Chapter 12 - Yoda's Love Child

As soon as Tyler heard that this kid was his padawan, he felt a rollercoaster of emotions. First, he was excited. His padawan was one of Yoda's species! But then he thought about how much of a pain in the ȧss it would be. Lastly, he was happy again when he saw that after Kai's training, he will become an NPC Companion.

Tyler turned to Windu. "I will do my best to teach him and protect him."

Windu nodded. "You are dismissed then. Keep us updated on his progress. We are very interested in how our fastest improving Jedi Knight will instruct a padawan. This is an experiment of sorts. We look forward to the results."

Tyler bowed. "Thank you Master Windu." He then turned and walked out of the chamber with his new padawan. Once they were on the elevator, Kai turned to him.

"Master Draco, what type of training are we going to do first?"

Tyler turned to his padawan. "First, I am going to test you…" He sniffed a few times. "Kai, you smell that?"

Kai inhaled through his nose to see what Tyler was smelling. "I don't smell anything out of the ordinary master. What do you smell?"

Tyler scoffed. "I don't know about you, but I smell some fuċkin cap."

Kai raised his brow curiously. "What is cap?"

Tyler chuckled. "Don't worry about it. Anyways, we will train later. First, we are gonna go shopping. We gotta get you out of those rags. We also need to get you an astromech."

Kai tilted his head in confusion. "This is the traditional outfit of a Jedi. Why would I need different clothing?"

Tyler laughed. "Oh, my padawan. You have much to learn!"

They headed to the hangar. Kai's starfighter was a modified Eta-2 Actis-Class Light Interceptor. It was smaller than the typical starfighter to accommodate Kai's size. It is the same model that Yoda used at one point in the Clone Wars.

They completed their errands in a few hours and then headed to the guild hall. Tyler purchased a few different outfits for Kai. He got him a few sets of formal wear, a few casual outfits, some comfort wear, several more fashionable Jedi-like outfits, a blaster just like Tylers, an OWB holster, and some custom footwear for his unusually shaped feet. Most of the time he would be bȧrėfooted but in formal settings, it was not appropriate to not wear shoes. Tyler happily forked out the 3,000 credits for the purchases.

When they landed and got out of their fighters, Kai turned to Tyler. "Master Draco, what is this place?"

Tyler puffed his ċhėst out. "This is the guild hall of Limitless. I am the guild leader so I live here."

Kai's eyes widened. "Wait, this is your house?"

Tyler laughed. "Technically speaking, only the top floor is my house. However, I do own the entire facility."

Kai was amazed. "Wow. I heard the rumors but it seems that you really are a big shot."

Tyler grinned. This kid knew exactly how to buŧŧer his egg roll. "I am pretty great. Haha. Anyways, let's go get some rest."

Tyler led Kai to his penthouse. Yet again, he was amazed at the size of his home. It was mind blowing for a child monk who was raised by the Jedi Temple.

Now that he had some time, he logged out. Today was his 18th birthday! He wanted to celebrate with his mom before getting back to business.

While they were eating dinner together, his mom told him something interesting. Apparently she is the executive ȧssistant for the CEO of the firm she works for. He is having her investigate Galactic Expedition. The main goal of the task is to determine what opportunities there may be in the game for investment.

It seems as if his estimation for how much time he has to develop was too high. He probably only had a few real world days before these corporations began heavily investing. Fortunately, he had just secured a consistent source of income. It would seem that he needs to make another trip to the Kuat Drive Yards.

He also decided that he needed to make use of the currency exchange system to get some money in real life. Tomorrow, the Life Capsule will go on sale and preorders are currently open. Thus, he logged back in, quickly listed 100,000 credits in the currency exchange system, and then logged back out. Within 10 minutes, he had over $1 million in his bank account. Then, he went online and ordered three Life Capsules. Two were to be shipped to his house and the other one was shipped to John's house. The sooner he could get his mother into the game, the better. Each one costs $50,000 but that is a small price to pay for extending your life. They also come with two months of fluids. Tyler ordered 10 years worth for each of them.

After everything was in order, he sat down with his mom. "Mom, I have something to tell you."

Julia got serious when she heard this. "What is it sweetie?"

Tyler sighed. "I want you to quit your jobs."

Julia was shocked. "Excuse me? What do you mean?"

Tyler laughed. "You don't need to work anymore. Look at my bank account." He showed her his phone and her jaw dropped. She then frowned.

"Tyler, where did you get this money?"

Tyler shook his head. "I just withdrew this from the game I've been playing. This isn't even close to what I have in game. You can use real money to purchase in game currency that other players list on the exchange. I listed some credits and got over a million dollars."

