Chapter 327 - Meet Yangyang Again

Chapter 327 Meet Yangyang Again

"Wait a moment. You are not the President of that insurance company. Why should you interfere with their personnel arrangement?" Xia Yu still felt that it was a little weird, so she wanted to stop them and asked them to figure it out.

"Let me explain to you. Your classmate was an investigator of the insurance company at first, in charge of investigating the fraud insurance case. When he found the secret and nasty trap behind it in the process of the investigation, he had the guts to break up with them, which made him suffer a big loss. The car which he borrowed from his girlfriend was damaged by Li Tianci. Young Master Yan wanted to compensate him. So, he let your classmate solve his conflict with Manager Hao by himself." Liu Sijie simply explained it.

Manager Hao was just a nobody, who didn't deserve Shen Yan's attention. Shen Yan was too lazy to deal with Manager Hao by himself. Why not let Yang Xu take the opportunity to vent his anger? It was also a reward for his hinting Xia Yu, although Xia Yu at that time didn't get his point at all.

"Why was Shen Yan related to the fraud insurance case?" Xia Yu made some inquiries before. The insurance was bought before Shen Yan took charge of the company, so he should not be related to it.

"They intended to find something to distract me so that they could make it possible for Zeng Ziqiang to enter the Board of Shen Group smoothly." Shen Yan exhaled. Even Old Madame was not strongly against Zeng Ziqiang's entry into Shen Group anymore now. Thus, if they could sabotage Shen Yan, the only stumbling stone, from attending the board meeting, Zeng Ziqiang would make it with Old Madame's consent.

If Shen Yan did not guess wrong, the trial day of the fraud insurance case must be the day when the Board of the company was supposed to decide whether to let Zeng Ziqiang join in. Their plot was very feasible, but Shen Yan was not the one who would let himself at the mercy of others.

That was it. Now Xia Yu got it. No wonder Li Tianci frequently showed up in her life.

When Xia Yu went to work the next day, she got a call from the Headquarters, which praised her effort of helping others who suffered from the disaster and decided to let her visit those orphans in an orphan asylum on behalf of the company.

Before Xia Yu could say something, Cai Yanyan complained aside. "There are so many idlers in the Headquarters. Why doesn't the Headquarters ask them to do the work while always appointing someone from our company to do this?"

They had been sp busy these days. Xia Yu's absence meant that Cai Yanyan should take over her workload. What was worse, there was a shortage of secretaries since a few secretaries left, and Cai Yanyan still had other work to do. If Xia Yu left today, she and other colleagues must work overtime today.

"You can only make a complaint here. If it is spread to the Headquarters, I am sure that the employees all over the company will be required to make a self-criticism." Xia Yu knew that it was a hard time for Cai Yanyan, so she took some documents with her to alleviate other secretaries' workload when leaving here. She wanted to settle as many documents as she could on the way.

Xia Yu ran across Shen Yan when she just came out. Hearing that Xia Yu was going to the orphanage, he opened the car door. "Get in. I will send you there."

The orphanage was a little remote. It took two hours to drive there. After getting off the car, Xia Yu saw the sign that said "Happiness Orphanage" on the building, which reminded her of what Jiang Yayan said to her.

She told Xia Yu that when she was in the orphanage, she used to be beaten and scolded by the older ones. She didn't dare to retort and could only cry, hiding under her quilt.

Sometimes, they went too far when they scolded her. She was so provoked that she threw herself to them and fought with them. However, she was weak and alone. How could she beat down those older ones? The result was that she was hit black and blue finally. At that time, she felt so depressed that she even wanted to kill herself on the sly.

Later, she grew up and met Jiangjiang's father finally. Though they did not spend much time with each other, he was very considerate to Jiang Yayan. Since it was so, she was willing to take the risk to help him.

"What's wrong? Why are you crying suddenly?" Xia Yu shed tears unconsciously when thinking of Jiang Yayan's miserable life. Shen Yan wiped her tears gently on the side.

Seeing the teardrops on his fingertips, she came to realize that she was really crying. She took a deep breath and said, "Nothing. I just recalled some unhappy memory and couldn't help crying."

Xia Yu glanced at him and said, "I am going to enter. Would you like to come with me?"

Shen Yan thought for a while and decided to come in with her. He already got to the gate of the orphanage after all. If he left without coming in, people might think that he was cold, not caring about charity when knowing this. These people living here were pitiable in fact.

Shen Yan got out of the car and took a step forward first. Then he walked in the building.

"Are you from Shen Group?" A woman in her forties asked them with excitement and cast a glance behind them, wearing a doubtful look.

The orphanage was informed that Shen Group would make a donation to them, but the two people apparently didn't bring anything here.

"Yeah. We come here to go over the situation in advance. This is Mr. Shen Yan. Are you the dean? Would you please show us around?" Xia Yu said.

"Sure. Of course." Noticing the presence of the second young master of Shen Family, the dean said with hospitality immediately.

She showed them around for a while and surely took the opportunity to fight for the welfare of the children here as much as possible.

Shen Yan nodded and promised that he would tell the situation here to the Board after going back. They could remit the fund which the orphanage needed as soon as possible. Hearing this, the dean thanked him a lot once and once again.

"We want to see around casually by ourselves now. Dean, if you have some things to do, just go ahead. We'll contact you later if we have any problem." Xia Yu said.

"OK. Help yourself." The dean said and then turned back to her work.

They kept walking inside. The children in the orphanage all came over and gathered around them with great hope and desire in their eyes. They wanted to be adopted and desired for a home. Xia Yu felt that her heart was seized fiercely. She showed sympathy for them when seeing this.

