Chapter 6 - The Guild

'Holy shit. If I didn't have to learn how to use my abilities and how to fight manually, even just completing the class change quest to become a Jedi Knight would make the time worth it.'

There are various handicaps and restrictions that are placed on the force sėnsɨtɨvė class. For example, anyone that is a Jedi is automatically locked at the reputation level of hated with the Sith and hostile with any of their allied factions. This also works the other way around.

For example, during the Clone Wars, the Jedi are automatically considered hostile by all members of the Confederation of Independent Systems (CIS) due to the Jedi Order's ȧssociation with the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR). On the other hand, Sith are considered hostile by all members of the Galactic Republic due to the Sith Order's ȧssociation with the CIS. This excludes neutral citizens.

Another restriction that is placed is that Jedi and Sith are sometimes at the mercy of the Jedi and Sith Orders. They occasionally receive mandatory quests that have a time limit. The only plus sides to this is that the rewards are bountiful, the objective will be located in a nearby system, and anyone can participate. The downside is that if the quest is not completed within the time limit, the player that was issued the quest will receive a severe reputation penalty.

One other restriction is something that is detrimental to melee classes. They are restricted to only cloth and light plate armor. This transforms a Jedi or Sith into glass cannons. Light plate armor limits range of motion so most would just go for cloth armor. An example of light plate armor that this class can wear is similar to Obi Wan Kenobi's getup but there are some limited exceptions.

There are, however, some benefits aside from limitless potential. Legendary equipment is soulbound. This means that they permanently belong to that player and can not be traded or dropped on death. Just becoming a Jedi or Sith awards 3 soulbound items with 2 of them being legendary ranked items.

Another benefit is that there are various items that are only usable by force wielders. For example, the Delta-7 starfighter is exclusively used by force wielders due to some lacking systems.

One other benefit is that this class gains unrestricted access to their respective temples and their resources. Something such as the Jedi Archive is truly a Priceless resource.

Xander and Tyler looked to each other and grinned. Tyler then said, "Well, looks like the two of us are the first two Jedi Knights among players. Pretty cool huh?"

Xander laughed. "Fuck yeah it's cool. Shall we head to the Senate building to found the guild?"

Tyler nodded so they left the Jedi Temple. The two of them headed down to the landing platform and hailed a cab. Tyler paid and Xander was surprised with the fact that he got a discount and with the friendly treatment the taxi driver gave him.

10 minutes later they arrived at the Senate building. It was even larger than either of them could imagine. It was basically a gargantuan mushroom with antennae. The plaza out front was also huge and quite grand. Various metallic statues of warriors stood on each side of the path leading into the Senate building.

Tyler and Xander ascended the stairs and walked down the path to enter the building. Once they were inside, the scene surprised them. There were so many NPCs and not a single player to be found. It kind of makes sense though. The only ones that are able to even be on this planet are those who are going through the Jedi class change quest.

As they walked in, an attendant rushed over after noticing Draco. "Welcome to the Galactic Senate. How may I be of service?"

Tyler nodded. "I would like to found a guild. Would you be able to tell me where I can do this?"

"Of course. Come right this way. I'll help you with everything."

They followed the attendant into a private room. She pulled out a data pad and sat down. She then motioned to the couch across from her so the two players sat down.

"First of all, the required amount for founding a guild is 10,000 credits. Secondly, I will need you to come up with a name. Third, you will design your guild emblem. Choose wisely as this will be worn by your members and painted on your starships. Lastly, I will ȧssign whoever you dėsɨrė, including yourself, as the guild leader."

Tyler felt great pain as he forked over the 10k credits. It was almost his entire fortune!

As he tried to get over himself, he said, "I will be the guild leader and I'd like for my friend here to be put on as a vice leader. For the name, please name the guild Limitless."

He then got to work on the emblem. First he decided on the general design. It would have a circular border. Within the circle, there would be two others forming a vertical venn diagram that is tangent to the outer circle on both top and bottom. To finish it off, a bisecting, vertical line would strike through the circles.

