For a while, Jerome scrambled to utter a word, evidently dumbfounded at how straightforward and arrogant Charles was.

If what Nancy said was true about their break up, then why was this man still pestering her?

"Mr. Fu, right? If Nancy is saying that you two have separated, I suggest it's better not to bother her anymore. As a man, you should respect her decision." Jerome's wise words proved that he was really an esteemed professor by profession.

"Uh, uh, I'm going to the toilet first." Caught in such an awkward situation, Nancy tried to find an escape. She didn't know how to handle this overbearing moment, not when two alpha males were in an intense staring contest.

More than that, she was too embarrassed to explain everything to Jerome. After all, this was their first meeting after several years, so Nancy thought it'd be best if she could just avoid this meeting.

And without saying anything further, she grabbed her hand and headed straight to the toilet.

In her head, she intended to dawdle and planned to come out after Charles left.

That way, she'd have a moment to thoroughly explain everything to Jerome.

Meanwhile, Dorothy thought that her plan of making her jealous had worked. She had prearranged this lunch invitation, and her devious self couldn't be more proud of what she had done.

Aside from that, she was overtly confident since the internet was practically bashing their relationship, stating that Nancy wasn't a match for Charles at all.

s's bodyguard would came to pick up Bobby. But today it was Charles!

'Damn it!

Why is he following even here?!' she cursed to herself.

"Mr. Fu, this is the kindergarten. Please behave yourself!" she said, sporting a straight face to showcase how serious she was.

"But you are my woman! Kissing you is not weird at all!"

"Charles, don't be such a stubborn jerk!" If she were, to be honest, Nancy had tried her best not to snap at him. But he was just too persistent that it was getting on her nerves!

More than that, she was still on the process of moving on. And if he showed up uninvited in all places she would go to, it would be one hell of a ride for her.

"Listen, Charles, I have never loved you, okay. So, it would be best if you finally let me go."

Charles was more stunned than hurt by her words. 'She never loved me?' he thought while his brows tightly knit together.

"Mommy, are you here to pick me up?" Suddenly, Nadia happily ran towards her, hugging her waist out of sheer excitement.

"Mommy, where's daddy?" Behind her was Bobby, who was also running towards her.

At the sight of his innocent little face, Nancy was frozen to the ground. Her heart ached and grieved for the young boy. Breaking up with Charles would also mean staying away from this kid.

"Bobby, from now on, you have to take care of yourself, okay? Promise me." She bent over and rubbed his little head. And as she spoke those words, tears started to form on the corner of her eyes.