Julia breathed a sigh of relief. "I was worried that you got caught up in some bad stuff. What are you going to do with the money?"

Tyler grinned. "Well, I ordered a few of the Life Capsules that you have been hearing about on the news. They should arrive sometime tomorrow morning. Press the large buŧŧon on my headset when the installation and I'll log out to transfer over. Then I'll help you get accustomed to the game. From now on, we work for ourselves."

Julia was so proud of her son. He reminded her of how ambitious her late husband was. He was always reaching for new heights and would have probably dropped everything to do the same with Tyler. "Alright. I'll trust you on this one."

Tyler smiled and hugged his mom. "You won't regret it. I promise. Don't worry, I'll keep you quite busy!" He then went to log back in. He had some preparations to make.

When he logged back in, it was the afternoon in game. He gave Xander a call as he walked over to the shooting range. "Hey Xander, can you fill me in on what I missed yesterday?"

Xander nodded. "Sure thing. So we secured a lot of trade deals already. In addition, there are frigates on the way to Kessel carrying humanitarian relief. Each deal that we made put down a week's worth of payments as a deposit. Once they receive the promised resources, we will start the normal payment plan where they pay on pickup. After giving Kessel their cut, we are left with 386.4 million credits."

"For recruitment, the first day went extremely well. In total, we recruited 327 core members, 849 elite members, and 4,826 normal members. In addition, we recruited 26 Jedi Knights, and 4 Sith Apprentices. In terms of non-combat classes, we recruited 302 pilots, and 78 advanced profession players. We now have 6,044 members in the guild. Everyone is currently hanging around the guild hall and the number keeps climbing."

Tyler was thrilled. This was going better than he could have possibly imagined. "That is great news. Transfer all of the credits to me. I have some big ticket items to purchase." He then hung up. Soon after, he got a notification of the transfer.

Kai sensed his master approached so he hopped down from the table. "Hello Master Draco. How did your business go?"

Tyler smiled. "It went quite well." He then turned to Wolfgang. "Dude, your name is amazing. How would you like to be an elder? It just would not be right if we didn't have someone with a name as crazy as your's in an officer position."

Wolfgang's jaw dropped to the floor. "It would be an honor Guild Leader."

Tyler laughed. "Go see Xander and he will handle the promotion. I have urgent matters to attend to so you are dismissed."

Wolfgang nodded. "Thank you. I'll be going now." He then rushed away excitedly.

Kai looked to his master. "So, what are we going to do now?"

Tyler sighed. "Unfortunately, we have to do some boring stuff. After that, some more boring stuff. But for some reason, I have a feeling the next few days will be quite interesting."

Kai's face lit up. "Sounds like fun!"

Tyler rolled his eyes. "Be careful that I don't rub off on you too much. The Jedi Council would be quite unhappy."

Kai laughed. "I'll be careful."

They went to the tenth floor hangar and entered their fighters. The two of them took off and docked with their hyperspace transport rings.

A few hours later, they arrived at Kuat. They disengaged from their rings and landed in the hangar.

His order this time around ran him 606 million credits. He would have to pay off the debt over time. In addition, unlike last time, he left with something in hand. After seeing Kai's starfighter, he got jealous and needed to get himself a new one.

*Item: Draco's Eta-2 Actis-Class Light Interceptor*

*Rank: Legendary*

*Description: The Eta-2 Actis-class light interceptor, also known as the Jedi starfighter or Jedi interceptor, was a starfighter used by the Jedi during the Clone Wars. Designed to replace the Delta-7 Aethersprite-class light interceptor, the Eta-2 was a smaller vessel but possessed superior firepower. This particular model has been stripped of unnecessary systems for a force sėnsɨtɨvė pilot and was customized by Draco.*

*Stats:

Length - 5.47 m

Max Acceleration - 6000 G

*Weapons:

Laser Cannons

Ion Cannons*

This is quite a major upgrade. For reference, this is the fighter used by Anakin and Obi Wan during the Battle over Coruscant. Although Tyler was beyond poor right now, he felt that every credit was worth it. Once his order was complete the next day, he would be unmatched in space until the Clone Wars.

As they departed Kuat, Tyler opened comms. "Padawan, on to our next boring thing. You might actually learn something from this though. Next stop, Naboo!"

When they arrived in high orbit, something was different. Naboo was surrounded by Trade Federation Cargo Ships. Upon closer inspection, it appeared that these ships were modified into battleships. They were massive and heavily armed.

