Chapter 181 - STAINED REPUTATION

The sun peeked through the parted curtains into the room, giving it a glow.

Yuxi watched the mother and daughter pair stretch and yawn on the bed and her heart fluttered.

"Ah'Xi?"

Yuxi frowned. Why is she calling out to me so sweetly.

"Why are you getting ready so early?" Xueyan got out of bed. Yuxi could tell as the bed creaked. "There's still enough time."

Yuxi stiffened when she felt Xueyan close up on her.

"Xi?"

Yuxi turned around with a serious look. "Don't call me that."

"What?" Xueyan pretended not to remember that Yuxi was mad at her. She raised her hand and pushed some strands of hair from Yuxi's face. "Let's go shop together, I need some new clothes."

Yuxi scowled. You don't need anything. "I'll get ready and be right out. You can use the opportunity to shower."

Xueyan smile was as bright as the sun. "Alright, alright." She looked down at Qingran that was still on bed. Mother will watch you. Then she ran to the bathroom.

Yuxi's mouth tugged upwards. Why is she acting so excited?

In an hour later, the two sisters strode into a mall with their hands twined.

"We should go for something simple," Xueyan noted.

"We could have just asked mother to make us something," 

"It's late now, we shouldn't stress her."

Yuxi agreed. Their mother was a designer and she was making plans on establishing a brand for the woman, if they had informed her earlier they would have been the first set of models to advertise for her.

It wasn't too late, though.

"Look at that amazing dress." Xueyan pointed at a black sequence long dress and dragged Yuxi towards it.

Yuxi had to agree that Xueyan had unique taste. "It's beautiful," she whispered but Xueyan was still able to catch it.

Xueyan smiled. "Do you want it?"

"No, no." Yuxi waved her other hand in the air. "You should be the center of attention. Not me."

"Come, on..." Xueyan pouted. "Why are you acting so coy? Hmm? Or you still won't speak to me like you normally do?"

Yuxi knew why Xueyan had dragged her out here to shop. So they could settle their differences. Yuxi had heard her telling Mei Han she had enough dress to last for a lifetime. Yuxi felt bad for yelling at her older sister but then she needed to be reprimanded even if she(Xueyan) was confused.

"What are you saying?" Yuxi shook her head. "How can you say that to me?"

"I mean," Xueyan started. "You're holding yourself back, acting like we are two new love birds... Hmm." Yuxi put a hand over her sister's mouth.

"Do you want people to think we are lesbian?" Yuxi's eyes were as wide as an eagle wings spread in the air.

Xueyan chuckled. "It's fun teasing you,"

"Hmmph," Yuxi dropped her hands and walked forward, while Xueyan trotted behind her.

A sales attendant came to meet them. "I'm here to help you shop,"

Xueyan waved the young girl off. "Don't worry, my sister has keen eyes."

The sales attendant bowed her head and backed away.

"Oh, help me with that black sequence long dress." Xueyan pointed to the dress.

The sales attendant bowed again with a big smile on her face.

They walked around more but Yuxi still didn't see a dress that caught her eyes so she sighed and dropped her self on the sofa. "There's nothing here,"

"I know right?"

Sound of laughter drifted towards the resting area, Yuxi's and Xueyan's neck veered to where it was coming from.

The three ladies shared a look before settling it on the two sisters.

Yuxi used her little finger to clean the inside of her ear, then blew at it. "Flies everywhere."

The three ladies were none other than Xiao Shiya, Chen Qingnuan and Cui Yao.

"Look what we have here," Cui Yao was the first to speak up and Qingnuan chuckled in response.

"People with low self-esteem sure knows how to speak." Yuxi smirked.

The sales attendant from earlier came to serve the sisters a glass of fresh juice each when she noticed the other three. "Madam," she bowed to Shiya.

"I came to shop with my friends," Shiya said. "Bring out our latest designs and let them chose whatever they want."

"Yes ma'am," the sales attendant bowed and hurriedly left.

Xueyan stretched out her hand to pick up the glass of juice but Qingnuan suddenly bent over and slapped it away.

