Chapter 19 - Just One, One More

Saint packed his bag with a sigh. It had been a long and frustrating day. One that made him wish he could just up and quit this stupid two-year burdensome agreement he had made with his grandfather.

But he also knew why he couldn't and also knew that it wouldn't be so hard sticking it out after all he had almost made it. There were only a few months left on it.

The exact amount of time left for Heart at his company, actually. And with every growing day, he wondered why he had taken such an enormous risk back then.

What he had been thinking when he knew the very lines in the contract were damning to all of them if he so much as even slipped by a hair now.

Yet, he had been unable to say no. He could not turn Heart away.

A risk he absolutely one hundred thousand percent had needed to take.

One, he didn't regret one bit.

But even so, that looming date of his father getting closer and closer reared its ugly head at him and left a sour taste in his gut.

He sighed and stroked his temple to ease the headache that was forming there.

It was almost midnight and he could finally, after this hellish day head home to rest and forget. That this had ever happened. Tomorrow after tomorrow he could just go back to being a regular person. Those were the days he lived for when he was just someone working behind a desk. When he could look up and see the guy he liked out of the corner of his eyes sitting at his desk. Or pacing around trying to figure what to do. Helping others, Playing with Mouse, any of those things were better than a day like today.

Because he had never wanted to stand in front of hundreds of people and command them to do his very whim. He had just wanted to be a guy creating something he liked.

Until recently, he hadn't realized just how much creating something beautiful to share with someone really came up on his list of wants and desires.

And now that he held that aspiration he had to protect it by all costs.

It's one of the things he liked about Heart, with him, he could pretend for even a second that his life was seminormal.

'A moment on a beach, a bag of chips, eating, dancing, flying, every ordinary thing became beautiful. It put such a tremendous release on his heart that he didn't have to think about, wills, betrayals, and lies.'

No, when he could just be Saint, a man who gave his one hundred percent for those he cared about. It was a small circle, but it had recently, maybe gained just one more. 'After all, one more, couldn't hurt right?'

Saint smiled down at his bag for his flight back to Phuket to see his Grandfather and talk strategies. Then he realized that he was staring at a leather bag like an idiot. He cleared his throat, blinked, then picked up the bag and pulled open the door. He stepped out of his office for the first time since the previous day and looked over at Kit who was just clicking off his desk lamp.

"Ready to go?" Kit asked gently. A crease of worry around his brows.

"Yes, it's been an interminable day, and we still have to report to grandfather."

Saint winced as the sound of something falling echoed through the quiet dark building.

"What the hell was that?" Saint asked with surprise coloring his expression.

"Heart." Kit said calmly.

"Heart??" Saint repeated stupidly.

Kit nodded.

"What is he doing here? His shift was done hours ago everyone else is at home didn't you tell him to leave to go eat something?"

Kit smiled somberly.

"I didn't have the time until just now. I have been just as busy as you. Once I noticed who was here, I figured it was best if you two talked about it before we go."

"Is he nuts, what is he still doing here?" Saint mumbled.

"Yes, well, he said he couldn't leave until he found it."

"Found what?"

"This kid is an idiot always losing something or other…" Saint froze and remembered earlier when he had snapped at Heart.

He had completely forgotten about what he had said and done there because he had gotten busy on the phone with the architects that worked for TLR.

"Oh, fuck…" Saint rubbed his face in disbelief.

"What? What's wrong?"

"You know how the architects had a back up saved on their computers and that they printed an extra off hours ago?"

"Yeah, we used a speedy courier to courier it over to the building site hours ago." Kit said.

"Oh, oh no!"

"You.."

"Yeah, I forgot about Heart, this entire time…" Saint deflated feeling awful.

"Go tell him he can stop looking, maybe we can offer him a ride home or something."

"The busses have stopped running and it would be a really long walk. After this whole mix up, it's the kindest thing we could do isn't it?" Kit suggested.

