"What do I have to do?"

A bright smile blossomed on Cui Yao's face as she heard that. 'You are not that gullible after all.'

They set out their plan to wait for Xueyan in the restroom.

*

"What do you mean?" A very scared Xueyan asked taking few steps back.

"You don't know?" Cui Yao already had enough. She pulled at Xueyan's hair causing the naive girl to scream.

The pulling didn't stop, her hair wasn't being pulled by only one person. Xueyan could feel it but she couldn't look up, it was hurting a lot.

Suddenly she lost consciousness and fell down.

"Ah!" Qingnuan screamed. "Is she dead?"

Cui Yao had the urge to hit her friend. "Shut up! Can't you see she's just putting on an act?"

Qingnuan staggered back. "Maybe we killed her by mistake," she was shaking all over.

"Get a grip on yourself!" Qingnuan would drive her crazy, just like Xueyan was driving her nuts. She kicked Xueyan on the stomach twice but when Xueyan didn't make a sound she stopped.

"What will we do, if the school finds out?" Qingnuan was terrified by that thought.

"Let's leave first." Cui Yao said. Turned off the light and went for the door. But as she opened the door the person she saw there sent chills all over her.

*

School was over, and Jiuwen had agreed to escort Xueyan home. She waited anxiously outside, she watched everyone leave but there was no Xueyan.

She had a bad feeling, her stomach was grumbling with some weird noise.

Then she saw Shiya leave, alone... Normally, if Shiya was leaving, they would be two extra cars behind that belonged to Cui Yao and Qingnuan.

Her eyes bulged, and her breathing became hard.

As she entered the passage way, she pulled down her leggings, she stopped over at the sports room to pick up a wooden bat.

There was anger bursting inside her. She wanted to know what those two were up to and if it happened to be Xueyan... She didn't know what she will do.

*

She wasn't the only worried person, as Zhaolin paced to and fro in front of the school.Find authorized novels in , faster updates, better experience, Please click #'s-love_13372375705587405/warnings_51070287701142585 for visiting.

Everyone had left but where was she?

He looked towards his driver whom pleaded with his eyes that they should leave.

"I need to find her,"

"Young master, don't do this. Please don't." The man begged.

"I'll go in, and find her. If you don't see me in thirty minutes time, return home and tell my parents I went out with Xi and Dai."

The driver wanted to protest but when he opened his mouth nothing came out so he gave up.

Zhaolin disappeared through the doors and went to search each classroom.

"Hahaha," Jiuwen couldn't control that terrific laugh from escaping her throat. "Seems like someone has been caught in the act." She wiped her nose and the sweat on her forehead. "Why did you have to make me run here like a fool? Hunh?"

Her eyes were bloodshot, she looked pass Cui Yao to see the shaking Qingnuan. She looked terrified. Like she had just seen a ghost.

"What?" Jiuwen raised an eyebrow, as her jaws clenched. She could already tell what they did by the shock they received when they opened the door to her. "You can't talk anymore?"

She took a step into the restroom. "Make sure none of you leaves."

With that warning, Jiuwen passed the two and after taking the second step she saw Xueyan lying on the floor, there was scratches on her face.

Jiuwen knees gave out on her, "What is wrong with you?" She carried the younger girl in her hands and tried to shake her awake. "Why isn't she waking up? What did you do to her?"

Cui Yao grabbed Qingnuan and they ran outside.

"Hey!!! You two should come help me." But her words only echoed in the dark bathroom.

Jiuwen didn't know when tears started dropping from her eyes.

"What did they do to you? What did they do to you, you poor thing?" Jiuwen cried out.

*

Zhaolin had heard someone running so he came out to check, but telling from the two girls running, he knew that none of them was Xueyan.

Xueyan hair was pure black, but the two had a touch of brown to their hair.

Then he heard some cries. He took large steps towards the cry and soon he was standing in front of the female restroom.

"Jiu?"

"Zhao... Zhao... Zhaolin, she, she," Jiuwen couldn't make any correct sentence.

