Chapter 491 - Sleep for real

Name:Tell Me Again, My Love Author:Fifie
The next day Ryn woke up just before the alarm blared. She sat up and stared at the wall blankly. Slowly what happened last night crawled back into her mind.

"Oh no... it's not a dream..." she choked out as she covered her face. Things that she has shown in her life for a day and the reaction as well as the demonstration on how to avoid eating vegetables but seem like eating one.

She m.o.a.n.e.d and g.r.o.a.n.e.d, regretting what happened during the show. Although she did not care what people thought of her but showing a bad example to others (lying about eating vegetables) was not what she wanted others to learn from.

And then the phone rang...

She gasped and looked at the ringing phone. Sweat began to wet her forehead as she gulped nervously.

Last night Mika tried to ask more after the show but Ryn made use of it being late and she was exhausted to get away from all the questions. However, it seemed like Mika did not give up.

The call was from her.

Should she answer it or pretend she was still asleep? Ryn thought hard about this. She was not ready to face all the questions Mika obviously wanted to ask.

It took her twice more calls from Mika to make up her mind. With a flip of her hands, she lied down and covered herself with the blanket. It was better, rather than pretending to be asleep, she should sleep for real.

The phone kept ringing but Ryn was already deep in her sleep. It was better to sleep anyway.

It was afternoon when Ryn woke up. She stretched her arms and back and yawned sleepily. Her eyes automatically landed on her phone on the nightstand.

Even though this was her house that she bought using the money she gained from her modeling jobs, she refused to use the main bedroom. She chose the second biggest room as her bedroom. The main bedroom was for her parents and she decorated it based on her parents' preferences. For her room, she used mainly white and wooden brown as the theme. There was only a king-sized bed, two nightstands, a dressing table and a wardrobe full with Ryn's everyday outfit. She deliberately put a thick curtain to cover the windows. Because of her crazy life as a model, it affected her sleeping time and she did not want the sunlight to disturb her rest. Of course, she would not purposely not drawing the curtain at all but if she had a late night, she did not want to wake up that early.

There was five missing calls from Mika and twenty messages.

Ryn pursed her lips but she did not have the plan to answer or call Mika... yet. She wanted to finish everything she needed to do before she faced... well... 'faced' her best friend.

She put down the phone and pushed the blanket off herself. She went to draw the curtain first and winced when the sunlight hit her face. She pushed the window open and took a deep breath. The afternoon light was as hot as usual.

She looked around her room and smiled. This was what she wanted for her bedroom. Not too big and not too small. Everything she needed was in the room.

"I need to cut my hair," she murmured to herself as she looked into the mirror when she was looking for the hair claw. She still had not finished arranging the small items in her room. The things that was supposed to be in and on the dressing table was still in a box.

Even some of her clothes were still in the box.

Boxes were scattering around the house. The only thing that was already done was the arrangement of the furniture. She focused only on the essential as she was rushing to go to the show yesterday.

She ignored the boxes and went into a room. Instead of making it a guest room, Ryn decided to make it her mini gym. She installed mirror on one side as if it was a studio. She placed a treadmill, a few weights and a gym ball. To make it not too boring, she put a television and a speaker so she could either watch movies or listen to music.

She switched on the light and air-condition. Then, she switched on the television and chose a film to watch. Instead of starting her exercise straight-away, she went out and into the kitchen. Just like other rooms in her room, there were boxes scattering around and again, she ignored them.

She went straight to the huge slick stainless steel refrigerator. As she was a huge believer of a person should not starve himself for life, she actually installed two refrigerators. The fridge section was actually full with uncooked steaks. Jeremy actually bought those meat after he saw the refrigerator was working perfectly.

Ryn smiled widely at the sight of the tidy packets of steaks. Half of them already marinated in BBQ sauce while another half was the b.a.r.e steak if she wanted to create variety type of steaks or go simple with butter, salt, pepper and rosemary. She rubbed her hands gleefully before took out four packets of meats. All marinated in BBQ.

She put them aside and closed the fridge door.

Then, she checked the air-fryer. Instead of cooking them in the sizzling pan, she decided to leave them in that machine and let it worked its magic while she did something else.

And then her phone rang again.

With a heavy sigh, she hugged the bottle as she walked back into her room to retrieve it.

It was Mika... again.

This time she thought she could no longer avoid her best friend. With a stressful look, Ryn reached for her phone and slid her finger to accept the call.

"Yes, Mika...?"

"Ryn, are you awake? Did you see how many times I called you? And the messages?" Mika asked quickly.

Ryn rubbed her head. Of course she saw it but she ignored it. She did not want to answer questions regarding what happened in the restaurant that day. And she also felt she did bad during the recording and did not want to relieve the experience.

She decided from now on she would never attend this type of thing ever again. She was a model and that was her job.

"Ryn, are you awake?" Mika asked again when Ryn did not answer her at all.

"I'm here."

"Then, why aren't you telling me? I sent questions but you didn't answer," Mika asked. She sent questions in between questions whether she has awakened and asking Ryn whether she read the messages.

"I just woke up and had my shower. I'm making my breakfast," Ryn replied. She deliberately did not read the messages because she did not want to notify her best friend because she did not want to answer any of them.

"I thought we're having breakfast together," Mika cried.

Ryn scratched her head. Wait. It's already afternoon so she was technically not making breakfast but lunch. Hence, it was her brunch.

"Ryn~"

"I'm already in the middle of making food," Ryn replied. She did not want to be in the same room as Mika so to avoid the questions.

"Ryn~"

"How about we meet another time? I am quite busy today. I need to tidy up the things in the house," Ryn tried to find another way out. She really had no plan to meet Mika today. She needed time to calm herself and prepare her mental.

"Ryn~"

"You should spent time with Jason. You've been neglecting him yesterday. He must be hurt," Ryn said quickly. She tried to distract Mika with her fiancé. Hopefully she succeed.

"I'll have dinner with him tonight," Mika said happily. She already made a promise with her fiancé this morning when Jason called for breakfast. She wanted to spend time with Ryn to discuss what happened last night. She remembered clearly how Ryn asked her whether grandma and mother watched the program and she said yes, Ryn looked worried. And as she watched the recording, she understood why Ryn was so worried.

Grandmother especially would be mad when she saw the recording once it was shown in the television. Hence, in order to avoid the wrath, Mika decided to meet Ryn so they could discuss what to do.

But Ryn was busy today.

Mika pouted unhappily.