His emblem would be purple. The Vice Guild Leader emblem would be white. The Guild Elder emblem would be black. Lastly, core members would be gold, elite members would be silver, and regular members would be bronze.

The attendant accepted the design. "That is that. Congratulations on the founding of your guild. Since you are the first guild that is officially recognized by the Galactic Republic, your guild will automatically gain a reputation level of friendly. In addition to this, you have the option of a galaxy wide announcement regarding your guild. These benefits are only available to the first officially recognized guild in the galaxy."

Tyler turned to Xander. "What do you think we should do?"

Xander grinned. "I live my life by a certain saying. Go big, or go home. Let's give everyone a little surprise."

Tyler shrugged. "Oh well, fuċk it. Send out the announcement."

The attendant nodded and tapped a times on her data pad.

*Limitless is the first guild that is officially recognized by the Galactic Senate. +6000 guild reputation with the Republic and all subsidiaries.*

*Congratulations! Your guild's reputation level with the Galactic Republic has risen to Friendly*

*GALAXY WIDE ANNOUNCEMENT*

*Congratulations to Limitless. They are the first guild in the entire galaxy to be officially recognized by a galactic governing body. Due to their registration location, they have gained a reputation level of Friendly with the Galactic Republic.*

This announcement sent shockwaves throughout the galaxy. Aside from it being front page news for NPCs, every single player in the game received the announcement. The first reason being that most players are around level 6 or 7 at this time. Even the highest leveled players are only level 8 and still stuck on their starting system.

The guild system does not open up until level 10. And even then, your guild would only be recognized on that planet. You still need to travel to Coruscant or Raxus to be officially recognized by a galactic governing body. This is important because you can receive quests from all over the galaxy.

Xander laughed maniacally as the announcement sounded three times. Tyler just looked at him. "Oh my. What have I done? I basically just painted a target on my head."

Xander shooed his words away. "Come on dude. Less thinking and more doing! Let's go get some astromech droids and then go to the hangar to check out our starfighters."

Tyler laughed. "You are right in some capacity. There is no time to waste. The more we capitalize now, the less vulnerable we will be to our enemies."

Xander nodded to that. The two then left the Senate building and hailed a cab. Tyler told the driver to take them to the best droid shop he knows of.

The driver told them that the ride would take 2 hours. The shop he is taking them to is some hole in the wall located in the middle levels of coruscant. Since they had some time, the two of them decided to log out.

Before doing so, Tyler made up some bullshit about how they are going to leave a teleportation marker in the cab and they will return when he is about to arrive.

Tyler logged out and did his usual routine but drastically shortened since he only had 30 minutes. Time moves 4 times faster in game than in the real world. First and foremost, he used the bathroom. Then, he chugged two protein shakes because his body was exhausted. He also ate some fruit to get some healthy sugars and vitamins. Lastly he did some basic exercises for 10 minutes to keep his heart healthy. After he was done with this, he wiped the sweat off of him and logged back in.

When he logged back in, Xander was already back in his seat and they were coming to a stop. Before they disembarked, Tyler decided to help out the cab driver.

"Just a piece of advice. Pretty soon, there are a lot of people that will be coming to this system in the near future. They are all able to use the teleportation technique that we used. If you tell them that they have the option to log out during their ride, you might be able to charge them a bit extra. Make sure you remind them of the time difference so you don't have to worry about waiting around."

The cab driver's eyes lit up. "Thank you so much my brother. My name is Goby. Anytime you need a ride, on Coruscant, give me a call and I'll either come myself or have someone from the taxi ȧssociation come to pick you up."

*You have helped the Coruscant Taxi Association (CTA) increase their profits. +6000 reputation*

*Congratulations. Your reputation level with the CTA has increased to Friendly*

'Wow, even stuff like this could get me reputation points.' "Anytime. I'll definitely take you up on that soon."