He looked down to see a none breathing Xueyan in Jiuwen's arm.

"What happened here?"

"I don't... I don't... I don't know, Zhao." Cries came after that sentence.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry." Jiuwen said continuously until she sprang up from her bed. Her face was covered with tears. The cry got more worst as she was now awake. It made her heartache, her head hurt too.

Pain engulfed her, "I've really wronged you, Xueyan. I'm sorry."

Her door was pushed open and Riuwen rushed in. He pulled her into his arms and tightened his hands around her.

"It's fine, it's okay." He said in a cajoling voice. "Stop hurting yourself. Stop crying so much."

"I'm, I'm still paying for my sins. I should have paid more attention to her."

"No, you did just good. You saved her, you should believe that. You had been her guardian angel." He patted her softly on the back.

She whimpered for a while more before eventually falling back asleep.

Riuwen was mad, mad at himself for not looking out for his sister. Mad at himself for not listening when she said the girls were bullying Xueyan... He was the one that needed to be punished, not his sister.

He covered her up, watched her for a when before going back to his room.

Jiuwen was going after the Xiao's and her nightmares returned... Or is it that I've not been paying close attention?

He looked back at the door.

"Whichever way, Almighty let me pay for my sister's sin. Please let her have a good life."

Unlike the previous night, Xueyan had a very sweet dream but she was bothered.

They had been so happy, having fun and laughing to their heart content.

And it was in a foreign land.

It showed herself, her little baby, Zhaolin and one other person that she couldn't see the face.

It was him, Zhaolin's child. Why didn't she see his face though?

She touched her forehead.

"Mom, you're awake." Qingran came out of the bathroom with a towel in her hand. "You must have had a sweet dream,"

Xueyan chuckled. "What are you talking about?"

"It's so obvious, your face is so shiny and you look so beautiful too."

Xueyan chuckled more. "It's obvious, your face is so shiny and you look more beautiful than ever." Xueyan corrected.

"Ok, I understand." She went to go get changed.

Xueyan went to go take her shower. And when she came out she saw Qingran was still in the room, playing with her iPad with a box of chocolates by her side.

She thought about what Zhaolin had said to her. Will she be fine alone?

"Bai Qingran,"

The sudden call of her full name made Qingran look up at her mother with eyes that asked if she has done something wrong.

"My baby, you don't have to look like that." She got closer and carried the girl onto her ŀȧp. "I just wanted to ask if there's anything you wanted,"

"No, I'm okay."

"Please tell me, I'll get it for you. You know I now have a large salary. Demand for anything you want, I'll grant it."

"Hehe, I'm fine mommy."

"Okay then, is there anywhere you want to go?"

"No. I'll stay with you, granny, grandpa and aunt Yuxi. I can't wait for uncle Shihuan to return so we will all be happy once again, together."

Xueyan brushed her daughter's hair backward with her palm, "You're so sweet. You no longer want me to buy you a daddy?"

Qingran gasped. "Why would you do that?" She then waved her hands. "You don't need to, I now have a daddy."

Xueyan just wanted to tease her but she was acting so cute. "Alright, alright. I won't buy a daddy. But he wants you to... wants you to..."

"Wants me to what?"

"To go on a vacation with his son?"

"Oh. My. Goodness!!! Really?" Qingran burst with happiness. She stood up and danced around on the bed. "Yes, yes. Yes, yes."

Xueyan felt betrayed but she hadn't expected much. "Why are you so happy? You just said you didn't want to go anywhere. My heart is broken." Xueyan made an acting sob.

"Oh my, did I really break your heart?" Qingran stopped dancing and wiped her mother's tears. "I'm sorry,"

Xueyan didn't even know tears had come out of her eyes. She was hurt, if she was being sincere.

"It seems like you are starting to like him more than me. What if he snatch you away from me? I would die, from pain."

"No, no. Don't say such horrible things mom, no one will snatch me away from you, ever. And you are not dying. Don't you dare leave me and die!" Qingran warned sternly that Xueyan started giggling.

"Yes, I wouldn't dare."
