"Jessica, this is Roy. He would like to get to know you better."

After these few words, Jessica's heart collapses. She who is always upright, whose self-confidence has no limits, at this moment, feels like she is on the edge of tears. Adam throws her into the arm of that clown who smells like a 20-foot scam? When she thinks she was coming to make peace with him and that's how he receives her. Her pride takes over, her eyes stare at that idiot who really doesn't understand anything, then she doesn't think when, by impulsivity, she slaps him and sends him flying against the wall again.

"Lisa, have my plane prepared, I don't want to see it anymore. Send him back to go home."

Without her saying another word, Adam sees Jessica turn away from him and soon disappear from his eyes.

"Haha, you're such an idiot. But at least it confirms what I thought. I saw the way Jessica looked at you and then I saw you acting stupidly on the set. In front of the stupidity you were showing and knowing a little bit about your girlfriend's character, I thought I would have fun with you. Hey buddy, get your head out of your ass a little bit, the world isn't all pink and people aren't that nice. After this free good advice, I wish you a safe journey."

Sitting on the cold concrete floor, Adam's eyes are open but he can't sees anything. What did he do to get to this point? He doesn't understand. He just wanted to do a favor and that's how it ends? Why? Why did Jessica react like that and this boy he had trusted made fun of him from the beginning? Is he going the wrong way by being kind and helpful? Yet that's what his mother always taught him. Is his mother also wrong?

"Adam, come with me, we're going back to the hotel to get your things."

Adam tilts his head to the side to look at Lisa, who seems sorry. He feels that something has just broken inside him but he is no longer suffering particularly. Her cheek is painful, but her heart is at peace. This incident, however ridiculous it may be, he does not regret it because it will have allowed him to understand certain truths. He gets up without hurrying and then after looking at this tray one last time, a mocking smile slips on his lips.

"It's none of my business, so I don't want it."

When Mrs. Clifford parks her car in her driveway, her rage reaches new heights. Since her husband abandoned her, she has never hated a person so much. Before her her little Adam was a nice boy who lived with righteousness, the existence he should have followed throughout his life, yet she broke everything in a few days. When Adam returned much earlier than expected from his escapade to London, Mrs. Clifford was shocked. The boy in front of her, looked like her son, had her son's voice, but it wasn't her Adam. The boy even went so far as to yell at her before telling her that after preparing, he would move to his father's house.

Over the past two weeks, Ms. Clifford has not heard from her son, who has not called her once. When she calls him, she gets on her answering machine, but he never answers.

In his abandoned room, he left all his favorite objects. All his treasures as he liked to call them, which he had kept carefully since he was a child. All of them stayed in his bedside, in the shelves and in his cabinet. As if he wanted to start all over again, as if he had drawn a definitive line on who he was, what he had experienced, he tore up all his personal photos before slamming the door.

Nor can Mrs. Clifford forget the reflection in the boy's eyes. She read it, a pure hatred, a desire for revenge that made her shiver. His slow, cold way of speaking, without an ounce of heat in his heart, broke his heart when he laughed at her tears and that he was screaming that all the time he had lost was her fault.

The person responsible for this massacre is the bitch waiting outside her door with an anxious expression on her face. Anxious? Seeing her Adam transformed in this way, Mrs. Clifford, has no doubt that the plague's actions must be despicable.

After getting out of her car, she heads towards Jessica who understands that the bad woman is not in the best mood. Jessica regretted her decision the minute after, but her stupid pride prevented her from going back to catch Adam. Moreover, Lisa's words worried him a lot. Today, Jessica thought she was apologizing to Adam at the High School, but she stiffened when she learned that he was no longer part of the school. So she left school early this morning to go to his house, but found only one closed door when she arrived. Her waiting lasted all day and when she saw the anger on Adam's mother's face, she doubted that she would be welcome tonight.

"You dare to come to my house, bitch."

Indeed, when she receives a violent slap for greetings, Jessica knows that talking with the bad woman will be complicated. However, she has no other options at the moment and for the first time, she is not responding.

"Hello to you too, Mrs. Clifford, I'd like to know where Adam is."

Mrs. Clifford sighs. Hitting a child will not bring her son back to her. This may eventually calm her down for a short while, but is it the right thing to do? Lowering her hand about to land a second time on Jessica's face, she shakes her head.

"I'll open the garage for you, you'll find everything you gave Adam. Before he left, he told me that he didn't need your charity and that he didn't want to see you anymore and, by the way, once you got everything back, I never want to see you again either."

Jessica with her eyes wide open stutters the first answer she thinks of. "Where's Adam?"

"I don't know, now take your things and go away. The one who made my adorable son this coldhearted being is not welcome in my home."
