This time, Charles and Jay were not in their regular hangout, Breeze, but in a common bar named Dream.

The bar was noisy with a lot of different people.

They were in a private room and had ordered more than ten glasses of cocktail.

Jay could not hide the look of frustration on his face.

He drank slowly instead to drown his sorrow and didn't want to talk.

Charles lit a cigarette and leaned against the sofa lazily. "It's already so late. Why don't you go home?"

After taking another sip of wine from the glass, Jay stubbornly said, "I'm frustrated. I don't want to go home."

Charles took a drag on his cigarette and said sarcastically, "Before, you couldn't wait to get married to Doris, couldn't you? Now that your dream has been granted, you should be happy. So why are you impatiently behaving like this? Is the rumor true, then? It's been said that you are a man who cannot be loyal and will always want something new."

With a sigh, Jay explained, "The Doris I knew used to be careless and heartless. She is not that a clingy person. But now, she keeps clinging to me and wants me to treat her like a princess every day."

"Have you forgot

u still attending school?" Charles inquired further.

"No, we don't go to school anymore. Our family comes from a poor village. Our parents are not in good health anymore, and we have younger brothers and sisters to take care of. So we are left with no choice but to leave our village to make money." The girl was reminded of her situation in life and felt a little sad when she said these words. She tried her best to keep her tears from falling.

Charles nodded his head in understanding.

After a while, he slowly asked, "What's your name?"

"My name is Libby and her name is Lilian. We both came from the same village," said Libby.

Lilian also nodded in agreement.

She looked much more introverted and shy. She lowered her head while fixedly looking at her toes.

She was pretty with big watery eyes, which resembled two grapes.

Her timid appearance would invoke people to feel sorry for her.

"We don't need to check their household registers. Why are you asking them about their family?" Jay was already a little drunk by then.

"Come nearer to my side, Lilian," Charles said gently.

"Yes, Mr. Fu," Lilian answered and sat down beside him.