Xia Yu didn't bring any gift here. The expectations in those children's eyes touched her. She stroked her neck and untied her silk scarf to put it on a girl's neck who was 5 or 6 years old. She also took out her tissue to wipe her nasal mucus.

"Wah!"

Someone suddenly burst out crying, which shocked all the other people. Xia Yu looked into the direction of the crying.

Under a tree, a boy who was 7 or 8 years old, was crying while beating another thinner child who kept his head lowered. Xia Yu could see that his body was shivering because of pain.

"You are a fucking dumb boy. How dare you bite me! How dare you!" The boy, who beat another child, swore.

At this time, the dean rushed over quickly. After separating the two children, the dean scolded them. Then she pulled the older one away.

Xia Yu went over and squatted to see if he was hurt. At this time, the younger boy finally raised his head and looked at Xia Yu.

When she saw his face, Xia Yu felt surprised and pitiable. How could he be here? That dumb boy, Yangyang was supposed to be in the hospital. Why was he in the orphanage now?

The boy obviously recognized Xia Yu as well. He rushed to her arms and cried. Xia Yu gently held him and felt like crying as well.

She comforted him for a long while before he stopped crying. Xia Yu had intended to find the dean and ask why he was sent here when he calmed down. But he was seemingly afraid that Xia Yu would go away. He held her neck with his arms tightly and showed a scared look on his face.

Xia Yu had no choice but to hold him and go to find the Dean.

"Do you know him?" Shen Yan asked aside.

"Yeah. I met him when I went to Liang County for relieving people in the flood last time." Xia Yu answered while walking and stroking the boy's head with her hand.

When she found the dean, she inquired about the boy's condition. The dean sighed and said, "He was sent here not long ago. His grandma, the only person who could take care of him, passed away because of a car accident. His relatives didn't want to adopt him at all because he couldn't speak. I heard that those relatives divided up all the compensation which the wrecker gave him for the accident. But finally, they sent him to this orphanage. What a poor child!"

The boy in her arms cried out again and shivered so fiercely when hearing the dean said that his grandmother passed away because of a car accident.

He had been crying for a long time, which exhausted him. So, he directly fell asleep on Xia Yu's shoulder with a crying face. Xia Yu wanted to put him on his bed. But when she just put him on the bed, she did not expect that he suddenly woke up and tried hard to creep into Xia Yu's arms with his hands holding her arms tightly and his head shaking with unwillingness.

What a poor child! He lost the only relative who he could depend on now. How could he live through in the future?

But anyway, they must cure his disease first of all. Xia Yu took up his hand and went back to find the dean. "I met this child once in a disaster. He was with his grandma at that time. Our company had arranged the surgery for him, but I didn't expect that his grandma had a car accident. Now that I met him again in this orphanage, it means that he has a blessing with our company. I want to take him away to cure his disease."

"Really? That's wonderful!" The dean said with appreciation, "You don't know that his uncle has no child, so he intended to adopt him actually. But he was afraid that the boy might become a burden to him in the future. Therefore, he gave up. If he can speak, I guess that his uncle will be willing to adopt him."

Of course, it would be better for him to live with the accompany of his relatives. Xia Yu nodded and said, "It can't be better. Dean, if you agree, we want to take him to have a check-up first and then arrange the surgery for him as soon as possible."

"Yeah, I agree. It's good for him. I totally agree with you." The dean said with a smile.

Xia Yu and Shen Yan took the child to the hospital together. When they registered, Shen Yan held Yangyang in his arms, standing behind Xia Yu. They just looked like a family, and they were very intimate.

After doing the check-up for Yangyang, Xia Yu and Shen Yan took Yangyang to a shopping mall and bought him several suits of clothes as well as some moisturizing lotions for children, painting his face and hands many times with the lotion. Then they took him to a barbershop to cut his overlong hair short.

Later, they went to McDonald's and ate some food, which Yangyang had never eaten in his whole life. He was very excited. Shen Yan thought of the other children in the orphanage, so he bought more hamburgers and packed them to take away.

Xia Yu took Yangyang to the children's park to play for a while after finishing the meal. At last, they went back to the orphanage with him.

"Wow! How beautiful these clothes are!"

"I really want this kind of clothes."

"Me too."

The children of the orphanage all gathered around them and looked at Yangyang with admiration and expectation in their eyes.

Shen Yan handed those burgers which he brought back to the dean and let her give them out to the children. He looked at those children and said, "Our Shen Group has a charitable foundation. I will faithfully tell the situation here to the Headquarters and ask for as many donations as possible for these children here. If possible, we can afford their tuition fee in the future."

"That's wonderful. Mr. Shen, thank you very much." The dean had prepared a speech to persuade Shen Yan to donate more money. But now, Shen Yan made such a great promise to her before she could say something, which really astonished her. And she was too thrilled and grateful to say anything.

Chatting with the dean for a while, Xia Yu and Shen Yan decided to go back. The children here were thoughtful and sensitive. They knew that Shen Yan came here to help them. So, they did not part with these two people until they arrived at the gate. And they were still reluctant to see off them.

Especially, Yangyang was reluctant to let Xia Yu go, fearing that she wouldn't come back anymore after going away. Finally, the dean promised him that if Aunt Xia Yu didn't come back to see him, she would send him to find her by herself.

So Yangyang finally let go of Xia Yu's hand. He saw them off all the way until the car was out of sight. Then he just went back.

Shen Yan accompanied Xia Yu to stay in the orphanage for half a day and then took Yangyang to have a check-up, which almost cost him a whole day. After he went back home, he directly went to his study. He had to stay up late to finish his work today.

As for Xia Yu, she returned to her room and wrote a report about the situation of the orphanage. She planned to hand it to the Headquarters tomorrow.