"Kai, I think we are going to have to run a blockade. I really hope they attack us!"

Kai started sweating. "Uhhhh, master? Why do you want them to attack us?"

Tyler laughed maniacally. "Remember how I said you might learn something from this? Well, unless you want the Jedi Council to hate you, don't do this. If they attack us when we try to land on a Republic system, it will be taken as a declaration of war against Kessel. I recommend we ditch the rings now." They both disengaged from their hyperspace rings.

Kai sighed. "You really are mischievous Master Draco."

Suddenly, a mechanical voice sounded over comms. "This is the Trade Federation Blockade. Identify yourselves."

Tyler smiled. "This is Lord Draco of Kessel. I am here on behalf of Limitless to open a branch on Naboo."

"Stay your course. We will continue with further instructions."

After about 30 seconds, "You must turn around and leave the system immediately. You have 30 seconds to comply."

Tyler grinned. This was going perfectly. "We will not turn around nor will we comply with any of your orders. I am a Senator of the Galactic Republic and the Sovereign of a planet. You can take your blockade and shove it where the sun don't shine. If you attack me or my padawan, I will take this as a declaration of war against me and my system."

"10 seconds."

Tyler changed to private comms. "Kai, be ready to perform evasive maneuvers. Action is coming." As he said this, Vulture Droids started swarming out of the closest ship.

*Vulture Droid, Level 20*

"Is this your first time?"

Kai nervously replied, "Yes master."

Tyler laughed. "Me too kid! Prioritize speed first. Our goal is to break through. While we are on the way, feel free to stretch your fingers and take out a few vultures."

As he finished speaking, a wall of vulture droids was upon them. "Alright kid, let 'em loose." The two jedi opened fire. In an instant, 8 vultures were taken out. Then they took out another 27 due to collateral damage.

Immediately after, the wall of droids opened fire. A hail of red blaster fire rained upon the two jedi. "Open your mind to the force my padawan. Let it guide you. Become one with the force and you can overcome any odds."

Tyler reached out in his mind. He felt the force screaming warnings in every direction. He reached deeper. He found a one trajectory he could take to survive the bombardment. Without hesitating, he pulled up and to the right in a sharp turn.

A few shots grazed his wings but none hit the mark. In the instant he made it through, he put the thrusters on full and opened up all of his weapons. "OPEN EVERYTHING UP!" Kai then did the same.

Their interceptors were significantly faster than the vultures. There was no chance for them to catch up. After a few minutes and some careful dodging of blaster fire, they were through the blockade. In all, they took out about 250 vultures. Kai leveled up 5 times and was now level 15.

*Level up! You are now Level 15. You have been awarded 5 free attribute points.*

*Level up! You are now Level 16. You have been awarded 5 free attribute points.*

*Level up! You are now Level 17. You have been awarded 5 free attribute points.*

*Congratulations! Your Pilot proficiency has increased to Master Pilot.*

Tyler smiled. "Kai, I'm going to make a call."

Xander was sitting in a pod within the Senate Chambers. There was an emergency session called regarding the Trade Federation's blockade of Naboo. Since Tyler was off world, he needed to fill in and represent Kessel. He suddenly got a call. "Hello?"

Tyler smiled. "I have good news."

Xander rolled his eyes. "What could this good news possibly be? I'm sitting here clawing my ears off listening to this senate session. There is outrage about the blockade of Naboo but no one is doing anything."

Tyler grinned. "Oh, this news is related to that. I am currently about to land on Naboo. Inform the Senate that we are declaring war on the Trade Federation due to their unwarranted attack on me and my padawan on our trip to Naboo. I warned them and they still went ahead with the attack. I am going to convince Queen Amidala to allow us to deal with the blockade for them since we are going after the Trade Federation regardless."

Xander sighed. "I won't even ask. The Senate is gonna be pissed. Honestly, it will be worth it to see the look on Palpatine's face when he finds out what we are doing."

Tyler laughed. "This is true indeed. I will send more information when I land." He hung up.

As they approached the military hangar attached to the Palace, they noticed armies of droids and tanks approaching the city from the fields. It seemed as if the Siege of Theed was about to begin.

They hurriedly landed in the military hangar. There were no issues due to their Jedi identities. A familiar face greeted them in the hangar. Tyler and Kai hopped out of their fighters and had their astromechs stay put. "Padawan Kenobi, funny seeing you here."

Obi Wan bowed. "Master Draco. It is a pŀėȧsurė to finally meet you. May I ask what you are doing on Naboo at a time like this?"