The driver decided to wait for them while they did their business. His mindset was that you could never have too many friends. Especially ones that are powerful or knowledgable.

The droid shop really was a hole in the wall. It was without a doubt, the ugliest shop in the area. It made the shop quite inconspicuous though.

Upon entering, the inside was just as nasty as the outside. Dust covered droids and spare parts were littered around the room. The weird thing was that the shop looked a lot smaller on the inside than the outside.

At the checkout counter, there was a Togruta male that appeared to be napping. The two players walked up to the counter. "Excuse me. We were hoping to buy some astromech droids."

The man seemed to not care and pointed towards the sub par droids that were on display. Tyler sighed. "We were told that this is the best droid shop around. I guess he was wrong."

The man perked up. "And who said that?"

Tyler grinned and said, "Well we got a ride from this guy named Goby. We helped him out so he brought us here."

The man shook his head. "My droids are expensive. How are you paying?"

Tyler and Xander took out their vouchers from the Jedi Temple. The man's eyes lit up like a Christmas tree. Something that Tyler and Xander did not know is that this guy loves to overcharge the Jedi Order when it comes to purchasing droids. These vouchers are essentially a blank check as long as the price is not too exorbitant.

"Ah yes yes. Welcome to my humble shop. My name is Maro. Goby is my brother in law. I own this joint. I'm going to have to ask you to keep this place a secret or at least ask me before referring someone. I gotta make sure that only people I trust know about this shop. Follow me into the back and you'll know what I mean."

Maro got up from the chair and led Tyler and Xander into the backroom. It was locked away behind a door that was at least a foot thick and made of solid metal. It could probably withstand a sizable blast.

Upon entering the backroom, it was completely different from the front. It was clean, nicely decorated, and had several displays around the room. Each display had a different droid model on it that was in pristine condition. There was also a staircase that led to the workshop and stock room upstairs.

Maro turned to them after closing the door and said, "Welcome to the actual shop. Out front is just a facade. I prefer to have trustworthy clients since people love robbing droid shops. Droids are always in demand so it is big on the black market. May I ask what the purpose of the droid will be?"

Tyler nodded. "That makes sense. Don't you worry one bit. I will be sure to only tell those that I trust about this place. The same goes for Xander over here. For the droids, I want the best R2 unit and he wants the best one you've got."

Maro smiled. "Wonderful! I'll bring out the models immediately."

A few minutes later, Maro came out of an elevator that was situated below the stairs. Two droids followed him. The first one was a brand new R3 unit called R3-H7. It's primary color was red and the secondary color was a brushed silver. It looked very satisfying.

Behind it was a brand new R2 unit called R2-F4. The droid had a primary color of white with a brushed silver base for the top. The secondary color was purple and it matched Tyler's lightsaber and guild emblem.

Maro waved to the droids as they lined up. "These are the finest models available for your needs. They will fit perfectly in an astromech slot and can also perform a variety of tasks. Do they suffice?"

Little does this man know, Tyler and Xander haven't the slightest clue when it comes to purchasing droids. All they can do is trust this man at his word.

Tyler nodded. "I am quite satisfied with mine. It seems to be quite the piece of tech."

In an effort to maintain the facade, Xander said, "Yeah, I agree. This should do."

They handed over their vouchers to a grinning Maro. He looked as if he were gazing upon a mountain made of gold. Only if he knew more about the two Jedi he just sold the droids to. He was about to get plenty of business.

*You have partaken in the first player transaction with Maro. +6000 reputation.*

*Congratulations. Your reputation level with Maro has increased to friendly.*

Both Xander and Tyler got the notification so they made eye contact. They agreed that this would need to be the place where they purchase droids from in the future.

Before they left, Maro recommended that they also purchase a protocol droid. They are very useful for communication with species that don't speak English. They realized their mistake but they did not have any way to transport it at this time.

Maro told them that they should return to purchase one in the future and that he'd even give them a 25% discount. No one else could beat the price. The reason being he would be taking a loss on that droid. On the other hand, he made enough off the two astromechs that he would make up for the loss and more!

