Chapter 157 - LOVE AND LIGHT

"That's our queen mother!"

"Oh my gosh, I'm getting that buŧŧerfly top for myself!"

"Such a beaut!"

"Yan'er the queen, I can't believe I'm seeing you for real."

"Our lovely goddess."

Different people spoke at the same time so, Xueyan couldn't capture everyone's comment. But it made her happy, that these people loved her. Her brain would never die on the rumours about her being poor and wretched. How she starved and stole clothes from stores to look good.

Her fans opened a donation account, and the total money collected in a week was fifteen million. They sent it to her as her past birthday gift. 

She rejected it at first but was pressurized into accepting it. She bought a very big house, and turned it into a charity home.

Zhaolin had also invested. Though she was strongly against the idea, he didn't mind her and went ahead with his plan.

"Get me your statement of account. I need to know how much you earn and how much you spend. Can you do that?"

"No!" She had rejected.

He scoffed and walked away.

Wait, is he throwing a fit? That idea made her laugh out loud and he spun around to know why the sudden laughter. Then she stopped laughing, straightened up and walked towards him.

"Baby..." Horror, she had wanted to bite off her tongue. She always called him that name in her head but didn't discover it would slip one day.

Zhaolin thought their was something wrong with his ears, he cleaned them and asked her to repeat herself. She vehemently shook her head. 

He really wanted to hear say it again, so while her guard was loose he held her firmly on the waist. Refused to let go, until footsteps came their way.

"Zhaolin," she whispered. "Just let go," they had gone to a dinner date, so they were just casually chatting at the underground parking lot.

"Until you call me baby."

It was as if the footsteps got closer, she shut her eyes tightly and whispered. "Baby,"

"Hmmm? Didn't hear you."

He heard her mȯȧn. "Baby," 

"No, that sounds so raw and unromantic." 

And Xueyan thought about a kdrama she recently watched, the lovers had kissed passionately to take eyes off them. She didn't know where the courage came from but she snuggled out of his embrace, then put his hands on her waist brought his face down and kissed him on the lip, in her head she had wanted to try out that same passionate kiss the couple shared but withdrew after her lips touched his. He took the invite way too serious and the kiss went deeper.

"Oh my, what are they doing out here?"

"That kiss is way too steamy, you two should get home first!"

"Listen! They are children here, you're corrupting them."

"Wait, are they deaf and dumb?"

"I want to believe they are."

"Let's just leave them."

After standing there for a while, he cleared his throat.

While Zhaolin turned to eye him dangerously, Xueyan looked away and refused to look straight at anyone till she got home. Once home, she rushed out of the car and into their elevator.

Zhaolin whom had something to say, watched on with his mouth open.

Finally Xueyan was inside the big hall, the hallways were filled with both girls and boys chanting her name. She raised her hand to wave.

"Bai Xueyan, I love you!"

"I love you too!"

"We love you!!!" 

The screams were deafening. As her train of guards moved everyone joined them from the back. Xueyan got inside the big hall only to find the walls filled with her pictures.

Even some pictures she didn't recognize them. She also saw some when she had gone on a date with Zhaolin, but thankfully sure wasn't captured with him.

She has had enough rumors spread about her this year, she would want more for next year.

It took everyone a while to settle down.

Xueyan smiled down at them from the stage.

"Oh my, oh my. Our goddess is smiling at us, she must be so pleased with us."

"Yes, she has to know how much we love her and willing to go for her!"

"She's so beautiful. Look at her eyes glisten."

"If I was a man I'd be happy to be with her."

"Doesn't matter, I will marry her and bring her home for my brother."

The girl fans couldn't get enough of Xueyan. While the male fans tried their best not to talk because they came along with their girlfriends.

Seeing the number of male fans, Mei Han felt like crying. Though Xueyan was an upcoming actress, she already has the highest male fans than most of the popular actresses.

She went closer and whispered this new discovery into Xueyan's ear. Xueyan as calm as the ocean flashed her a smile.

The camera soon zoomed in on Xueyan, as her face appeared on the big screen outside.

"Hello," Xueyan started softly, when she spoke some of the girls awwned. 

"Hiiiiii!" They replied.

"Perhaps, I should reintroduce myself?"

"No, Queen of Highlights. You don't need to do that."

"Yes, even with my eyes closed I'd still recognize you."

"And a blind man will too!"

"So, how do we start?"

"Whichever way you want queen."

Mei Han took it upon herself to start. "Okay, can everyone here be?"

"No! We can't! We only want Xueyan speaking into that microphone and not you. Hand it over."

Mei Han was speechless, she should have never taken that microphone. She quickly dropped the mic and went to sit behind Xueyan.

"My dearest Xueyan, a quick question for you. Do I go ahead?" A female fan asked.

"Yes,"

"Oh, okay." The girl smiled. "How did you get chosen as an actress? Not a side character, not a maid, not a second female lead but as the main lead. Perhaps, someone is sponsoring you behind the curtain?"

Before Xueyan could reply, whispers rose. And some of the fans started scolding the girl.

"Hey! Y'all have to be quiet!!!" The girl screamed and everywhere quietened down. "We need to know more about our actress, our favorite girl so we can defend her fully when rumours start spreading about her! Don't y'all get? We are not alone here! A lot of us here are her fans while most were sent by their leader to come up on us... I don't mean to be rude. See things from my angle too."

There was a cheer for her, and seeing Xueyan smile at her she wanted to scream for joy.

"I couldn't take the test with other upcoming actresses, then I had still been working at the hotel when the invite was sent. I rejected it at first though but realizing the things I could achieve with fame..." She paused that smile not leaving her face. "I decided to give it a shot. And here I am. I've a million people on my side, ready to defend and fight for me despite that I'm not worth it. 

I'm promising y'all, I'll never do anything in a cunny way! I promise to stay true to my fans! And in all situations, for y'all to trust in me."

"Wow!"

They started clapping.

"More reason we stan you!"

"My lovely goddess, is it true you attended the same high school with Ru Fangxi and the rest?"

"Yes,"

"Your name wasn't found though? Did you change name? Or perhaps, the school cleared your record?"

"I can't explain for now, but one thing you should know is I didn't change my name or identity."

Another female fan stood up, "What does Fangxi have against you though? She had a fan meeting on the first of this month! Declaring herself number one and that she does everything first. I had also gone just like I believe her fans are here too, she spoke so many mean words about you... Is it just because of her role given to you? Or there's more?"

"I really can't speak her mind for her... But I have nothing against her. My motto is love and light, no bad feelings. The face of the earth is wide enough for us all." Xueyan didn't use the automated reply sent to her. She answered everything truthfully without beating round the bush.

Mei Han had never been this satisfied all her life, the questions were yet to come but it was flowing well.

"Reasons why we love you! We can't count it all! Your intelligence is surprising! Your patience is one to learn. Your uniqueness! Everything about you is worth more than a billion diamond stones!" Someone from the crowd shouted.

"And I love y'all too!" Xueyan said.
