Despite the odds, the monster didn't give up until the very end, it wasn't like the other monsters that ran away when the enemy was too much for them… they were leaders, after all. So, they had a pride to protect, even though just having it was useless...

"As expected of the evolved form of a goblin… fighting is something like breathing to them," Luke said after he sat down to catch his breath.

Luke thought the other goblins would try to get on his way, but that never happened. They were probably afraid that they would get on the way or they had orders to so when their leaders were fighting, Nevertheless, they scattering across town again.

"It is getting pretty hard to level up… to think that a monster like this would only make me level up a single time…" Luke frowned. "Speaking of which, they had a lot more HP, mp, and SP compared to their levels, they also had some skills that probably affected that."

"Yeah, I saw that… Iron Heart and Vigor," Shalia said.

"Isn't it weird that they had those skills even though they were a lower level compared to you two?" Luke asked.

"They probably received those from their master," Rina said. "The money spent to strengthen their troops is an investment, after all."

Luke couldn't agree more… but he was starting to think that they had way too much gold coins since their most powerful minions were no longer a match to Luke who was twenty levels below them. Regardless, Luke grabbed his loot that was only the swords, everything else had been destroyed by the grenades.

The city was almost free of the smoke, so the visibility had improved considerably. Artiuno even approached without having the need to receive orders. She knew that she was put to stay somewhere because of the the smoke, after all.

"Thank, girl," Luke said and then jumped on Artiuno's back. "Let's hunt some zombies and then you will be free to eat the other monsters for a while."

Luke already had enough coins to buy the next tier of skills, so he didn't have to do that. Still, he decided to do it to show Danielle that while she was special, she wasn't the only survivor. He also wanted to free the city from the hands of monsters in case other survivors decide to return. In any case, using only ten grenades did the trick.

"Wow, that is awesome… where did you buy that?" Danielle asked while looking at Artiuno.

"I didn't buy it… if you have a skill called Tame, you can tame monsters…" Luke frowned. "Anyway, jump in. I will show you the city."

That seemed like fun, so Danielle didn't hesitate. For a while, she looked pretty ecstatic while flying, but then she saw the city almost completely free of monsters and she also saw the destruction that Luke caused, while it couldn't be helped, it sure looked quite scary. In any case, the population of monsters had decreased so much that they had to cross several blocks to find a single one. She looked particularly shocked when she saw the horde of zombies that had been almost obliterated by Luke.

"See, I defeated the monsters, but everyone isn't back yet… we will need to defeat all the monsters that are summoning crystals to our world," Luke said. "While you are a bit younger, the people where I came from could use some help… it will be better than staying here alone."

"I saw those swords… the monsters that had them," Danielle said. "Did you defeat them all?"

"Yeah, but I had some help," Luke said.

Danielle stayed quiet for a while wondering what she should do. Luke wanted to hurry up and go home since it was getting late. Still, Danielle didn't look that convinced.

"... I want to become strong and bring everyone back," Danielle said. "If you help me become strong, then I can work with you."

Although that was impossible, Luke nodded. It was fine for her to have such a goal… he just wished that keeping going with that story won't come to bite him in the ass later… In any case, such worries disappeared from Luke's mind when Danielle tried to bring tons of stuff, even though they mostly crap that wouldn't help her in any way. While she insisted, Luke ended up convincing her to throw most of the things away by saying that he will give her one of the kids of Artiuno in the future.

After a couple of hours, Luke returned to his camp and while he did mabu many things and got a lot stronger, things hadn't changed even a single bit while he was away in the camp.

"As expected of big sis' partner… even though he looks so useless, he managed to become the leader of such a place," Sylah said.

The other elves had said something similar, but Luke decided to ignore it. Nothing good would come if he shows others who easy to taunt he is. In any case, he found his parents and Amanda's group having dinner together. As usual, the dinner was monster fish cooked by a bonfire.

"Welcome back, Luke," Julia said. "And that is…"

"Someone I found in Cuba, her name is Danielle and she will join us," Luke said.

"Who is this auntie?" Danielle asked.

"She is not… You shouldn't call her that way," Luke said. "She is my mother."

"Oh… she is master's mother," Danielle said. "It is nice to meet you, master's mother. Please treat me well."

"Master?" Luke frowned.

"Aww… what a cute child," Julia said and then patted her head. "I never thought that Luke would be popular with children."

"Luke… come over here for a second," Mark said.
