Ye Yang was giving Hei Xiaomeng a bath by the well.

Wang Xiangyun was aware of all that and more. She got up, walked towards the window and gazed upon the bright sun in the sky, but her heart remained gloomy.

“You may leave. I want to be alone.”

Little Tian observed her lady’s lonely figure as she stood up and wiped away the little bit of bloodstain by her lips. “Miss, for the sake of your health please have something to eat. Your lunch is still warm.”

And then she turned towards the door.

When she came to the exit, Wang Xiangyun spoke up. “Get some medicine for your cheek and mouth.”

Little Tian could hear the apology in her voice. Eyes lined in tears, she looked back at Wang Xiangyun, who had her back towards her. Little Tian whimpered in acknowledgement of her orders.

She knew Wang Xiangyun had slapped her because her lady had let her disappointment override her thoughts. But if this was what she, as a servant, had to do to stop her lady from abusing herself, she was willing to be slapped a few more times!
