Chapter 17 - Darth Revan's Trials

(Sry, I'm tired. Short chapter for this one. Pls follow my twitter and join my discord that's in the bio. @ARN3wman)

Tyler chuckled. "Of course something like this would be here. On second thought, let us keep moving forward."

Obi Wan nodded. "Let us tread carefully. That place reeks of the dark side."

Tyler nodded. "I have an inkling of what may be inside. I believe that this is a test of sorts left by Darth Revan to find someone worthy of passing his knowledge to. You all should make a concerted effort to keep your emotions in check. If they take over, you will without a doubt fall to the dark side."

Obi Wan turned to the padawans. "If either of you would like to stay back, don't be afraid to say so."

Tyler shook his head. "That is not an option, Obi Wan. They will need to face something like this at some point regardless. It is better that they do it now while we are there to support them."

Obi Wan sighed. "Yet again, you are right Draco."

Tyler puffed out his ċhėst. "I'm pretty great aren't I?"

Kai rolled his eyes. "There he goes again!" They all laughed.

Tyler then led the group into the dungeon. Unbeknownst to Tyler, his suspicions were correct. This was a test left by Darth Revan. However, what he did not predict is that there are no material rewards for completing the dungeon since there are no boss fights or trash to clear. In fact, the reward is the training that one would receive by completing the trials.

Each trial will attempt to overwhelm the participant with dark energies and extreme emotion. The farther you can make it, the more control you can grasp over your emotions and the dark side of the force. It also works for NPCs. Since it is a dungeon, you can fail it but not through death. If you are about to fall to the dark side, you will be transported back to the entrance of the dungeon and be relieved of the burdens that the trial placed upon you. Thus, the only price this dungeon has is emotional pain.

As soon as they exited the hall and entered a large room, a thick fog rolled in. Tyler quickly spun around but found that his group was nowhere to be seen. Suddenly, he felt the force screaming at him from his back.

He turned frantically and saw a horrific sight. Kai was laying on the ground. He was bloody all over and had both arms missing. "Master… Help me." His voice was weak and sounded close to death.

Tyler was shocked. "No, this can't be… I couldn't have failed." It completely slipped his mind that this was just a game. It felt so… real. He rushed over and fell to his knees. The dark side of the force was washing over him. He felt its power. It whispered to him in a seductive manner. It promised him great power.

He reached out to console his padawan. As he extended his arm, he realized something. He closed his eyes, stood up, and shook his head. He then walked straight through Kai. As he did, it faded away into the fog. "As I thought. This is just a test. I will need to be careful."

He continued pushing on through the fog. He felt the dark side getting stronger and stronger. It clouded his mind, his judgement. He found himself slowly losing his ability to think clearly. It went on like this for about 10 minutes.

Before him were four figures. One was donning a black cloak. Two of them were restraining someone but they were masked. The last one is what made him lose his mind. It was his mother.

She looked like she had been through the gauntlet. Her clothing was ripped and she was blood all over. Suddenly, a familiar voice called out. "Ah ah ah, I have found your weakness young jedi. Submit to my power, become my apprentice. Let the dark side control you. It will grant you power beyond your imagination."

Tyler was furious. "Sidious, let my mother go, or else." He drew both of his sabers and ignited the deep purple blades.

Darth Sidious laughed maniacally. He then gripped part of her clothing and ripped it off. "Submit to me Tyler. With the power I can give you, you'll be able to protect your mother from things like this. Join me!"

Tyler froze. 'How did I let this happen?' He then realized something. He deactivated his sabers and sheathed them. He closed his eyes and took a series of deep breaths. He then knelt down and meditated.

He chuckled. 'It almost got me that time.'

Sidious was furious. He flicked his wrist and a lightsaber hilt landed in his hand. He ignited the crimson blade and hissed. "HOW CAN YOU JUST SIT THERE AND DO NOTHING? IS THIS NOT THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IN YOUR LIFE?"

Tyler remained in silence. Sidious snarled. "Fine, so be it. You Jedi are so impotent." He dashed forward with his lightsaber aiming for Tyler's neck. As it went through, Sidious and the other three figures faded into the fog.

While he was reading this, he was sent back to the entrance of the dungeon. Waiting there for him were the other three members of his party. He quickly looked over his stats. He had 55 free points to allocate! He quickly used them all.

(I just realized that I missed a few level ups. I think I fixed it. Whatever is here is what will be canon for this novel from now on.)

Tyler was stunned. "HOLY SHIT!"

Obi Wan turned to him frantically. "What happened? Are you okay Draco?"

Tyler laughed. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just surprised about how strong I am now."

Obi Wan thought for a second. "You're right, you seem much stronger than when we went in."

