car. She woke up late, her parents were not around to wake her up.

She drove in a hurry to school. "Hey, Jess! What happened to you?" Roland scoffs looking around the class if someone was listening.

"You look like a ghost" Betty whispered but it was loud enough for the entire class to hear.

"Quiet you're going to get us kicked out from the lecture hall" Nancy whispered as low as possible.

"Silence Miss Neo," Mr. Johnson said looking in Nancy's direction.

Nancy's POV

He went on and on with the lecture. I was dozing off throughout the entire lesson.

Just when my head was about to explode the bell rang. "Thank God" I needed a break.

"What happened? You look like a rag" Roland whispered as he drags me out for our next class.

"Hey, there, little cub," a familiar voice said. I turned and it was Baby standing right there.

A slight smile lit my face as I try to keep my cool.

"Hey," I rolled my eyes. I couldn't stop myself from smiling mischievously. I was glad to see him. He looked perfect in his blue-fitting T-shirt. His muscle could make you go wild.

He smiled and my heart fluttered. I wave to him.

"See you around little cub," he said as he walk past us. I glared at him till he disappeared into the hallway.

"Hey, move it, will you?" Roland whispered pulling me along.

"Stop it, Roland?" I giggled, drawing the attention of some passer-by. I was excited to see him apparently he is not and he had made that obvious enough.

"I know that look" Betty scoffs

"What looks?" I asked with a sly smile

"That one" she replied as we enter the class.

"She likes him" Roland whispered as we found a seat at the front row.

"Oh, no, that's not true" I stammered luckily the teacher walks in. We halt the conversation.

The class ended, the whole time l was praying the teacher doesn't ask me anything else, I would have been in trouble. All my mind was on Baby.

"Now, will you tell us about your adventure last night?" Roland grins

"Don't even ask"

"First, I met the Collin's in the woods; second, I run into a wolf that was wounded. I brought it home to treat it"

Roland springs to his feet as the words leave my mouth. Betty had her mouth wide open in shock.

"Wait, you what?" Roland was more surprised than Betty. I couldn't tell which part got them shock.

"The part where I met the Collin's or the part where I saved a wolf is shocking" I scoff while packing my books.

"You met a wolf in the woods" Roland whispered grabbing my hands to check.

"What are you looking for?" I asked pulling my hands back.

"Did it attack you? focus Nancy" he asked looking serious.

"No like I said it was wounded barely alive. I only applied some herbs on the wound" I explained waiting for an explanation of his reaction.

"Thank goodness," he sighted.

"Didn't anyone forbid you from going into the woods? Much less at night" Betty said blinking.

"What if it was a werewolf? My dear friend would have been gone by now" Roland jokes trying to hide his concern, but the seriousness in his voice showed he was not joking.

"Shss, werewolf? Do they even exist, to begin with?" I scorn as we walk out of the class.

"You might be in for a surprise, just be careful" Roland whispered.

"You say strange things sometimes" I grin clinging onto his hands. He smiled and runs smooth hands through his hair. Betty messes it up and runs away. He runs after her. I smiled as they playfully fight.

I lost sight and bump into Alina and her pups. She stared at me with an evil eye and walks away.

Behind her was Baby. I smiled mischievously as my eyes set on him.

He smiled back, walk to me and grabbed my hands. We're running at a full speed.

Roland saw us leaving the school premises
