The man with the beard aimed to hit Edward’s chest, but before making contact, Edward had already grabbed his hand. He pushed him back roughly; the man staggering before hitting the ground.

Bobby and Nadia watched them fight, their mouths gaping. When the man fell to the ground, they clapped their hands and cheered, "Awesome!"

Edward turned to face the children, his chest heaving. Amused with their astonished faces, he winked at them. "Call me dad?" he asked playfully.

"Dad!" the two children shouted in unison.

Nancy blushed as she watched their exchange.

"Hey! You wait and see! I’ll teach you a lesson…" the man grumbled incoherently. Despite his threats, the man knew he was no match for Edward. He’d experienced his fair share of fights and knew when to cut his losses. He struggled to get himself upright, and then walked away, feeling humiliated.

"Are they… your children? Are you… married now?" Edward asked.

There was a twinge of disappointment in his voice.

"Not married," Nancy clarified. "But you’re right. These are my kids!"

"Dad, I’m mommy’s biological daughter, but my brother Bobby isn’t!" Nadia inter

asked him to find out their location. He had no idea where they were.

In a few seconds, Hiram had already located the restaurant they were dining at.

"Keep an eye on them. I’ll be there in a minute," Charles grumbled. He then drove to the restaurant.

Hiram shrugged helplessly and thought, ‘When is my boss ever going to feel secure about Nancy? Why does he always feel like he's about to lose her?'

Hiram didn’t dare protest against his boss and parked the car outside. He watched Nancy and Edward having dinner with the children, talking, and laughing. ‘This doesn’t look good…’ he thought, bracing himself.

Even though it was already late, they didn’t look like they were leaving any time soon.

With a sigh, Hiram leaned against the car and lit a cigarette.

Before long, Charles parked his car near Hiram and walked out.

His handsome face was as cold as ice as he asked, "Where are they?"

Hiram raised his chin and said, "They’re right there having dinner!"

Charles looked to where he was pointing, and his heart dropped.

He saw Bobby and Nadia smiling brightly. ‘How could they be that comfortable around Edward?’
