Kaiden was at a loss. He really wasn’t sure if he should even go through with asking Jenell to be his girlfriend. First, the female was not responding to any of his text or calls. Secondly, ever since Jenell walked out of Peony Studio, he had not seen her at all. A part of him still hoped the reason the blue eyed princess refused to speak with him was not his fault. Another part knew it was.

Star had told him about the article about the other female, but it wasn’t what the papers were saying. That female was the arranger for his plan for Jenell. He tried meeting with her in secret so it would be a surprise, but he never thought it would lead to their distance. Letting out a sigh, he rubbed his face.

Even Shun was asking him too many questions about his relationship with Jenell. This was the fifth time his friend had asked about their relationship and Kaiden really just wanted to leave. However, the baby boy he was currently bouncing on his knees would surely complain. Also, the little giggles were too cute!

“Ah Shun, I told you. I like her, but she doesn’t like me.”

“And I told you that she does,” his friend replied stubbornly holding Angel.

“Doesn’t feel like it,” he sighed.

He saw the slow smile curving into a grin and that only caused the hair at the back of his neck to stand. What was Shun planning and why did the man look so happy about it? As he thought about this, the door to the house opened to reveal Jin. That he expected, but he didn’t expect to see the female who had been avoiding him.

Picking up Peter to hold against his chest, he greeted them.

“Suu Jin,” his eyes looked at Jenell to see she wasn’t looking at him, “Jenell…”

Ah, his heart hurts. Guess this would be a perfect time for him to leave. Smiling, he was about to announce his departure, but Shun had other plans.

“Ah, Jenell! Thanks for coming. I need Jin to take me to grab a few things. Hope you don’t mind I invited Kaiden to help too. Peter seemed to be attached to him already,” Shun pointed out.

“We won’t be too long,” Jin smiled and Shun handed Angel to Jenell.

Alone with Kaiden, Jenell didn’t know what to feel. She focused on caring for baby Angel, while Kaiden focused on caring for baby Peter. There wasn’t much talking or sound beside the babies’ giggles or babbles. Kaiden sang softly and rubbed Peter’s back to put him to sleep. Jenell eventually placed the sleeping Angel in bed as well before forcing her legs to enter the living room where Kaiden was.

What were they going to do now? The babies were no longer distractions for them and she just hoped Shun and Jin returned soon. Right now, would be best.

“Jenell,” Kaiden said her name softly and she refused to acknowledge him, yet her blue eyes turned to him, “We need to talk.”

“No,” she replied back sharply, “No, we don’t.”

“Jenell-”

“No!” She shouted before lowering her voice into a whisper, “I don’t care what you have to say.”

Kaiden stared at her with a look she had never seen on the raven haired man’s face. The vocalist’s eyes narrowed and she was suddenly pulled into a room. Door closed and back pressed to the wall, she was staring up at the man who broke her heart.

“Are you mad at me because of that woman?” Kaiden questioned sternly, making sure to barricade her with his arms.

“It’s none of your business!”

“It is!” Kaiden raised his voice and slammed the wall, startling her, “Whatever is going on, tell me. I’m tired of you ignoring me.”

Fine. If that was what he wanted, then Jenell was going to give it!

“I hate that you focus on helping Taemeng. I know he is your best friend, but still! Then, you keep going out with that girl and leave me behind. Like, am I not worth it?! I know people like you. Who wouldn’t?! You are nice, kind, and talented. I know Taemeng doesn’t like me. I can tell. Anyone would want to be with you. But me? No one wanted me because I am a mess! I’m jealous and clingy and think too much and-”

Lips silenced her.

Lips… Kaiden’s lips… Wait… they were kissing?! Before she was able to comprehend what was happening, Kaiden had already pulled away. She stared at him wide eyed and blinking brightly.

“I really like you, Jenell. Uh, sorry for kissing you without permission,” he apologized with a smile.

“Do it again,” she whispered and he complied.

She knew kissing Kaiden would be sweet and considerate just like the man himself. Lips parted and tongue licked in one another’s mouth. Their body was pressed closed and Jenell clutched Kaiden’s collar, pulling him in deeper. She had never gone all the way with any of her past relationships, but with this beautiful man, she was willing to do almost everything.

“Kaiden,” Jenell breathed out softly when their lips parted. She was panting, still wanting the man close to her.

“Don’t ignore me,” he whispered and leaned back to kiss her forehead, “Are you free next week?”

“We have promotions to do,” Jenell mumbled and nuzzled his neck, “I think the week after, maybe?”

“Let me know,” Kaiden cupped her face and Jenell couldn’t help smiling. She nodded and he bent down to kiss her again, but the knocks on the door made both of them jump.

“We’re back,” Shun announced from the other side of the door.

It was a good thing they came back earlier than expected, because the babies were starting to cry awake. Shun wondered where his friends were and went looking. There were noises behind one of the rooms and he could hear voices. Grinning, he was glad his friends had made up, but seriously, to leave his babies alone?

Not letting Kaiden and Jenell care for their babies alone again.
