Chapter 433: Fifth World: Jolie's Vow Of Silence

He cleared his throat and said, "I, I will be going," in hesitant steps while gripping the strap of his laptop bag.

"En," replied Qie Ranzhe while licking his bottom lip while ogling at him as though eyeing his prey.

Wen Qinxi walked out of the elevator while occasionally glancing backwards. It was for this reason that he didn't look where he was going and ended up bumping into a transparent glass wall for a conference room along the corridor.

"Look... ah," said Qie Ranzhe but his warning came too late as Wen Qinxi walked straight into the glass wall with a loud bang attracting the attention of the employees having a meeting inside.

Like a fly that accidentally ran into a windshield of a car, Wen Qinxi's face was plastered to the glass making the employees snicker.

"Fuck!" he swore before looking back to the elevator, "I am fine." Qie Ranzhe looked like he was about to come over so he waved him off before scurrying away rubbing his forehead. It had to be said that this genius was made stupid by love.

Meanwhile, the sect leader was having it out with the system probing it on what was behind the iron door but the system remained tight-lipped taking the vow of silence. If Qie Ranzhe gained access to all of Wen Qinxi's memories then they were both screwed. Everything would possibly collapse and the consequences would be severe.

They had already been arguing for ten minutes now but the system remained resolute even though it was so afraid of this man. "Even if I had the ability to open the door for you, it doesn't necessarily mean Qin.... ahem, Zhi-ge would let you in. Just, just open the red door and find him before he seals the deal with an illusion," said the system feeling like it had the hardest job in the world.

A smart toilet was starting to look good right now. At least it wouldn't have to deal with a terrifying existence. Okay fine, maybe a smart toilet was a bit much. Let's say vacuum bot. At least it would be cleaning up after pets and messy kids.

"Okay, I understand," he said but the tone was incredibly menacing that one would think the system had robbed baby Lin Lin's candy and Qie Ranzhe was retaliating as a father. "But why do you keep calling him Qi-ge? How about you tell me and I will keep it to myself but if you don't I will tell Zhao Zhi that you told me everything."

"You!...," said the system devoid of words to reprimand this shameless boss. Forget it, it would rather be falsely accused than sell out Wen Qinxi. With this in mind, it performed its worst disappearing act yet and abandoned Qie Ranzhe with no remorse.

Qie Ranzhe saw the system disappear but he didn't try and stop it. It would be good to use this to his advantage and have Zhao Zhi spilling his guts out. All he would have to say to him is, "The voice in your head told me everything," and he would get the answers he needed.

Qie Ranzhe took one last look at the iron door before walking towards the red door. As expected the door opened with ease revealing a strange world that felt familiar to him. It was a peculiar place different from his world with people dressed in weird clothes. Everything about this place was odd but Qie Ranzhe didn't focus on this.

He expected Zhao Zhi's deepest desire was becoming the next Lord of the seas, rivers and lakes but he was way off. Zhao Zhi's deepest desire was to be in this strange place. Qie Ranzhe realised the people within the illusion couldn't see him so he bypassed them looking for Zhao Zhi.

While Qie Ranzhe was getting lost in his own company, Wen Qinxi was sitting in his office unable to concentrate. He found that he couldn't settle down as an itchy feeling spread all over his body. No, it wasn't heat rash or smallpox, it was the kind of itch sexual in nature.

He couldn't help but shake the feeling that he hadn't been satisfied in a long time and he wouldn't be able to concentrate on work unless he released some pressure in his lower half. Unable to hold back any longer, he took the nearest folder and left his office.

One can only guess where he was going. He was going to find his man and take care of some private business. Wen Qinxi rushed to catch up with the elevator and pressed the button for the executive floor earning him odd looks from the two people in the elevator.

These people were from a different team in his department which meant he didn't interact with them apart from polite greetings. The girl called Yi Fei occasionally took a glance at him seeming hesitant to say something. Her colleague eyed her from the corner of his mouth as though trying to tell her to stay out of it but she didn't care.

"Senior Qi, would you like to join us at the canteen later for lunch?" she asked with her index finger pressed nervously on her bottom lip.

Wen Qinxi seemed rather surprised but didn't show it on his face as he responded. "Maybe tomorrow. Today I am on a tight schedule," he said wondering why she made such an offer out of the blue. Apart from his team Wen Qinxi barely interacted with anyone more especially because of the rumours that sprung up when he started working.

What he didn't know was that whoever started the rumour was a former schoolmate who knew a secret from high school. Anyway, that's a story for another day.

Yi Fei Fei seemed disappointed but she simply nodded her head in agreement. She didn't believe the rumours but when she heard the boss and Wen Qinxi came to work together she decided to get closer to him though her intentions weren't exactly clear.

The elevator stopped dropping off the two people first. It was at this moment that the vexed sect leader caught sight of Zhao Zhi through the open elevator doors. He tried to call for him but Zhao Zhi didn't hear him with the elevator doors shutting.

Wen Qinxi was too preoccupied staring blankly at the folder in his hand. He leaned against the elevator wall lost in thought. His heart was unsettled but his urge to see Qie Ranzhe was so intense that he couldn't even think straight. So as those elevator doors opened, he took the special elevator which he now had access to and reached Qie Ranzhe's floor in no time.

Li Menxie wasn't at her desk so he walked past with no hindrances knocking on the CEO's open office door. As soon as Qie Ranzhe saw him, he smiled foolishly waving him in. Li Menxie was busy handing over a report and when she saw Wen Qinxi she showed a look of disdain but it was pointless as she was ignored.

"You may leave," said Qie Ranzhe to his executive assistant in an imperative tone. His lover had taken the initiative to come to his office and he intended to take full advantage of it.

"And close the door while you are at it," he said just as Li Menxie walked out without closing the door. He suddenly felt his assistant was growing a tail that was long overdue for some trimming