"What is with you acting so high and mighty?" Qingnuan scoffed then straightened. "Not like we are not aware of your stained reputation."

Xueyan's hand on the table balled but she smiled. Her calmness annoyed them.

"Nuan ah..." Cui Yao called out sweetly. "You don't have to be so straightforward. No one would be happy with such memories." She then parted Qingnuan's head like a child that had done well.

Yuxi chuckled. "It's one thing to be a talkative and it's another not to know when to stop."

"Shut up," Cui Yao dropped herself on the couch beside Yuxi. "You're no better."

Yuxi had the urge to laugh. "Says the one that had tried sleeping with her classmate, so he could consider her for a relationship."

Cui Yao frowned. "What did you just say?"

"Ouch, seems I'm mistaken." Yuxi covered her mouth. "I'm sorry, but which one of you was head over heels for Li Xiangyang?"

Qingnuan heart skipped a beat. "What nonsense."

"Aye, then it's you." Yuxi smiled.

Xueyan couldn't help but chuckle under her breath. 'Who taught Yuxi how to be so cunning with words?'

Qingnuan swallowed. "You this stupid girl,"

"It's too early to say who the stupid one is." Yuxi stated. "Okay, you guys can shop and leave. I'm really not in the mood to entertain anyone."

Qingnuan went forward with her mouth pressed together, she lifted the glass of fresh juice and was ready to pour it all over Yuxi when Xueyan's hand held her in place, making the juice to pour all over her own hand instead.

"Xueyan,"

"Don't piss me off." Xueyan raised a brow at Qingnuan.

Qingnuan found it hard to believe. These sisters were provoking the daylight out of her. She dropped the glass back on the table and wiped her hand with a tissue.

"You should be grateful that I have learnt a lot of patience..." Qingnuan started. "You've to stop being so ċȯċky, though. I don't mind tearing off your mask."

"You must think this is in the past?" Xueyan mumbled. "But then again, you're not to be blamed. Your brain just doesn't develop."

Cui Yao hissed. "Bai Xueyan..."

"You two need to learn from her," Xueyan pointed at Xiao Shiya and her brows creased. "She must have learnt her lessons by now,"

Shiya opened her mouth to say something but ended up shutting it back. The veins on her head popped. She wished for super powers, so she could make Xueyan disappear from this world. Xueyan was the beginning of her problems and with her disappearance, her problems would disappear too. 

Xueyan was having fun taunting Shiya. Maybe the slap from the other day was able to set her brain straight.

"We shouldn't make a scene..."

"You should have informed your silly friends when you arrived." Yuxi said looking all serious. "Ouch, you're making me and my sis look like the bad guys when it's obvious your friends are evil."

Cui Yao and Qingnuan head snapped towards Shiya and waited to hear her say something in their favor but there were left with shock when Shiya was done.

"I'm sorry, I should have informed them."

"..."

"..."

Xueyan flashed Shiya a smile then tilted her head to the right. "I'm also sorry for slapping you so hard the other day. I was just paying you back for disrespecting my parents."

Cui Yao and Qingnuan had thought that the only shock they would receive was from Shiya but hearing what Xueyan had to say, they felt like they were hearing things.

"What?" Cui Yao sprang up from the sofa.

"Xueyan had slapped you?" Qingnuan turned to glare at Xueyan. 

"Why didn't you tell us?" Cui Yao inquired.

"So you could go fight?" Yuxi asked. "It's shameful that she can't even protect herself."

"I bet you two ganged up on her," Qingnuan pointed a shaky finger at the sisters.

"We?" Yuxi asked, pretending to be shocked. "I can easily take you three down. Why would we two gang up on someone as weak as her?"

"Shut up, you swine!" Cui Yao made to grab Yuxi's hair.

Yuxi was prepared for that and easily dodged, standing up to her full height she slapped Cui Yao across the face. "Don't touch me with that dirty hands of yours."

"Do you have a death wish‽" Qingnuan charged towards Xueyan.
