Chapter 221: Samsara

When the slash settled down, there was nothing in sight. The space crackled and glimpses of what was originally veiled could be seen seeping out of the holes.

The ground shook furiously as air vibrated in tempo with it.

The pulse of the earth suddenly stopped and silence ensued once again.

By the time the voice of the world came back, it came with massive earthquakes that ripped apart the grassy land formation.

Firmly planting himself on a piece of land, Jake sighed.

Sure enough, it could only exist in the mind.

The attack was an upgrade of the [Limitless Slash]. Instead of the revised version which used elemental energies, the normal version activated with pure [Spirit Essence].

However, it still was still theoretical right now for Jake, but he could use it in his mind….or at least, what he imagined it would be.

Albeit, just executing it drained half of his mental energy.

Jake squinted his eyes as he spotted something incredible happening.

Tiny light dots gradually assembled in the air, forming a complexing shape that was still in its development phase.

"That bastard sure is stubborn," voiced Kaleyx as she positioned herself in front of the strange figure.

She took a deep breath and closed her eyes. The sparkles of energies flew to her rapidly, hyping the scale of her next action.

There were no words needed. They were going to put a stop to it right now.

Jake also readied him.

He had been preparing his miasma for this moment.

He understood very well that this was a make-believe game. The miasma that tortured him for years wasn't actually here. It had been destroyed along with his Son of Chaos' status.

However, he could still revere this illusion…..

He wondered what it would be like to be the one manipulating the miasma and not the other way round.

'The Power of Chaos. Destructive. Resilient. Stubborn. Eternal.'

He waited for the figure to assemble well enough along with Kaleyx as the purple miasma coiled around both his arms.

His hands waved fluidly, trying to get a feel of the miasma, as he began counting down.

With each wave of his arm, the miasma condensed and became more vibrant.

The figure began forming a human body. Arms. Limbs. Head. Fingers. Bones. Every human part is assembled in order.

It revealed a vengeful face that looked wronged by the entire world.

The mouth of the figure widened to release a roar, but the duo was faster than it.

Jake softly sighed as he chanted, 'Purple Curse.'

On the other side, Kaleyx stabbed Kieran's heart with her right hand and murmured, '[Katarathea].'

Her hands pulsed with the familiar dark silver glow and a loud thumping blew up from her hand.

Meanwhile, Jake released his miasma in a torrent and smashed Kieran with it.

From two sides, Kiera was ruthlessly suppressed.

He found himself drowned in the two attacks.

The first thing he felt was pain and suppression. After that was a terrifying sense of tranquillity.

Subsequent to that was the recovery of his mindset. He exited from his rage state and began to analyze everything.

However, it was already too late for him.

The moment the duo unleashed their attacks, it was over.

Nevertheless, he still tried to break out from the barrage of attacks.

Yet, things weren't going to go his way.

Having already sensed the change in Kieran, the duo upped their attack and totally devastated Kieran.

Each time Kieran tried to resist, each time he lost energy.

He found himself not being able to gather any sort of energy. His limbs wobbled as the foreign energies infiltrated his body, each having a different effect.

Kaleyx's [Katarathea] stopped Kieran from producing any sort of energy. It absolutely sealed his physical status.

Meanwhile, Jake's [Purple Curse] was even more brutal. It saturated Kieran's body with the purple miasma. Doing that would keep Kieran in a sort of eternal loop.

The purple miasma eats any energy absorbed or generated by Kieran. This way, it would handicap Kieran as while Kieran was the host of the mindscape, he needed mental energy to perform complicated actions.

Jake released his hands after he was done executing the curse. It didn't matter anymore. Kieran would forever be buried under it, with or without Jake being present.

It was the same for Kaleyx's [Katarathea]. Even after she dropped her hand, her energy still lingered on Kieran. It was still active!

Walking closer to Jake, Kaleyx released a weary breath, "That's about it. Now that he is out of the way

…."

She proceeded to look at the broken surroundings. Surprisingly, it was healing.

The divide in the land was gluing back together and the grasses became greener.

Jake looked at Kieran who knelt on the grass with his eyes closed as he was engulfed by the two foreign energies.

Just to be safe, he placed his hands on the ground and from his hand came a thick sheet of ice that cane roaring at Kieran.

The thick sheet of ice encased Kieran in a cage that Jake was sure would take his full effort to shatter.

Only after that did he relax a little.

He looked at Kaleyx, "Now that we are done, What do you want to do? What are you looking for?"

Unlike Kaletx, the reason he came here was to have a look at what another person's landscape would be like.

"Hmmm….don't you notice something strange. This mindscape is quite developed. Yet, it is evident that Kieran has never been here before. It's like the mindscape grows itself. Look at the self defence for example....By the way, do something about it, please. I don't have the right techniques for the situation," mused Kaleyx.

She was talking about the endless waves of giant ants that were currently rushing at them.

The terrifying creatures were already in sight.

Jake frowned and lightly waved his hand in the air.

Ice particles condensed in the surroundings ferociously. A chilling air wheezed around and the small grasses turned to ice collections.

The ants coming at them didn't even think before they were encased in the ice.

Nonetheless, Jake wasn't still content with everything. He made a hand sign and summoned an ice cage that blocked away from the giant ants.

Kaleyx rolled her eyes at the spectacle. He was clearly showing off.

However, she realized that she had a part to play.

Kaleyx pointed her index finger vertically and a radar beamed out of it.

In her mind, a deep scan of the landscape was revealed to her.

She began moving around, following the directions of the scan.

It took about thirty minutes for her to get to her desired location.

"It's this place," mouthed Kaleyx.

As soon as she got to this place, her instinct went all over the place.

Alarms ringed in her mind, informing her of something very strange.

But Jake could not see anything, "What is it?"

He didn't like it that he couldn't sense anything. Yet, Kaleyx could.

"I don't know but it's something good. It should be hiding," Kaleyx furrowed her brows.

Instantly, she blasted a wave of energy from her body, which spread out and depowered every hidden object.

A beam of light responded to the wave. It's bright intensity attracted all attention as the duo covered their eyes.

By the time the lights dimmed, they could see what it actually was.

"Is that…..a wheel?" questioned Jake.

He narrowed his eyes at the levitating object.

Its appearance was a wheel that resembles a sailor's wheel with different arms that could be used for rolling.

With it's right pokes and delicate design, it was surely a beauty.

If it wasn't for the encompassing and ancient aura the wheel exuded, Jake would have thought it was just just a fluke.

The message the aura gave was too real. In front of Jake, it expressed its sovereignty over everything….like it was the ruler of the world. The grasses grew longer below it.

The sky seemed to hang lower than its usual height. A tree hugged it with one of its branches.

Worst of all, it gave an unsettling feeling to Jake's insdes. It was way worse than what he normally felt from Kaleyx's aura.

It reached deep into his soul and threatened to ground it into a paste.

Jake quickly used his own aura to protect him from the savagery of the wheel.

When he looked at Kaleyx, he saw a concerned look on her face.

Once again, he asked, "What is it?"

He now understood why Kaleyx had been so concerned about Kieran.

It appeared that she had sensed something that was possibly familiar to her.

Kaleyx ran her hand through her hair in distress, "It could mean anything. However, that is for the ignorant. To the well informed, it is called the dharma wheel. It is an incarnation of Heaven, whose domain is over souls and reincarnation, Samsara. Just like the tetrahedron, this incarnation is concerned with one of the important concepts in the world, reincarnation."