Saint nodded his agreement without looking at Kit his mind filled with anger and sadness at how hurt Heart must be by now. Instead of beating himself up over it, he headed towards the office with the only light on and where the sounds were clearly coming from.

Saint opened the door to see Heart standing on a chair pouring through a file intensely. A frown puckering his pretty little mouth and his eyebrows furrowed in concentration. His hair was a disheveled mess, from which Saint assumed had to be the many times he had run his fingers through it in frustration.

He walked towards Heart and stopped at the base of the chair, then looked up at Heart who stood on it, his brow furrowed in concentration. His mind lost to the world of files and ignoring the world around him.

Heart was glued to the file, flicking through its contents carefully. Almost entranced.

Saint sucked in a smile.

'That suit was the perfect fit and almost a compliment to his own suit.' Saint stared in awe.

'You really are too cute Heart, help my soul.'

Saint cleared his throat when he realized Heart just would not notice him standing there.

Heart jumped and yelped in startlement.

Saint watched as Heart's eyes widened in shock and he lost his balance from jumping back quickly.

Saint braced himself for the impact he knew was coming. He threw out his arms to catch Heart and adjusted to the left so that their heads wouldn't hit together.

Heart fell into Saint's face first, his arms outstretched and reaching to grab at thin air until they wrapped around him.

Heart's arms fell around Saint's neck easily and his chest slammed into Saints. His head landing roughly onto Saint's shoulder. While his feet and legs stretched out behind him still semi planted at the chair's edge but mostly slipping off towards the floor.

His shoes slid the last half an inch and his feet fell to the floor, Heart shut his eyes looking like he was braced for impact.

Saint stifled a chuckle and slid his arms around Heart's body and cupped his bum gripping him up so his legs could dangle. He forced the knees up with a squeeze forcing Heart to wrap his legs around to encircle his own waist.

Once the force of the impact had worn off and Saint's pulse had stopped ringing in his ears. He finally was able to realize. Heart and he were cuddling, with Heart hanging like a monkey from his front.

Heart pulled his face off his shoulder and looked down at him, staring into his eyes, hugging tightly to him and just stared sweetly as if he didn't mind.

Heart's breath gently tickling him in the right ear.

Saint felt himself growing aroused.

Felt his self-control and tiredness melting away.

Heart took long, steadying breaths and Saint could tell he was trying very hard not to panic now.

Saint hid the smirk that begged to get out from deep inside him, locking all this cuteness away for later so that he could treasure it.

And he realized Heart wasn't making any effort to let go of him either.

'Why are you so mesmerizing, so soft, so sweet, and so caring? What did I do to deserve the world, bringing me someone like you?'

'But those were the words he had to keep to himself,"

"For now.'

Instead, he put on his best game face.

"Next time you want a hug just ask me from standing, it's much easier than doing so from on top of a chair…"

"I mean, I suppose whatever position you want is a good enough position for me," Saint said whispering seductively up at Heart.

Heart pulled his head back and realized too late just how strong Saint really was.

'Sorry my sweet little goldfish, you are mine for now.'

The whole world froze and slowed to their heartbeats and breaths.

A Moment that couldn't go fast if he wanted it too, and he realized from the intense stirring in his pants that he didn't want time to move. He just wanted to stay here like this.

"What are you thinking about right now?" Saint's asked.

Liking the way Heart's warmth oozed and wiggled across his skin. Heart's soft scent of minty fresh spray he used assaulted his nose to mix along with his own cologne the smell of sandalwood and rose that he always wore.

Saint leaned in and pecked him softly on the lips.

Heart looked at him in surprise.

He smiled.

"Just one more." he leaned in and pecked him again.

Heart's soft lips puffed up from the gentle force of being tugged on and he stared at Saint as if searching for something which he seemed to find and be satisfied.

"Just one, one more.." Heart said and leaned in meeting him halfway to peck his lips.
