Chapter 64 - 18 Can't Think Of A Name

"Would that work..... no, no that won't do it"

"Damn it! Why the hell is this so fuċkɨnġ difficult to figure out" I couldn't help but yell in frustration as I glared at the glass jars in front of me.

I was currently sitting on a fancy looking chair with my hands over my face in a rather odd and messy looking room, the whole place looked like it was owned by a bloody lunatic. Their were papers with various peaces of information thrown a cross the floor, dozens of glass jars filled with different types of insects and plants placed all over the room. To make things even worse for myself, if anyone were to walk into the room right now they would see me talking to myself like an idiot in the centre of the room.

(Sigh, I've been at this for four days now and still nothing has changed, honestly I'm starting to wonder if this is even possible at this point)

It had been around about two weeks since the battle with the Cultists and a lot has changed in that little amount of time. First, I've not only replenished my lost forces but I've also greatly added to them. Second, the former slaves or towns people have started helping out around the place in various ways, well the ones that have somewhat got their minds back in order anyway. Most of them that had volunteered to help are either helping with crafting and other things like that, hunting any wild animals that they can find or training to learn how to fight more properly. Third, the town has almost been fully repaired while the renovations and mapping out of the old Slave camps is still underway, we were quite surprised with just how big the underground area was.

Finally, while all this had been going on I've been experimenting with my soul sight skill in several different ways. I believe that I'm on to something and if I'm right about this it could change everything, it could also make this war go a hell of a lot easier if I'm able to pull this off. So yeah, that's the reason why I currently look like a crazy person.

(Still can't believe it's been just over a month since I left Tempest even though so much has happened.... I wonder what everyone is up to now a days. Sigh, well at least I'll have one hell of a story to tell when I get back) I thought while glancing out the nearby window.

"Alright back to work then, hmmm, let's try something else now shall we, maybe if I-" however before I could finish that sentence the doors to the room flung open.

"Mistress, you mustn't over work yourself like this" a cold ethereal female voice could be heard as someone walked into the room.

Oh right, that's something else that has changed. Apparently Fuyuko has been reading a lot of books she found in the castle library, she had managed to somehow find a book that had information on maids and had quickly took to the concept. In fact even her body had some how managed to changed to match the new position she had taken for herself. She still had her wings and dark metallic silver colour but now her body structure had changed to look more like that of a maid's outfit, oh and she also had taken to calling me mistress much to my displeasure.

"Come on, I'm not that bad" I said as I noticed Poe walk in behind her carrying a silver tray above his head with a cup of tea on it.

"Awwww, thank you Poe" I smiled as I took the cup from him.

"You haven't left this room in four days and I am betting that you haven't been getting any sleep, after all if I'm not wrong you just got the Sleep resistance skill" she said with a roll of her eyes.

"How did you know I got that skill yesterday?!" I gasped in shock.

"I didn't"

"Eh? Oh...." I could tell if she had a mouth she would be smirking right now.

"Okay, okay you got me there" I said as I started drinking the tea I was given with a sigh.

"Now are you going to leave this room so I can finally get someone to help me clean it?"

I was about to argue back but the tug on my leg from Poe who was currently looking up at me with a pretty cute worried expression, well as worried as a teddy bear could look. Seeing that I was probably going to lose this argument I decided to just give in.

"....Well.... alright fine you win, I might as well go out for a little bit and get some fresh air. Actually now that I think about it going out may do me some good in the end, after all the more annoyed I get with this the harder it will probably become. Oh and I also need to see what's going on in town and how the training is coming a long anyway"

"Great, now get going and don't forget to take your guards with you" I couldn't help but groan outwardly at that.

"You guys do know I can take care of myself right? I mean I'm the strongest person here and seriously it's not like I'm even capable of dying"

"I know that but in the end it makes us feel better knowing that you have someone there to protect you if you ever need it" she said while folding her arms.

"Okay fine I'll take them with me. Sigh, you know, you can be kind of annoying sometimes"

I quickly finished my tea before standing up and walking past Fuyuko while stretching my body out a little. As soon as I got to the door two jet black figures quickly dropped down from the ceiling behind me. I didn't even need to turn around to know who they were as they had been in the room for quite a while now, they were my stalke-I mean bodyguards and as for what they were well, they were Abyssal harbingers.

The Harbingers were the volunteers that had decided to become Monsters, of course I had straight up refused to transform the children that volunteered but anyone old enough to make their own choices were welcome. Anyway, to be honest I wasn't expecting their bodys to change so dramatically, however, to my surprise they seemed completely fine with it.

Their whole bodys had been completely covered in a hardened chitinous exoskeleton that was a metallic black in colour. They were about 2.4 meters in height on average making them able to tower over most people around them. Their arms were quite long and ended in large four talon like claws with red coloured ends that were mainly used for slashing, their feet also had four long claw like toes with one of them coming out of the back of the foot to help with grabbing and climbing. They were also rather skinny looking but that only seemed to add to their sleek and smooth appearance.