Tyler smirked. "I was here to open a guild branch on Naboo. However, I was attacked on my way here by the Trade Federation. As we speak, my Vice Guild Leader is announcing to the Senate that we are declaring war on the Trade Federation."

Obi Wan sighed. "You really do live up to the rumors."

Tyler laughed. "Well they aren't really rumors if they are true."

Obi Wan nodded. "This is true. Follow me, I can take you to my master."

Tyler nodded. "That would be fantastic. Lead the way padawan. Let's hurry. There is a droid army knocking on Theed's door and they aren't gonna wait for a response."

Tyler had Kai jump on his back since they were running. Obi Wan led them on a quick run to the throne room.

Qui Gon sensed them coming and turned to them. "Master Draco? What are you doing here?"

Tyler smiled. "Master Qui Gon, it's a pŀėȧsurė to meet you. My original plan was to just establish a guild outpost, but now, I am here to seek Queen Amidala's approval to forcefully remove the blockade over Naboo. My Vice Guild Leader has announced to the Senate that we have declared war on the Trade Federation due to their transgressions against me and my padawan."

Queen Amidala overheard this. "How can you expect us to agree to such a thing? I am sure that we can find a peaceful resolution to this conflict."

Tyler frowned and walked up to bow before the queen. "Queen Amidala, I implore you to reconsider. Your planet has just signed a major trade deal with mine. We are also fellow members of the Galactic Republic. I will not stand for the egregious transgressions committed by the Trade Federation."

Amidala shook her head. "Is that a threat?"

Tyler chuckled. "Queen Amidala, you misunderstand. In the trade agreement signed between our worlds, there is a certain clause. In the case where a third party interferes with the fulfillment of the trade deal, Kessel and Limitless by ȧssociation reserves the right to forcefully remove the hindrance. If you deny us in our efforts, I will have no choice but to void the agreement. I would very much like to avoid that so I hope we can figure this out together. I would never threaten a fellow sovereign, I am merely keeping the promise that was made between our worlds."

Tyler was able to feel intense emotions emanating from the throne. However, it turns out that the emotions weren't from the woman sitting in the chair. They were actually coming from the handmaiden standing next to it. He smiled and looked right at her. "And you might be?"

The handmaiden was startled by the sudden inquiry. "My name is Padme Naberrie. I am just a handmaiden."

Tyler found this interesting. Using the force, he could sense that she was completely telling the truth with the first half of her statement. However, she was clearly lying with the second half. Even without his knowledge of the universe, he would still be able to tell that something wasn't right.

Tyler laughed. "Interesting. Well you seem to have a strong opinion regarding this matter. If you have something to say, out with it."

Amidala intervened. "My handmaiden will have no part in this."

Tyler raised his hands. "Okay okay. I'll lay off. It is just highly unusual that a handmaiden would have such strong emotions regarding an issue such as this."

Amidala was intrigued. "What are you trying to say?"

Tyler waved his hand. "This revelation is not to be revealed at this point in time. I believe it most beneficial if that matter were to remain a secret for now."

Amidala was confident now that the Jedi in front of her had figured out the truth. "Very well then Master Jedi. So back to the discussion we were having before, what are we going to do regarding the droid army?"

Tyler spoke up. "If I may… We should retreat to a remote part of the planet for now. Somewhere they would be unlikely to find us. My fleet will be here tomorrow and then we can free your people."

Qui Gon was confused. "Master Draco, what fleet are you referring to? To my knowledge, you are only in possession of a frigate and a few fighters."

Tyler grinned. "Oh that? I spent another 600 million credits before I came here. Your information is a bit outdated but that is understandable since the ships won't be ready until tomorrow anyways."

Qui Gon sighed. "You are an anomaly in the Jedi Order. I have no idea where they found you but they probably think that you're just as much of a pain as I am."

Tyler chuckled. "Master Qui Gon, you are mistaken. I am much, much worse than you are. They even had to have the dark side talk with me. Apparently I'm special."

Qui Gon laughed. "Indeed you are Master Draco. Anyways, we should get going. Queen Amidala, are you coming?"

Amidala rose from her throne. Her handmaidens followed closely behind. "This can't really be considered abandoning my people so I guess I can agree with this plan."

The four Jedi escorted the queen and her handmaidens to their starship. It was in the same hangar as Tyler and Kai's fighters. They all got into their fighters. Tyler talked over comms. "Kai, come with me. We are going to rain some blaster fire over the droid army. We will act as a distraction so the queen's ship can get to its hiding space unnoticed."

Kai nodded. "Sounds like a plan Master." Without further adieu, the operation got underway.