Tyler thought of something. He looked over at Kai and inspected him.

Kai, 70 years, Jedi Padawan (Revanite)

Level 45

Unknown

He had discovered that hidden classes can be applied to NPCs too. He then looked over at Obi Wan and Anakin.

Obi Wan Kenobi, 25 years, Jedi Knight

Stewjon Human

Anakin Skywalker, 11 years, Jedi Padawan

Level 33

Tatooine Human

Tyler was intrigued. "Obi Wan, Anakin, allow me to ask you something."

They nodded. "Did the two of you both encounter two visions?"

Obi Wan nodded. "Yes. That is the case. I saw some horrible things."

Anakin also nodded. "Same with me. I probably would have failed if not for your warning before we went in. Thank you Master Draco."

Kai also nodded. "I probably would have failed as well. Thank you Master."

Tyler smiled. "Well it seems that all of us benefited from this." Due to it being a hidden class, it must not be visible on non companion NPCs in addition to other players. If they completed the trials, they must have gotten it.

He sighed. It would seem that he has yet again fuċkėd with the canon. He could only wonder what would happen once the Clone Wars came around. "Let's not stick around any longer. I'm starving!"

Kai laughed. "Master, you can say that again!" They all laughed as they walked out of the temple. Tyler then noticed that Maul's starship was still sitting there. If it was just going to rot away, he might as well take it! He stepped onto the ramp.

This day just couldn't get any better! Tyler turned to the group. "I am going to fly this starship back to the frigate. You guys grab your starfighters and meet me there." Without waiting for a response, Tyler excitedly ran into the ċȯċkpit and took off.

The reason he was excited was not because he got a new ship. He was excited because he could give this ship to his mother! A Senator needs to travel in style. Let's be real, the Scimitar is quite a sėxy starship. It is also armed to the teeth and has a hyperdrive! Stick a good pilot in the front seat and there wouldn't be a safer place to be.

He landed the Scimitar in the frigate's hangar. A few minutes later, his group returned. They then walked to the bridge and set course for Coruscant. The flight would take a few hours so he decided to browse the forums.

(Yeah, I'm retconning this in. Deal with it.)

Nothing interesting was happening. This was quite a boring era in Star Wars. Not much would happen between the first and second episode. Maybe he could speed things up a bit to make things… less boring. Then again, he might not have to since Palpatine lost his easy route to power. His only solution now was to take over the CIS and wage brutal war on the galaxy.

Tyler was hoping for the second so he could keep his focus on the most important thing for him. MONEY! In the case it wasn't obvious, Tyler loves money. How else is he supposed to have Limitless plastered across the galaxy?

However, there was currently an opportunity that has arisen for him. He is lightyears ahead of the rest of the player base in terms of levels. Due to this, he would have time to do something that was crucial to his class. Training! He could hone his skills and ensure that even if someone was several levels over him, they wouldn't stand a chance. He could also do this while he explores the galaxy to uncover untold riches. That is just a mere afterthought though.

Unfortunately, even with everything going on for him, he was not amused enough. He therefore decided to make a forum post. The subject line was this:

"Limitless Seeks Capital Investors for Partnership Initiatives"

He filled the post with vague information about various initiatives that the guild was taking and what types of investors he was looking for. Mostly large corporations that are seeking an entrance to Galactic Expedition. They would also have to meet with him in game. This put him in the position of power since they would be coming to him. He made sure to emphasize that investors should not expect to acquire shares. Then he clicked "post".

Within seconds, the post was trending. It was a big deal. This was the first post that the guild leader of Limitless has published. Even more so that it was such a crazy subject.

There were three types of responses. The first were the skeptics. They ridiculed Tyler for posting this by making claims that there was no way that corporations would invest in this game.

The second were the admirers. These people were impressed that Tyler would make such a bold claim. At this stage of the game, most guilds would be begging for investments and happily hand out shares. Meanwhile, Limitless was tossing out a fishing line with some bait on it and had no doubts that the corporations would bite.

The last type were the spectators. They were enjoying themselves from the sidelines. They made comments about wondering who would take the bait. This group was by far the majority since almost everyone was curious what move Limitless would take next.

Several hours later, they arrived over Coruscant. Tyler had someone take the Scimitar down to the private hangar in the guild hall. He boarded his fighter and led his group down to the Jedi Temple to turn in their quest.

Soon enough, the group stepped into the council chambers. Windu smiled. "I take it your mission was a success?"

Tyler nodded. "Very much so." He then withdrew all of the Sith Holocrons from his inventory, except for the special one from Revan, and handed them over to the council.

Windu was shocked. He did not expect such a bounty. "What of the Dark Jedi?"

Tyler shrugged. "We took care of them. However, there was a much more interesting development."

