Lao Ren looked at Kai"s back with admiration. Not only was this young man powerful beyond imagination, but he also knew how to barter and take advantage of situations. The respect he had for Kai reached a new level after having witnessed that interaction.

As for Mina, she had already been entranced by Kai a long time ago. Him being able to make 10 gold in a few minutes was a matter of course in her eyes. What else would you expect from the man I call Master.

Kai himself was on a high. There was nothing like easy money to get you into a good mood. He wanted nothing more than to get an expensive meal to celebrate. Food was a luxury that Kai would never deny himself if he had the funds.

As Kai was deep in thought, he heard a familiar voice.

"Master?....Sis...SISTER!"

Kai turned around and saw Ryu running towards them with tears flowing down his face. He reached the wagon and immediately jumped onto it.

"Ryu...I'm glad you're safe!" Mina said with with a shaky voice.

The siblings embraced as tears flowed down their eyes. Kai didn't like the attention they were getting so he pulled the wagon to a nearby alley, away from prying eyes.

"Master, thank you for keeping you promise", Ryu said as he bowed to Kai, tears still flowing down his cheeks.

"Don't worry about it. You guys are my first disciples after all, so you don't have to thank me. But please stop crying, you're attracting a lot of attention..."

Mina and Ryu both looked at Kai as if they were watching a god that had descended to earth.

"Master, I would like to once again swear an oath of eternal loyalty to you", Mina said with conviction in her eyes. She had already resolved to follow Kai forever, but now she swore to do anything for him, even at the cost of her own life.

"Me too, I would like to swear an eternal oath of loyalty!" Ryu followed. The only person who he ever cared about in this world was his older sister Mina, who had practically raised him. Kai had saved her life more than once now which was a debt he felt he wouldn't be able to repay even within a thousand lifetimes.

"No need to worry about oaths and the like. I told you that once you decide to follow me, then you are in my sect for life. Your loyalty then becomes a prerequisite, not a choice. Death is the only way anyone can leave. Understood?...", Kai said in a friendly tone which contradicted the harsh words he was saying. Kai had many secrets that could attract some dangerous attention in this world, so he had to hammer home the idea of loyalty as well as the consequences of betrayal.

"Yes Master!"

"Yes Master!"

Mina and Ryu responded in unison. They knew Kai's rules very well from the day when he turned Mina into an internal cultivator.

Lao Ren was shocked by what he was seeing. The two kids seemed almost zealous in their loyalty towards Kai. However he was now starting to see Kai as something beyond human so he couldn't say he wasn't affected either.

"Good. Now Ryu, tell me what you've been doing the past few days, and why are you dressed like that?"

Ryu was wearing an outfit that couriers in this world wore. He scratched his head as he answered. "You see, after you left, I found out that the money wouldn't be enough so I looked for work. Nobody would give me honest work but a courier noticed how I was able to move around the town while avoiding the dangerous people waiting in ambush, so he offered me a job. I go around town delivering packages for a fee. If the packages get lost or stolen, I'm liable. But I can see the signs of an ambush from a mile away, so I actually have a 100% delivery record". Ryu said with pride.

Kai nodded his head. Ryu was able to make money using his tracking ability which was admirable.

Ryu took out a small sack and handed it over to Kai. "This is what I've been able to save for the last few days"

The sack had 5 silver and a few copper coins inside. This was a large amount considering he made it in only a few days.

"Well done Ryu!". Kai unashamedly pocketed the money from Ryu. He felt it would be safer with him since he was the strongest one here, but he would keep it separate as the money earned by Ryu.

Ryu gave a shy smile as he scratched his head happily. He had collected the money for Kai anyway, so he didn't feel anything when Kai took it. If anything, he was happy about the praise he had just received and wanted to go earn more money to hear it again.

"Right, before I forget Master. while delivering packages, I've also been able to gather some information. It seems one of the secret man-hunter bases was attacked and their leaders are now on a war path to find the culprits!"

Lao Ren and Mina broke out into a cold sweat when they heard this.

"If it's their leaders...would it be the Roaring Sands Sect?". Kai said as he remembered that the Roaring Sands Sect had essentially mandated the actions of the man-hunters, so he wouldn't be surprised if they were involved.

"I don't think so", Ryu responded. "From what I've heard, the Roaring Sands Sect doesn't openly support the man-hunters. The leaders in question are the [Grade-4] experts who are in-charge of their daily operations.

Kai sighed in relief as he heard this. He had already fought a [Grade-4] warrior and was almost able to beat her. Now that he had powered up, he didn't think they would be his opponents, unless they ganged up on him or used some special skills.

"Let's go to an Inn first, I need to take a bath and have something to eat. Ryu, take us to the best Inn you know of"

"I know a really good one. It's a little pricey but they assure safety and the food is fantastic from what I hear!", Ryu said as he excitedly lead the way.

Kai decided to have Ryu become his official intelligence gatherer in future. The boy was able to get this familiar with this town within just a few days and even got some crucial information that helped them out.. With some training, Kai felt he could turn Ryu into the perfect Shinobi.