When they exited the shop, Goby was still waiting there in his airspeeder. "Hey, I see you found what you were looking for. I hope you remember this favor that I have done for you. This galaxy is a big place and it is hard to find people you can trust."

Xander and Tyler used the force to load the astromechs into the back of the speeder before getting in. "Don't you worry my friend. Would you by any chance have any experience with piloting? And by the way, we are headed to the Jedi Temple. You can take us straight to the hangar."

Goby raised his brow as he set off towards the Jedi Temple. "You got it boss. But for your question, yeah. Me and a bunch of the guys are all pilots. We get hired sometimes to fly ships but it isn't stable enough in terms of income. Why do you ask?"

Tyler grinned. "Well, it just so happens that I am the guild leader of Limitless. I'm sure you've heard of it considering the news report open on your data pad. We are going to be entering into a lot of business ventures that will require constant availability of shipping resources. We will be hiring people to fly those ships. It would be a great help if you could help us find some people to fill those jobs."

Goby's eyes lit up. This was the opportunity he'd been waiting for. He was in dire need of money since he was supporting a family. This would provide a steady income and probably provide even more than what he was getting now.

"Oh my. That is great news! It is a pŀėȧsurė to meet you Guild Leader. I'll be sure to let the guys know that there is an opportunity with you. I'll probably come and work for you myself! And you can keep the fee for this ride. Take it as a thank you. I know it's not much but it is all I can afford."

Goby looked a bit distraught. He felt bad that he couldn't properly repay the generosity that this person is giving to him. Especially when considering that they only met a few hours ago.

While on the ride back, Tyler decided to allocate his remaining attribute points. His stats now looked like this:

Draco, 17 years, Jedi Knight

Level 10

EXP - 0%

Mandalorian Human

HP - 770

MP - 700

STR - 9 + 2

DEF - 4

DEX - 15 + 3

STA - 11

VIT - 11

INT - 6 + 2

CHA - 8 + 2

Free Attribute Points - 0

-Pilot - Advanced - 25%

-Engineer - Intermediate - 78%

-Marksman - Novice - 89%

He was now the same age as he is in real life. In fact, his birthday was in a few days so he would be 18.

While they were on their way back, they turned to each other. Xander then said, "Do you feel like you have to go to the bathroom?"

Tyler nodded. Thankfully they were almost at the temple.

They realized that now that they were level 10, there was even more realism. Things such as going to the bathroom, sleep, and eating would now be mandatory to survive. It might be a good idea to keep a pack of wipes in their inventory in case they need to "shit in the woods" as the saying goes.

There is one other key thing that this means. Since you are able to go to the bathroom, that means that clothes are now removable. A whole slew of crazy sėx related shit flew threw their minds. It would seem that a force wielder would be quite capable in bed.

A short ride and one bathroom trip later, the duo approached the hangar with their astromechs in tow to inspect their new starfighters.

Tyler walked up to his starfighter. As he approached it, a window popped up.

*You have just purchased this craft. You have the one time opportunity of a free paint job. Please choose your color scheme and decide if you want to use your guild emblem or not.*

'Free paint job. Sick.' Well, it wasn't exactly free. He worked his ȧss off to complete the quest.

He decided to go with a stealthy design but still included some purple in it. He made the primary color matte black and selected a secondary color of a matte, dark purple. It was quite eye catching. Lastly, he put his purple guild emblem on the spot where the Republic insignia sat.

Xander's ship was also pretty cool looking. Its primary color was white and its secondary color was a soft green. Both colors were matte and they matched his lightsaber. Everybody has got to have that drip.

Now it was time to get down to business. Tyler turned to Xander. "I was thinking about getting a head start on resources. You tryna make some money? We do need a guild hall."

Xander nodded. "Hell yeah. Let's do it. Where are we off to?"

Tyler grinned. "Well first, we need to go and dock into our hyperspace rings. After that, we are headed to Kessel!"