Continuing on from there they had a long prehensile tail that ended in a sword like blade, also running down there backs from the top of their head down to the tail were long sharp poisonous spines with red striped tips. Their heads were the most eye catching thing about them if you asked me. First, was their much larger mouths that no longer had any gums covering their now serrated teeth, instead chitin covered plates that could be retracted into the head hid the mouth, this little feature made it look as if they didn't even have a mouth to begin with when the plates were covering them. Finally, they had one massive eye that when vertically from the top of the head down just above the mouth area, their pupil also resembled the pupils of a cat's eyes.

It was also of note that it was impossible to tell is they were once humans or elfs as none of their racial traits could be seen. For example, their ears were no longer visible as they were hidden behind a thin layer of chitin.

"Alright you two let's get going then before Fuyuko decides to throw me out"

"Ah, you know what, I really needed this" I said while happily walking through town.

"This place is looking a lot better compared to the dark and ominous ghost town it used to be when I first arrived here" I said while glancing back at my guards, one of them was walking on all fours while the other one was walking up right.

(There's still a couple of problems here and there that are in need of fixing around town. For example we are eventually going to start running out of food if this keeps up, even with all the hunting and foraging going on it just isn't enough to feed this many people in the end. I mean I could pull out all those lunch boxes Shion made me but I would rather not have to poison people if I don't have to) I thought as I took a look around.

I was glad to see that some people were walking around with a more happy and hopeful appearance, honestly I felt my heart break a little when I had first seen them after the battle so of course it was good to see that their mental states had healed, even if only a little. I also saw a group of my newest creations flying over head towards the far side of the town, they were the Abyssal gargoyles.

(Huh, I wonder what their up to) I thought to myself.

The Gargoyles are able to fly pretty well and because of this they can greatly help in making up for our lack of air power in battle. They are also on par with the Abyssal living armours in strength so a bit of a rivalry has formed between the two species.

A Gargoyle's physical appearance can vary greatly from others of it's kind, what I mean by that is that they come it many different forms and sizes. Some Gargoyles look like your stereotypical demons, others look like small imps and others look like a humanoid goat with razor sharp teeth. The only real common traits among all of them are the bat like wings, the humanoid appearance, and the fact that their body's were covered in grey scales that makes them look some what organic but in reality they are made entirely out of incredibly condemned stone. Something else of note that I forgot was that all of them had glowing orange eyes that flickered like fire.

(They're probably off to the training grounds on the other side of town. I actually need to go over there at some point and see how things are coming a long. Sigh, I also have to go see how Kean is doing, after all he has to deal with Rai's and Yama's constant arguments about who is the better warrior) I thought with a shake of my head as I walked past a group of dwarfs doing work on one of the buildings.

Yama was the name of the first Abyssal gargoyle that I ever created, the reason why I had named him Yama is because his warrior's pride, as he calls it, is as big as a mountain. The first thing he asked me when he came in to being was if he could fight me in glorious battle or not. Sadly for him though Rai was there and didn't take much of a liking to that so the two ended up fighting each other, ever since then the two of them have become rivals and it's seem the other members of their species had followed suit.

"Little Suu" an elderly male sounding voice came from my left.

"Huh, oh yeah what is it Gramps?" I said as I turned to the source of the voice with a smile.

Gramps, as he likes to be called, was your stereotypical white haired little old man with a walking stick, also he is a tea lover just like me and he happens to be a very powerful mage. Oh yeah, did I forget to mention that he is apparently a human yet he's over two hundred and fifty years old, he has a unique skill called Wise hermit that massively increases his lifespan and also gives him other abilities. He had become something of a leader or mayor of the whole town so I've had several very pleasant meetings with him.

"It's good to see you out and about little one, I bet little Fuyuko gave you a good talking too after all that time you spent in that room of yours" he said with a small nod of approval.

"Well..... haha" I looked away while laughing awkwardly

"Oh and how are you two doing" Gramps said looking at the two following behind me.

"We are well" their voices seemed to almost echo as they spoke.

"Good good, now on to why I'm here, it would seem that there is a little bit of a ruckus going on in the training area"

"Sigh, of course they would be at it again" I said with a shake of my head while also facepalming.

"Alright, I'll go sort it out now"

"Thank you little one" he smiled as he turned and walked off.

(I still find it ironic that he calls everyone 'little one', when he himself is the smallest person around here) I thought while rubbing the back of my head.

"I heard that!" I heard him yell from off in the distance.

"Wait! How did.... you know what I'm not going to question it" I said as I turned to walk towards the training area were the sound of shouting could be heard.

(Sigh, this is going to be a long day)
