Chapter 215: Quinn's deadly attack

Kaleyx sat on the cold floor and materialized her halo.

The dark silver daggers appeared in her hands as she tried to connect with them.

In the two slim daggers was a huge reserve of power and she wanted to tap it.

Synchronizing her breath with the dagger absorption of energy, Kaleyx finally managed to connect with it.

Their combined senses gave a new perspective to the world as everything to Kaleyx turned grey.

It was a manifestation of what they thought the world as; a dull world.

With this sense, Kaleyx managed to discover a dark silver ball of energy hiding within her own daggers.

She smiled as she would always recognize the energy anywhere.

Kaley then closed her eyes and tried to draw a little portion of the huge energy.

It took her a whole ten minutes before she could successfully extract the little portion.

Immediately she did that, the energy got absorbed into her body and minute changes could be seen happening outwardly.

All her physical features got enhanced, but that was not the most highlighting change.

The energy melded with her energy and influenced all her cultivation aspects.

It singlehandedly raised her to [Realm-3 Stage-5] and also increased the capacity of her energy core.

After that, Kaleyx moved it away from her energy core, she manipulated it around her body so that every attribute would get enhanced.

By the time she was done, an indescribable aura emanated from her that threatened to submerge everything into endless discord.

It was the nemesis of everything that had life and could show them their deepest fears.

This was the power of the Negative force, otherwise known as the bane force!

Slowly, Kaleyx used her powers to levitate…

Yes, she levitated.

Along with her power up came access to the other abilities of her element. One of them was levitation.

It ignored the rule that only [Realm-4] could fly band directly granted the gift of flight to its user. Nevertheless, the flight speed would still be slower than an average [Realm-4] warrior.

"It is rare but not unachievable," a voice sounded beside her.

Kaleyx quickly glanced, surprisedly, and found that Jake had already woken up.

She looked at him, conveying her confusion.

To make her understand better, Jake actualized a step beneath him.

The delicately carved icy step became imbued with ferocious lightning energy and instantly, floated up in the air.

He reached the same height as Kaleyx and the two looked at each other quietly.

Jake then explained, "At [Realm-4], we are granted the power to resist gravity as long as we coat ourselves with energy, but that does not mean that is the only way to fly. Some elements also grant flight. For example, the wind element is known for this. The fire element is more of a projectile type of flight. The light and shadow elements are good for slow flights. Hence, your negative force that reduces the positive potential of all things should be able to make you light, which in turn would grant you the ability to fly."

Countless arcs of lightning streaked past him but Jake wasn't affected.

He willed the icy step to move around as he spoke, "For me, I achieve flight by manipulating the weak gravitational waves. Apart from these methods, I'm sure there are other methods. Perhaps, the most popular is creating a wing behind one's back."

With that said, Jake descended back on his bed.

He glanced at his body and already knew how he got to the bed.

"Did you throw me?" eyed Jake.

The answer was clear but he wanted confirmation.

"Yes," confidently replied Kaleyx.

Jake looked at her for a few seconds but later dropped the case with a sigh.

He went to his drawer to bring out a fresh set of clothes and put them on.

After he was done, he caught on Kaleyx's hard stare.

"What is it?" he asked.

"How was the effect of the crystal? What changed happened to your body?" queried Kaleyx.

Her eyes scrutinized him like a wolf eying its prey.

"Nothing much. Just a considerable increase in strength. However, I can feel the potential of my body. As long as I find the right resources, my body can become stronger," mused Jake.

He flexed his newfound strength by waving his hand in the air in a terrifyingly fast motion.

His single action produced a gust of wind that blasted Kaleyx back to her bed.

The gust weaved around the air and silently disappeared.

"Interesting," mouthed Kaleyx.

She gave a perfect hum for the situation, "A boy walked into the river of life and came out a man.

A young lady did the same and came out a woman.

A cub tried it out and came out a lion."

"Hmmm… I could say the same thing for you. I can perceive your strength. Not to talk of your aura that you think is hidden," sighed Jake.

From his perspective, Kaleyx emanated an aura that made Jake profusely sweat.

It wasn't fear that caused that. He was sure of that.

The feeling he got from peering into her aura was similar to that which one would have when they spun around in circles for an extensive period of time.

His head felt dizzy under the aura. His body wobbled like an unsteady item. His mouth gasped for air like a fish out of water.

However, Jake did not faint as one would have expected.

He calmly closed his eyes and release a slow warm breath of air.

The moment he opened them back, everything that occurred to him got dispelled.

He became immune to the effects of the aura.

Glancing at Kaleyx, he lightly smiled at her, "Compress your aura. It is going haywire."

"Ohh," mouthed Kaleyx.

She had failed to notice her lack of control over her aura.

However, that wasn't a big deal. In under a second, she quickly regained control over it and looked back at Jake.

"I reckon you used your celestial side to power up, right?" asked Jake

"Yeah..." Kaleyx said.

He spied at Kaleyx's cultivation base and sighed.

Sure enough, it was a bit easy for someone like Kaleyx to get a power surge.

He ignored her afterward and put on a large cloak, "I'm going out."

"To give the silver ruplix to Quinn, the armour maker?" asked Kaleyx.

"Yes. I will also need to check a few things over there. By now, he should have started the project," replied Jake.

Kaleyx nodded her head in understanding.

Her eyes constantly moved around as she was deciding on something.

Before Jake could open the door, Kaleyx shouted, "Wait!"

Jake paused in his step and turned his head backward in confusion.

He watched as Kaleyx picked her clothes and wrapped it around her shoulders.

She moved in front of him and opened the door, "I'm following you."

Without waiting for a reply, Kaleyx walked out of the door, leaving Jake to wonder where things had gone wrong in his life.

He had just happened to pick an

ally that didn't ask for anything she did.

...........

Thirty minutes later, the duo found themselves in front of a small shop.

The banner on the building indicated this place was the Hephaestus' Forge, which meant the duo were in the right place.

The building was not too shabby. It was well presented.

In fact, it oozed with the natural smell of iron, a sign that usually meant the home of blacksmiths and other craftsmen.

However, in front o the forge was also a stand that indicated the shop was closed.

True to it, the door couldn't bulge open and when he couldn't hear any noises coming

However, when he concentrated on his sense of hearing, he could hear the fierce clashing of two metals l.

He asked Kaleyx, "Can you hear that?"

"Hmmm..let me check," replied Kaleyx.

She closed her eyes and fully concentrated on her hearing.

Afterward, she gave her answer, "Yes. It seems like he is here after all."

*Pa!*

She proceeded to punch the door with half her strength.

The punch wasn't enough to break the door, but that was not what she was aiming at.

The sound was loud enough to disrupt the clashing sound of the two metals.

Not long after, the door opened dramatically.

A grumpy voice angrily shouted, "Whoever you are, can't you see the sign on the door. I'm closed...not opened for business. Which means I can't take any offers. Which means you shouldn't bang the door. You dimwit!"

Spits flew out of the door and splattered on Jake's face.

He had to admit that the craftsman knew how to curse.

Nevertheless, his aggressive use of words wasn't as dangerous as the spits he threw about.

Jake's face twitched as he wiped the spits away from his face.

His cold eyes intensified as his eyes met the guilty eyes of Quinn, who had already realized who was behind the door.
