Chapter 425 - Let her go

Name:Tell Me Again, My Love Author:Fifie
He rubbed his face and then ran his fingers through his hair. He wished it was a nightmare as well but he knew when she told him yesterday, she was being serious.

She was always serious. It was hard to see her making jokes. No, he has never seen her making a joke before.

She was being blunt like usual. She said what she felt inside and he knew that she knew it would break his heart when she said that. But she did not care. She did not care about his feeling. All she cared about was her boyfriend's feelings. She would do anything for her boyfriend. But not for him.

Who was he actually? Just someone she just met in the university and then became her colleague. Even when their friendship starting to grow closer, as he always dropped by at Angela's house and cooled meals for them, she still kept her distance emotionally.

It was hard to know what she really has in her mind because she would never show nor tell. She just showed him what she allowed him to see. He did not know the real her. He wished he knew. He wished she would let him see underneath all the layers.

But, it seemed like he was not special enough in her heart.

"Tell me you're just having a nightmare, son. Please tell me," Mrs. Si begged her son. She really liked Catherine and the thought of not having the sweet dear Catherine as her daughter-in-law.

"What are you two doing?" Mr. Si asked his wife and son after he went into his son's room. He was worried when he heard a cry so loud. He recognized the voice. It belonged to his lovely wife and he hated seeing his wife sad. He thought his son was the culprit and was prepared to punish him for making her sad.

He glared at his son suspiciously.

"Husband~" Mrs. Si went to hug her husband sadly.

"What's wrong, baby?" Mrs. Si asked her gently.

"Dear Catherine won't become our daughter-in-law~" Mrs. Si cried sadly. Her poor heart was broken so badly, she started sobbing like there was no day tomorrow.

"Catherine?" Mr. Si looked at his son in a puzzle. Who was she? He knew he heard the name somewhere but he could not remember where.

"Our future daughter-in-law," Mrs. Si sobbed. She wiped the tears from her cheeks delicately using her finger.

In her husband's doting eyes, she looked so beautiful even when crying.

"I'm not marrying her. I cannot marry her," Harry muttered.

"What? Why?" Mr. Si asked. He finally remembered who Catherine was. When he got home last time, his lovely wife was gushing for miles and miles about this wonderful woman called Catherine.

"She doesn't love me. She would not love me."

Mr. Si looked at his wife. The woman his wife really adored did not love their son? What was going on right now?

"I don't understand, hubby. Catherine doesn't seem to hate us. So why can't she join our happy family?" Mrs. Si asked her husband with her wide eyes.

Mr. Si looked at his son questioningly but his son was too heartbroken to care. He sighed and hugged her tightly. Then, he pressed a kiss against her forehead to make her feel better. "Don't worry, baby. If she is fated with us, she will join us. If her destiny is with someone else, whatever we do will not force her to join us and be happy."

"but..."

"If you really like her, you should support her. Let her go. We cannot force her feeling to like us. Like you. If you don't love me, do you think you will marry me?"

She pursed her lips.

He did not add more. He knew she needed the time to ponder over this. He kissed her forehead again. "Now, why don't we go back to our room and I will massage your back?" he suggested with a leer.

"Husband," she choked out scandalously. Her eyes widened and her cheeks reddened. Did her husband just say that in front of their son? How... how shameless!

Mr. Si wiggled his brows suggestively before pulled his shy wife out of their son's room. But he did not forget to leave the last piece of advice for his only son, "Don't get stuck in the room. The world moves with or without you so just go out and have fun. Go out with your friend."

"About Ryn..."

"About her," he cut his wife's words quickly, "If you like her, you'd want her to be happy. Support her to find her happiness and you'll feel happy too."

Harry finally sat up and looked at the door, where his parents just went through to get to their own bedroom. His shoulders sagged.

"I will feel happy when she's happy, even without me?" he choked out. His heart was still bleeding remembering what she told him. She loved her boyfriend. She didn't love him.

He closed his eyes and dropped back onto the bed. He used the pillow to cover his face. He could not think that he could be happy now. How could he be happy without her?

*~*~*~*

Ryn wrapped her wet hair with a towel and checked her face. She used so much make-up remover and face cleanser before she was happy with her face without any make-up anywhere.

Her face reddened with all the scrubbing and rubbing she did to her face. Her lips twitched. She knew she had to put on a face mask to recover, as well as slathering a lot of lip balm over her lips.

And she's hungry. She hasn't had her breakfast yet and she had to deal with the after effect of the show last night. Usually, she would wash her face before going to sleep especially when the make-up was quite thick. She did not like waking up with her eyes looked like a raccoon.

He was nowhere to be seen when she went out from her bedroom, in her usual casual attire, pajama shot, and spaghetti top. Her face was white with the mask and even her lips were shiny from so many layers of lip balm. She was not afraid, worry or ashamed to be seen by him in her mask. He already saw her like this even before they started their relationship. Mika always brought her home and had her pajama party, complete with the face mask and what not.

Even when they lived together, sometimes they would do face masks together, especially when he had to go to the studio or have a show the next day. It was funny to remember how many masks they have in the compartment for the two of them.

Her feet brought her into the kitchen. She poured a glass of water first to wet her throat. As she drank it, she looked into the cupboard to check for any food. Just anything. There should be some instant noddles left somewhere.

She knew she has at least one packet somewhere.

She was still searching when she heard someone entering the house. She paused and straightened up. She turned and looked at the person who just came in without any announcement.

"You're back? You're not going to work?" she asked in surprise to see him.

"I'm going later. I've bought us breakfast," he showed the paper bags.

At first, he thought he would just reheat steaks for their breakfast but he changed his mind when he woke up this morning. Steaks were not suitable to eat in the morning and he went to get a suitable meal for them. Of course, he was worried she would find the steaks in the refrigerator and reheat them herself for breakfast. That was why he was so rushing to buy their breakfast, he did not dare to go too far for it. He was lucky. He truly was lucky when he reached the house and she was still in the middle of searching for something to eat in the kitchen. And she forgot to look into the refrigerator!

"Good morning. How do you feel this morning? Are you still tired?" he asked. He put the bags on the counter and pulled her closer. He kissed the top of her head and then went to look for plates and bowls to put the fried bread and congee. He even managed to buy some soya bean curd and soya bean drink.

"Still a bit tired. I'll continue my sleep before the show later," she said. It was an automatic response because he always asked her about her day-to-day schedule during their previous relationship. It could be said that this type of response has engraved into her bones and brain.

And she would ask the same thing. But toward the end of their relationship, this kind of conversation disappeared. It was either they were quarreling or they did not speak at all. It was a nightmare to remember. So stressful.

"I'll send you lunch? I don't think we can have lunch together because I have a meeting today," he said with a frown.

"Just do your work. Don't worry about me," she said as she followed him to the dining table, bringing some of the food.

"I don't want you to skip any meal. You've been losing too much weight," he said as he looked at her figure unhappily. He liked when she has a little bit more meat in her. He did not want her to be too skinny. She did not look healthy when she was too skinny. He did not care what models should do or look like. All he cared about was her being healthy and happy. All he cared about was her.

"I'll eat. Don't worry," she assured him. She knew he did not like when she kept losing weight. He even wanted to buy her vitamins and even milk to add more weight. She did not understand the point of drinking milk to gain more weight. So troublesome. She hated eating things that tasted weird. She could always eat more meat to gain more weight. She did not need to eat those pills and milk.

He sighed.