Windu raised his brow. "Do tell, Draco."

Tyler sighed. "When we were about to enter a second temple, we were met with an unexpected guest. He goes by the name, Darth Maul. He is a Sith."

The Jedi Council was shocked. Yoda sighed. "Returned, the Sith have. Surprised, I am not."

Windu nodded. "It is no wonder that our minds have been clouded by the dark side. What happened? And was he the master or the apprentice?"

Tyler chuckled. "That pathetic excuse for a Sith was no master. I had a little talk with him afterwards and he sang like a bird. Care to guess who the Sith Lord is?"

Windu rolled his eyes. "Just tell us. There are trillions, if not more, beings in the galaxy. It could be anyone."

Tyler shook his head. "It turns out that he was right under your noses. His name is Darth Sidious, more commonly known as Senator Sheev Palpatine."

With that bomb dropped, everyone's jaws hit the floor. Windu was furious. "Are you sure?"

Tyler laughed. "Of course I am sure. I went through his memories myself! And you lot are damn lucky that I intervened with the whole Naboo affair. He was almost named Supreme Chancellor for fuċks sake."

Windu sighed. "Although we do not approve of your methods, we must thank you for your deeds. You have saved us for now."

Another voice from the side of the room called out. "I have had visions as of late. Through the darkness, I can see a great war that spans the galaxy. It appears that this Sith Lord is at the center of it all."

Tyler turned to see who talked. He was surprised because it was someone he thought to be dead. It was none other than Jedi Master Sifo Dyas. The one who commissioned the clone army.

Tyler smiled. "Master Sifo Dyas, you are correct. I have had these visions as well."

Windu sighed. "This news is quite concerning. We shall meditate on it and come up with a solution. You are dismissed Draco."

*Quest Completed: Investigate Moraband*

*Rank: Epic*

*Rewards: Darth Revan's Legacy*

Tyler rolled his eyes upon seeing this. He was inwardly hoping that this was not the reward for the quest. Oh well, what could he do.

As he walked out he overheard something. Sifo Dyas stood up. "If you all would excuse me, I have something to attend to."

A lightbulb lit up in Tyler's head. He then waited for the master to walk out of the chambers before boarding an elevator with him and Kai. Obi Wan and Anakin stayed behind. Hopefully they would not expose the whole affair with Darth Revan.

Tyler turned to Sifo Dyas. "I don't believe we have had the opportunity to meet. My name is Draco." He bowed.

Sifo Dyas smiled. "It is a pŀėȧsurė to meet you Draco. I am Jedi Master Sifo Dyas."

Tyler smiled back. "I couldn't help but overhear that you had something to attend to. Where might you be headed?"

Sifo Dyas had to suppress his panic. He did not want his actions getting leaked. "I have some personal matters to attend to. With the coming war, I have some affairs to get in order."

Tyler smirked. This could not be a worse excuse for a monk. "I hate to be intrusive, Master Sifo Dyas, but would you happen to be headed to Kamino?"

Sifo Dyas froze. He had been found out! The one thing he didn't want happening had come to fruition. "How did you know? I haven't told anyone about this."

Tyler chuckled. Having high charisma really is a blessing. "I was just curious. I have been meaning to head there myself. I heard that their cloning facilities are magnificent. With all the talks of war, in addition to the fact that Jedi don't really have personal affairs, I would be surprised if you weren't headed to commission an army. Aside from that, Kamino would be the best place to go for such a thing."

Sifo Dyas sighed. "Well, it would seem that you have caught me. What will you do with this information?"

Tyler smiled. "Oh, you don't have to worry. I would never tell the Council about this. If anything, they will be on the hands and knees thanking you for this once the war comes around. It is in fact the complete opposite! I would like to join you on your little trip to Kamino."

Sifo Dyas chuckled. "Well, it couldn't hurt to have someone of your status with me when I negotiate with the Kaminoans."

Tyler nodded. "I am also sure that traveling in one of my frigates would be much more comfortable."

Sifo Dyas nodded. "Indeed. This could also be a good lesson for your padawan. Afterwall, the purpose of him being your padawan was for him to gain experience in this type of thing."

Tyler laughed. "I guess that is the case. I just hope I don't rub off on him too much. I doubt the Jedi Council is too fond of me."

Sifo Dyas shook his head. "Although they are not very fond of your methods, they think that you embody what the Jedi Order used to be. I, on the other hand, am a strong supporter of yours. The things you get done deserve a lot of merit. I commend you."

Tyler smiled. "That is good to hear." Now his mind was made up. With Sifo Dyas's support, he might even be able to snag a seat on the Jedi Council! Now all he had to do was save his life and his one way ticket to glory would be booked. At least that is what he thinks!
